Any chnace for a follow up on the “Matchmaker Manda” segment?
My brain is hurting!!! I just can’t understand if the video iPod is real or not…
To 16:9 or not to 16:9… that is the question. And if it IS 16:9, how quickly will we get the scoop on standardization for the new iPod… I want to know what size in Pixels video should be…

I spammed you yesterday, but not on purpose. The coments section was a little jumpy. If I could have deleted them myself I would have.
Spammers have no soul and deserve to be disemboweled. It’s amazing how much innovation goes into the spam industry to get around spam filters, and it’s sad that it’s such a waste of intelligence. Do they get a kick out of making everyone’s lives difficult? They’d pretty much have to.
Kitka - the video ipod doesn’t exist yet. Any photo or video you see online is fake. You can tell in this case because it’s handled so delicately, and how the video on the screen moves around on the ipod surface. When I see a video iPod examined up close, turned around, cracked open, and then handed to me to keep for free, then I’ll believe it.
my only question is
who buys from comment spam?
It struck me as odd that you’d mention the champion trees project, but that’s great. i’d just like to mention a couple things about champion trees. Soon, champion trees will be available in stores. and its a good thing, too. after 500 years of pruning out the very best trees from our lands, trees these days are merely runts in comparison to the ones from centurys ago. for example, a typical pin oak from 1500 would grow to be 300+ feet high in 80 years. but unnatural selection works backwards because all of those great trees got chopped down, leaving the shortest ones to make seeds for each subsequent generation. so now you’d be lucky to find an 80 foot oak–surely a tiny runt. a 2 foot high guy. not what we want in our forests. and of course the straight tall trees are now the crooked runty variety.
There was a scene in ‘planet of the apes’ where the ape farmer showed the astronaut the horrible corn he was growing. why was it so bad? they kept eating the best ears and replanting the worst ones. just like with our trees.
so the champion tree project hopes to reverse this trend. the world is losing champion trees very rapidly. and more people should be aware they need to get the seeds from these great individuals and propogate them for future generations.

Does anyone else think it seems strange to be CELEBRATING the addition of advertising to the show?
I know it’s good for RB, but it’s not really something I think that most viewers are excited about…
I’m sure the ads will be fun, but I personally would rather just sit through a “sponsored by” comment than sit and watch skits about how great German ATMs are.
That’s just my opinion. Or am I posting spam? Anyway, great job on the “fake news”…

You guys should look into some kind of email authentication system. When you leave a comment you have to click a link in an email, that’d stop some of the robots.
BTW, I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about seeing an advert before. :)
I have found RB thanks to spam, I receive articles briefs from an argentine newspaper which I’m subscribed and from I can not unsubscribe, so…most of the “good comments” come from another bloggers that want to generate visits in their blogs, that is spam too…when you complain about spam you are promoting fake comments which are subliminal spam, which actually is the worst type of spam…I expect that now your super hero version of yourself is coming soon, you’ll have the power to defeat spammers, don’t you need a super hero assistant??, every super hero has one
A few years back I saw a 6 o’clock news special where they interviewed this elderly, lonely, guy who spent 2-3 hours every day surfing spam and buying stuff that he actually needed, like medication. He said it was fun too.
In any case, its my belief that spam’s days are numbered, though we still have quite a ways to go.

Thinking about comment spam: couldn’t the comment form be activated by a trigger embedded in the quicktime  meaning spiders would have to watch the whole episode before spamming? Or use cookies to determine visit length and block comments from short-visit crawlers.
Comment spam can be blocked by the blog if they have the right technology. Its called a CAPTCHA. Just like account signup at Yahoo, you have to answer what some distorted text says before you can post a comment. Computers can’t read the text, because its distorted. Presto! No comment spam.
