  2. This elephant is fantastic !

    Thanks

(very short comment because very bad in english)

    (very short)

    (very very very short)

    (We can’t do shorter)

(Well, to be honest it’s not easy to do shorter baut it’s possible)

    (For example : “Thanks”)

    This is very short…

First…I want to say you guys are great, and I have watching for about a year. The elephant was sweet, however I am becoming increasingly frustrated with you Bush bashing. Sure, poke fun at his public speaking prowess he is fairly sucktacular at that, but policy wise he is easily the best thing politically this country has had in a decade. It comes off as liberal whining.

  6. Those Swiss Guys rocked! What about those costumes with the giant bells?! I thought that my home city was kinda weird for still not accepting that they were handed over to Bavaria in the mid-18th-century, but resisting the Gregorian Calender since the 16th century is even better!

And by the way… don’t let them discourage you from saying whatever you like about your ridiculous president. Greatest country in the world - and what do they do with it? Hand it over to a complete half-wit.

    Keep up the great work.

  7. Really nice episode today, but I have to add that those Swiss people weren’t German, like Daniel said. German New Year is absolutely different. I think I have never seen those customes the people wore in my whole life. But it was funny, yes it was…

  8. Great show! the elephant –Great stuff. The Chinese sure are eager and enthusiastic capitalists! Amanda, you looked exceptionally lovely today - Amazing!
I think your very kind to Mr. Bush. Just think, if a Democrate, say Al Gore, was elected president and did everything Mr. Bush did to this point. There would be bloody revolution everywhere. Rush Limbaugh would be ranting for peace and the violations against the rights of American citizens. Mr Gore would already be impeached. So your very nice to George W. Bush - everyone is very nice to George, because he’s a swell guy — a much learned scholar and military stratagist.
    Good day!

  9. Andrew and Amanda,

I am Canadian and a big fan. I am also a fervent Bush critic. But I have to agree with some of your viewers. Your Bush pieces of late are neither insightful or provocative. Not only are you preaching to the converted (I imagine most of us rocketboom fans are fairly progressive thinkers…hell, we get our TV on the net!) but we’re smart. Don’t tell us what we already know. And don’t keep knocking down paper tigers! If you’re going to talk politics, and you should, you need to bring something to the table.

    love you guys,

    pj

  10. Nice job. I liked this one a lot, especially the elephant. But that could be b/c I am moderately conservative and simply identified with the poor symbol.
We all know that adorable George W. is a border-line idiot much of the time, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any young conservatives among you (not to be confused with the “fairly progressive thinkers…hell, we get our TV on the net!”), who are laughing at your ‘edgy rhetoric’. So to you I say, keep bringing your copy-paste style political opinions, it’s entertaining.
Ahhh, it can be exhilarating to be in the minority… excuse me while I get off my soap box.

what do you mean what joke

The rest of the world realised log ago that bush isn’t really the president, and that it’s just a big practical joke. Can’t you guys just admit it, then we can all have a laugh, and get back to being intelligent life.

Great show. Thanks for taking me around the world for fun-ky new year’s celebrations.

  18. A little harsh back up there in the comments. I think that his is doing quite well for a girl, a map and her little computer thingie. Don’t forget that if brilliance came everyday, we’d all be blind by now. Maybe those who are a little cranky out there are suffering from a week of RERUN’s withdrawal. That was a serious
” Jones” to quote Mayor Wonka of Chocolate City. And I am sure a standard that is hard to kick for may Rocketboom addicts.

  21. Ah, yet another fantastic show! Do whatever you like with your own show, and don’t let critics get to you! (Perhaps this advice is considerably late… hm! ^.^) Interesting… Priate baby? Well, can’t say I saw that coming — same for the elephant though — but still awesomely hilarious, none-the-less.

As for Bush… well, I suppose we all know what he’s so proud to farm at his ranch… ;-)

Thanks for taking us “around the world” (to sound trite, to match the rest of this comment…) to check out the new years celebrations. The Chinese one looked rather fun (albeit confusing…) and who knows WHAT I’d do it one of those German people came to my house dressed like that… Heh!

  25. I don’t think too many people get that 1st Amendment thing that very few countries have. Basically it says: I are free to say what I say and you are free to say what you say. But, it depends on where you say it. As Mark Twain once said: “Never pick a fight with a person who buys ink by the barrel.” That can be updated to: “Never pick a fight with a person who issues ideas by the kilobytes.” Did Amanda say that? She should have! I’m sticking with the paper flinger whether we agree of disagree.

  27. You can whine all you want, but…

Realistically, for a Bush impeachment to take place, there would need to be a change of majority parties in both houses of Congress this November.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I’ll go ahead and predict this will… not happen.

  28. If you were so smart and mature Sasha then why don’t you know how to capitalize sentences? Now I suck!

I guess no boob comments for Amanda.

I still think that Rocketboom is trying to be sucked into the mainstream media. That is why they constantly Bush bash. Why doesn’t anyone from the left ever provide constructive criticism or alternative solutions? Maybe their views and opinions don’t represent the majority of Americans. There was a time in this country when no matter who the administration was that we worked to make this country a better place. Now we just find ways to disgrace the party in power. No wonder why we cannot attract top talent to Congress and the presidency. Keep perpetuating this behavior and you too can join the mainstream media!

If you want some good reading on the purity of the Liberals, read Peter Schweizer’s book “Do As I Say (Not As I Do).

  36. I admit it, I am liberal. In fact, make that very liberal. I therefore find it my duty to disagree with you, Peter. Your first comment, about getting our opinions from the Daily Show and The Onion are simply not true. Of the people I know, only one person reads the onion semi-regularly and about 10-20% watch the daily show regularly.

As for the middle east, are you suggesting Bush is doing a good job? If you are referring to Iraq (yes, that is in the middle east), and you find that he IS doing a good job, maybe you should be looking at what is brainwashing you. However, what you were likely speaking of was the crisis in Israel. Are the two parties any closer to agreement? Definately not! Hamas, the elected party of Palestinians, is bent on the destruction of Israel. Did the “war” (in quotes as it was never declared a war) on Iraq or the “war” on terror (two seperate things) have an impact? Likely. Significant? Possibly.

If a Democrat was elected, he would have NOT acted the same way GWB has. Is this a good thing? I don’t know… it is nearly impossible to predict. Am I 100% sure he would have behaved differently? Yes… different views mean different actions.

Also, what is the point of bragging about your IQ. IQ means nearly nothing, it is what you DO with your IQ that matters. Intelligence measures ability to solve problems, not the ability to understand things. Personally, my IQ is 20 points higher than that, but I’m not going around telling people “I’m right just because I can get a score of 150 on an IQ test”.

In final conclusion, I believe most of your points are invalid (I haven’t touched upon the FDR point as I see no purpose in arguing how the policies of FDR in stopping the mass killings of over 11 million and GWB who’s lives saved minus lives lost possibly net to zero are different).
