Hey I have been watching rocket Boom since it first came out. I have always loved the show. and i would like to say that joanne colan did relly good for the first show on rocket boom she is going to be really good. i know we will somtime miss amanad but she moved fowars with her life. so keep up the work folks you never know where life might take you.
I dug it. Good job guys. Loved the tomatoe (tow-may-tow, not tow-mah-tow) throwing and the crazy Andrew clip. I laughed out loud a few times. RB hasn’t done that for me in a while.
Wow, congrats to Andrew, Joanne, and the RB team for handling this difficult transition with grace, humility, humor, and a very clever take on the red paperclip story!
Joanne has beauty and smarts and especially poise, in front of the map and on the streets. Obviously, as a reporter she has far more chops than Amanda ever did. And I find her manner in front of the camera much more believable than the Amanda of late.
Is she really just the interim host? With more episodes like this, I think RB2.0 has the potential to far eclipse the original.

That last little comment seemed like a bit of a dig at Amanda. Can’t say I like it better yet, but time will tell. Definately better than nothing and, hey, I’m someone who didn’t like John Stewart on the Daily Show at first. Takes some time to warm up.
Nice job, Andrew. Despite the technical hiccups, I think you came up with a pretty nice start for Joanne — complete with a bit of poking fun at the blogosphere. And I think Joanne did a great job — calm, cool and funny, and some good street interview technique too. The British accent doesn’t hurt either. Well done.
I applaud Ms. Colan for taking the plung into the titanic shoes of Ms. Congdon. Regardless of any differences RB was phenomenal. The wit, intelligence and joy of life that Amanda brings to vlogging is still unparalled…I eagerly await her next endeavor.

Eric, you know what “interim” means… Steve Jobs was the “interim CEO” of Apple for three years. So I guess Rocketboom has some time before they make any long-term decisions.
Joanne sort of has this “I’m not a real human being, I’m a paid professional, watch me be all professional” thing going on. Well, Amanda was getting paid too (I just watched a zeFrank show where zeFrank disclosed that she emailed him ‘I don’t really have a crush you, the writer made me have a crush on you on the show’) But Amanda bridged the gap and made everyone feel like they know who she is and also want to be her friend. That takes something special.
Now, its only the 1st show today so the jury is still out on our new intermim host, and who knows if she’ll even be around long enough for me to form a more educated opinion on.
Ya still got an uphill battle ahead of you, RB et al. but if ya keep making content and AC leaves or only comes back to the vlogosphere every once in a while… Well, who knows?

Am I the only one who’s sad that Amanda left? I was a HUGE fan of Rocketboom, but now I’m not anymore because Amanda left. Amanda was the face of Rocketboom; she’s funny, had style, awesome, and really generous and nice (for those who are wondering, I’m Amy from the William Hung Cooking Show and we had some episodes put on here, thanks to Amanda). It looks like lots of people like you, Joanne, and that’s great! I wish the best to Rocketboom 2.0.
First of all, I want to say that today’s show was great and Joanne’s debut is fantastic. I don’t think is fair to make comparison with Amanda’s era. Two diferents styles.

Jury’s out on the new version, I’d say, although I am still interested in the outcome of the experiement called RB. But I have to agree that “amanda you will always be welcome back” rings false, given what little we know about the creative conflicts that led to her departure, and the knock-on legal problems. I hope that RB can be real enough now and in the future to recognize when and where it has succeeded and/or failed in its goals. That would be the best thing, I think.
Good job Joanne and Andrew! To the critics… Amanda is not coming back. So we have to just move on as things change, okay? Okay. Yes, Amanda has left some huge shoes to fill and we all are sad, but you can’t be totally brutal– it’s only her first day. I know I’m coming back, good choice Andrew and best of luck to RB.

I never really watched Rocketboom before this whole fiasco occurred, so I don’t have much to compare this new episode to, but I must say, Joanne did a really good job. Amanda who?
I hardly ever watched Rocketboom because Amanda used to irritate me but this Joanne I can take. I like the new direction and, though you may lose some old fans, you are sure to gain new ones.
I read about 50 comments, and that was enough for me. ;) “Joandrew,” instead of “Amandrew.” I love it. She is hot, and definitely has quite the stature. I’d have her do some practice work with that unidirectional mic, though; seems she hasn’t used one much. Couldn’t hear some things she said on the street.
Great show, once I got passed the weirdness of not seeing Amanda. It’s the same, yet it is different. Too weird! It feels like I just learned I was adopted or something. You might have lost your mind Andrew, but look at all the publicity you received. Tell me was it worth trading your integrity for more popularity? Think about it.
Great job all. I think I like Joanne better, but I will have to see more of her to be sure. Amanda will be missed but I think this shows that RB is more than just a one person show!

I think the new host and the first show are fine. Certainly entertaining enough for me to remain subscribed.
My only question is, with such a public and ugly separation from Amanda, why just stuff Joanne into Amanda’s desk and shtick? Why not alter the format a bit, and make it something new and different? It almost looks like you’re trying to deliver the new show in a way that people won’t notice that the host has changed… which is insulting to Amanda, Joanne and me (the loyal viewer).
Wow! I will definitely miss Amanda, but I think Joanne is going to be amazing. I know that Amanda will do well where ever she is, because she has great talent. Anyway Drew keep dreaming big, like I heard you on the Vloggercom episode of Twit, and things will keep going well.

I hardly ever watched Rocketboom because Amanda used to irritate me but this Joanne I can take. I like the new direction and, though you may lose some old fans, you are sure to gain new ones.
I read about 50 comments, and that was enough for me. ;) “Joandrew,” instead of “Amandrew.” I love it. She is hot, and definitely has quite the stature. I’d have her do some practice work with that unidirectional mic, though; seems she hasn’t used one much. Couldn’t hear some things she said on the street.

RB inspired me to make my own videoblog, so it’s sad to see Amanda leave, however Joanne is very cute! I love her accent!
Great show, once I got passed the weirdness of not seeing Amanda. It’s the same, yet it is different. Too weird! It feels like I just learned I was adopted or something. You might have lost your mind Andrew, but look at all the publicity you received. Tell me was it worth trading your integrity for more popularity? Think about it.
Great job all. I think I like Joanne better, but I will have to see more of her to be sure. Amanda will be missed but I think this shows that RB is more than just a one person show!

I think the new host and the first show are fine. Certainly entertaining enough for me to remain subscribed.
My only question is, with such a public and ugly separation from Amanda, why just stuff Joanne into Amanda’s desk and shtick? Why not alter the format a bit, and make it something new and different? It almost looks like you’re trying to deliver the new show in a way that people won’t notice that the host has changed… which is insulting to Amanda, Joanne and me (the loyal viewer).
Wow! I will definitely miss Amanda, but I think Joanne is going to be amazing. I know that Amanda will do well where ever she is, because she has great talent. Anyway Drew keep dreaming big, like I heard you on the Vloggercom episode of Twit, and things will keep going well.
