Dear Rocketboom,
Rather than honoring MLK with a holiday, (which has become to many a ski holiday), we could all honor him by actually taking his message to heart. Young and old, black and white, Arab and Jew getting together and trying to live in peace.
As for the kids: a day off from school, so get away from the video games for an hour and read a book — MLK would love that.
Our for our president, Mr. W. besides being dihonest and detached from the interests of the common human, he is neither a man of peace, nor a man who values education.

Bush acknowledged last weekend that he authorized NSA to intercept international calls and e-mails but only those linked to Al Qaeda, even if one end of the conversation is taking place in the United States and includes an American citizen.
And while the kids are spending that hour reflecting on the meaning of the day drink a glass of MiLK, which will probably be as close as most most of them will get to having MLK mean something to them. Oh, and as to the politics of this site. It is their site and they can do or say what they want. We can comment and they can choose to listen or not. Wonderful, isn’t it?

I’ve seen the apple vids before on youtube and was rather unimpressed. Apple built their OS on open source which is to be applauded but gave nothing back which sucks. When it comes down to it, it’s just good that people have choice whether that be Windows, OSX, or one of the Linux desktops. With any luck it won’t matter, the web will become our desktop. Cheers!

I find this bashing of my Commander and Chief to be groundless. Though I do appreciate the lefts problem of having nothing better to do than liable and slander there opposition.
Regardless of what anyone thinks of bush, to say bush was illegally wiretapping… WITHOUT considering that it was ENTIRELY for the sake of national security and for monitoring conversations of those LINKED to Al Quaeda members, is rather irresponsible and taken quite out of context.
Perhaps, if this issue weren’t available, and another attack god forbid happened, Amanda’s next show could possibly be about how Bush didn’t do enough to stop this from happening, and how he didn’t even bother monitoring those conversations that perhaps could have prevented an attack.

If I might use a much-abused urban cheer, you go girl! I, too, dream of a world where a president who dallies with an intern gets reprimanded, and a president who starts a needless war on false pretenses and tramples all over civil liberties gets impeached. But, alas, ’tis not to be just yet. But as RB becomes more popular, perhaps common sense will live up to its name again. :-)

Keep the bush bashing coming. So far he has done nothing for the general public, but yet there are still people who think that he actually went out of his way to break the law just for us! Gee thanks mr bush! I feel so protected now!

You liberals just can’t let go can you? You lost. Get over it and try to do something positive for the country. Bush was well within the law by allowing the wiretapping of international calls, and many legal scholars agree. In retrospect, a smarter move would have been for the Justice Department to get a FISA warrent. Pelosi and the other democratic leadership were aware of the activities and did not dissent. Now it is a big issue. Why? Because it is another chance to try to soil Bush and the Republican Party.
None of this would be happening if your buddies the Clintons were on top of things. They allowed 9/11 to happen, the corporate corruption at the beginning of the millennium by lax enforcement at the SEC, and neglected education and the economy. Why aren’t you whining about them? Instead you are busy printing “Hillary for President” bumper stickers.
The Clintons were involved with illegal wiretapping and investigation of citizens while they were in Arkansas and DC. Why wasn’t the press outraged by their behavior? There are several instances where both Clintons broke the law and they have never been indicted. Probably because witnesses keep dying.
Although he is not the sharpest tack in the box and I can’t stand the Patriot Act, Bush and his administration have made this country a better place. The economy is healthy and we are safer. Unless you can come up with a more effective plan, quit wasting my bandwidth.

A Bubba that when it was his turn to lay his life on the line for “freedom” when he was a young man. Bubba had his daddy n senator write him an excuse note that would insure he would never need to serve in a combat zone.
As a republican I don’t need to “get over itâ€Â. I am just truly worried that our once great nation will be able to survive 3 more years of Bubba’s management. The USA is deep in debt n hate by more people than ever before……
