I agree with brem in that Joanne seems to be more on the formal side. Perhaps we were used to Amanda’s lovely crazy style. Anyway, I think Joanne’s style does quite much better for me and I agree with the other posters who said she must be permanently. She totally rocks.

I started watching Rocketboom just 4 days ago. I heard about it (the split with Amanda) in the Kim Kommando newsletter. I din’t know what the fuss was and checked it out.
I loved Amanda. I spent hours going over old shows.
For all those people who are dissapointed with Joanne, I have two things to say:
1: Amanda was not always flashy or geeky. There were serious shows, silent shows, interviews, dumb shows, ditzy shows, skits, and lots of fun shows. She had time to experiment and grow.
2: Joanne is not Amanda, and we should not judge her based on how close to Amanda she is–even if Amanda nailed the “job.” I think she is and will continue to nail the job as Joanne.
I love the wit and facial expressions with the underlying serious appreciation of reality.
However, the voice did not match the video on this show. Must be my computer, no one else seems to be complaining.
Rocketboom is the suxorz NOW! I need amanda as my security blanket! I hate this show now that she is gone, but I’m also so lame, that I watch it still, then bitch about how JC will never be amanda. A head twitch with every syllable, exaggerated annunciation, and increased pace of speech is great for producing pseudo-enthusiasm, but the real stuff so much better. I am guessing you don’t talk to your friends that way. Well, we’re your friends. At least we want to be. One of the tricks to your job is getting us to forget that you’re working off a script.

It looks like things are shaping up well for Rocketboom. It’s fun and is still very well made. I was all prepared to jump ship if need be, but as it turns out, I’ve put all my clothes that I’d packed back into the chest-of-drawers and am staying on as a daily viewer.
Joanne: I think you’re great! You have really stepped up to the plate and I hope to see you continue on.

RB quickly trancended the trendo’ vblog space’ with great casting into the entertainment space. The content has always been interesting but available from 20 diff RSS’s. The RPM guy was right - condolences to the luddite who isn’t intellectually old enough to get the metaphor - this new is too old, too slow, too serious.
No disrespect to Andrew he got put in a jam, but I came - and happily checked in daily - for the entertainment and and now signing off as its just another yesterday’s vblog.

I love Joanne on her Latitude show on cable, and really enjoy her face and smile and humor on this Rocketboom show, whatever it may turn out to be. I’m just glad she has work because I’m a big fan!
ROCKETBOOM 2.0 is like ROCKETBOOM 1.0 missing colors. Awful. This was a chance to switch-to-hypercool, but all we get is a mock amanda. A fat gay pink-haired host might have pulled it off, but this is too close and too much nothing. I’ll leave.

I am guessing you don’t talk to your friends that way. Well, we’re your friends. At least we want to be. One of the tricks to your job is getting us to forget that you’re working off a script.
oh no stop the presses new RB host dealt crippling story to tackle “WWIII”. Give me a break! Sigh. Look, I am not an amanda fan per se, she was quirky in her own way but apparently she had a lot more to do with the sucess of RB than I ever cared to acknowledege. I do wish Joanne all the best as she is obviously quite talented but Andrew is it, well he’s looking more and more like the man behing the curtain rather than the ideas behind RB. Lost another one RB 2.0. Change is good, just not this one.

I’m agee with Matt F. Sign-offs don’t fit for a vlog. There’s only one show on this channel, “Rocketboom” and only one host, JoCo. And if we want to know to know were it’s produced we can click the “about”.

There was one bit in the middle that seemed to get a bit lost, but I like the bomb shelter bit and the segways are smoothing out.

Mr. Gingrich was pointing out that Islamic Fascists are attacking established governments, and have been for a long time. The folks like Hezzbollah and Al Queda are doing all in their power to irradicate us from this planet. Meanwhile, we go on as if this is just entertaining news. What is it going to take to convince America and world citizens that this threat is serious?!?

Hey Rocketboom!
Well, I’ve held off on commenting till I actually had something to comment about. I’m not one for comparing people in order to assess the “better” one, so I won’t.
It looks like things are shaping up well for Rocketboom. It’s fun and is still very well made. I was all prepared to jump ship if need be, but as it turns out, I’ve put all my clothes that I’d packed back into the chest-of-drawers and am staying on as a daily viewer.
Joanne: I think you’re great! You have really stepped up to the plate and I hope to see you continue on.
Drew: Great save on a situation which couldn’t have been good for anyone. I look forward to each day. Good luck!

RB quickly trancended the trendo’ vblog space’ with great casting into the entertainment space. The content has always been interesting but available from 20 diff RSS’s. The RPM guy was right - condolences to the luddite who isn’t intellectually old enough to get the metaphor - this new is too old, too slow, too serious.
No disrespect to Andrew he got put in a jam, but I came - and happily checked in daily - for the entertainment and and now signing off as its just another yesterday’s vblog.
Settle your differences and please bring Amanda back. What can you be thinking?

This is starting to feel like CNN-lite. Joanne is a professional but she it not really what RB needs. RB needs a host that takes this stuff personally. Look how awkward she was last Friday with the Tiki Bar crew. Check out Maria Sansone on Yahoo’s “The 9″ for a non-Amanda example of what we are looking for. I would love to see Amanda come back but I realize that hurt feelings will probably keep that from happening. Andrew, find a better host or kiss your RB 1.0 fans goodbye…

I love Joanne on her Latitude show on cable, and really enjoy her face and smile and humor on this Rocketboom show, whatever it may turn out to be. I’m just glad she has work because I’m a big fan!
ROCKETBOOM 2.0 is like ROCKETBOOM 1.0 missing colors. Awful. This was a chance to switch-to-hypercool, but all we get is a mock amanda. A fat gay pink-haired host might have pulled it off, but this is too close and too much nothing. I’ll leave.
