Hey, Can you do bits on what it’s like to go ‘commercial’? Kinda like last friday, but more introspective. It will change things, but how? Do you feel comfortable reading off a press release? (which, is what the first clips sounded like today) Do you feel happy that your providing a valuable service, advertising? This may sound like a baloney, but I think it’ll help us keep our trust in you guys. The honest, ‘al natural’ feel of your show is it’s shtick that can’t be copied.

I think the beauty of Rocketboom is that whomever advertises here will get an earfull from the disenchanted. Unfiltered, maybe unwanted, but very much in the tradition of Rocketboom. They have to know that going in. And, who knows, maybe this form of feedback will lend itself to opening the eyes of certain companies who may be unaware of things that they do that are upsetting. Again, praise can also come their way for the things they do do right. Much like Rocketboom gets dumped on and hosannna’d all at the same time. That is what makes it work. And worth it.

I’m not really Richard Belzer’s kid sister. I’m just Jewish… could be a distant cousin, maybe…???? I dunno.
My father is descended from a Jewish-French lineage (Kittel) that left Canada to live in the Appalachian mountains. My great-grandmother’s family (Hartman) fled to Holland from Germany before the Holocaust. And there was a child at Auschwitz #26947 that is the spittin’ image of my brother and I.
Richard was just the only one who cared enough to make sure I stayed away from the window ledge after I wrote a rather desperately funny essay to him of how his smile helped save my life.
I signed the letter: “Your Kid Sister… kinda, sorta.” ‘Cause I wanted him to know that he reminded me of my big brother who died three years ago (and I wasn’t some silly fan leaving my brain at the door and asking some celebrity to find it for me.)
I will always be grateful whether he believes that he helped me or not… And I will always seek to be kinder than “necessary” for everyone around me is facing some kind of battle. (-Plato)
