Hm… Weird. Now the iTunes feed is back to 4×3 (Good for iPods) but I watch it from my laptop, so maybe you should create two RSS for iTunes: 4×3 and 16×9.
Dearest Amanda,
Very serious stuff today,
Can’t wait for Frivolous Friday.
Very truly yours,
Eye Ball
After seeing today’s show, not only did I google myself, I also had an incredible urge to have a cigarette.
Hi amanda!
What happen to the rocketboom intro?
More yellow please.
All the best from Cardiff, Wales
Hmmm, I’d like to say all we need is love, but with a huge bit of swiss cheese heading our way in 2102, I’d have to say happiness is a warm Rocketboom to blow it into a nice cosmic fondue.
Marius
I thought the Moon was made of blue balls …
grate cheese story…
I wanna eat the moon!
Amanda’s note at the end, hmmm….obviously a clue of some sort.
If we later see her using a crosswalk while barefoot and the license plate on a VW reads ‘121 in 2102′ I think I’ll be able to start solving this mystery.
I can’t believe you’re born in 1981 !!! We need the truth here!
that speed limit thing… cool in concept, I’m surprised they didn’t get cited for it (as technically, left lane is for passing). I wonder how long they kept it up for as traffic looked like it wasn’t all that bad.
Also, some friends made comments that those students were lucky not to have been shot by crazy road rage maniacs (or caused any accidents like the clipped mirror on the van)
I wonder what the story was with the white van that ripped off its rear view mirror in the 55MPH video?
Runaway Bankrobbers?
Speed Limit:
The left lane is for passing, but if you’re going at the speed limit, on the left lane, it’s ok. So… Left lane is to passing (up to the speed limit). So I think it’s legal.
They should do it more often.
There are some speed traps here in the Northeast. Maybe the troopers will get the idea if done often enough.
Nothing more rewarding than pissing them off while obeying the law, uh?
I’m a bit surprised about the ibox, but only because no one appears to have asked “Is that an ipod in your pocket, or are you just glad to see her?”
Amanda…I have some more advice…don’t read the advice.
Here on LA’s freeways 55 mph is often just a distant dream. If you tried that out here, you would be shot.
‘Manda,
Since a phone call to Google from you might actually be answered, you might want to clue them in that the expression is: the moon is made of green cheese.
Peace out,
-Joe C.
the “moon made of cheese” thing in google moon is like, soooooo old. it was made for the anniversary of the apollo 11 landing, about 7 months ago.
Oh, I do like anticipating Casual Fridays! And the yellow color you wore was a real up. Fashion always being important. Be well and enjoy your wonderful work.
Drew: Thanks for zooming out hte camera again! Lovely. I guess the intro is being remade to fit the new format? I dunno, seems like many folks miss that as I do as well. Still waiting for that video iPod version. Will it be lidtes under the original QT file where all the other formats are? Do I ned to wip up an Applescript to automatically reformat the podcast into iPod H.264? Can do. Great show.
WTF?
The 55 mph road block was simply childish and irresponsible — just as irresponsible as driving too fast.
What’s next for this group, running into cars where kids aren’t properly strapped into their car seat? That’ll teach those no-good parents for breakin’ the law.
Yes, life is full of a$$holes, and you don’t need to be one in order to prove it. There are other ways to make your point without endangering lives.
I’m siding with those who say this is completely illegal as well. Left lane is for passing, and it’s not your job or right to enforce the law.
Bottom line: two wrongs don’t make a right. Get over yourselves.
Those drivers say they were being legal, but in most states it’s illegal not to drive with the natural flow of traffic. If you go to slow, ticket, too fast ticket. This was a dangerous, stupid stunt.
Hey!
I’ve been watching the 3gp version of your Podcast for quite some time now on my Nokia phone. But since a few days, the 3gp feed seems to be broken. Any plans to fix that? Is anyone else having these problems with the 3gp feed?
Cheers,
Dennis
“I am the Walrus… Fat Bottom Girls… Yellow Submarine…
What does this mean???????”
ahaha I am the walrus…..oh please….you are the amanda…..I am the walrus
Here’s a better link for the ABC World News podcast that slanders Rocketboom.
Download the video at http://a.media.abcnews.com/podcasts/060301wnt_webcasta.m4v
The segment on podcasting occurs as at 14min. The slanderous comment occurs at 15:30min.
Does anyone know if Rocketboom can make a legal case against ABC World News? ABC should not get away with this.
CSI now ABC World News?
Congratualtions guys.
Your catching fire!
The Rockets Booming!
Wow. I watched the ABC news bit, and I must say RocketBoom is more real than *that* was:
- RocketBoom is not in collusion with Google;
- RocketBoom uses more critical thinking when covering the U.S. government in power;
- RocketBoom coverage is less frivolous;
- RocketBoom film quality is superior, despite having less financial backing than the ABC “news”; and
- RocketBoom picture and sound actually match up.
I would say they are perhaps a wee bit jealous of all your popularity, especially with the snide remark that TV won’t be going anywhere despite the rise of podcasting!
Regarding the ABC Podcast: I quote Boris Lermontov from the film “The Red Shoes†when a composer realizes that his student work has been plagiarized by his teacher: “It is much better to be stolen from than to have to steal.†I sense that ABC’s big budget ‘podcast†as lame as it is, will fade away. Sort of like when something is on the cover of Time magazine that is supposed to be hip, was hip long before Time got around to discovering it.

I notice that I watch RB every day; I can’t remember the last time I watched or listened to ABC News. I doubt I’m the only one - perhaps ABC intended their news coverage of RB as an alert to their sponsors that their advertising dollars are better spent elsewhere…
