Nice. I used to make claymation on 8mm film when I was a kid. I didn’t understand that you had to build a wireframe and after a short time the limbs of my monsters would fall off.
It’s like minature nerds! Cute!
Great story today. I’m excited to see what the next generation of filmographers brings with the introduction at such an early age. My super 8 camera as a kid didn’t take me very far.
too cool!
too cool!
kids + Clay + imacs = dirty imacs.
Excellent! I watched it with my 2 year old. He demands his daily “wocketboom”.
Your show makes my day - everyday!
Outstanding; deserves a Part II.
Maybe Joanne can finally lose the bobby pins in a follow up segment.
That was very interesting to watch. Amazing what those kids did.
loved the show.
everythin fine, apart from rocketboom track just used too often… i don´t want to get tired of it, since it´s a good one. having it almost every episode starts to suck!
Nice to see kids using technology to create rather than wasting mega hours playing video games.
THose were pretty bright kids!
Joanne, do you need different interview skills for kids? Pirate fights and monkey fights? Well at least we didn’t have numa numa dancing monkeys. Yes, i saw the monky off. Still trying to process that. And what was with that one boy’s hair?!
How come the posts in this thread are talking about iMacs? There are no iMacs in this video. You guys are just repeating a brand etched into your mind by the media. Mission accomplished, Apple iMac marketing team. Now, Apple PowerBook/MacBook marketing team, you need to do a better job.
Wow! I am impressed with those kids! We never did anything like that!
Ha, this one brings back memories as I used to make Legomations back in the day and even tricked my teacher at college into letting me do a Legomation instead of a term paper once! Me = bright, Professor = gullible:)
enjoyed it
Hi Joanne… …. Joanne?
JOANNE!… Oh there you are whew, gots to have my daily fix you know. Mmmmm that’s better, Joanne your a knockout, a head spinning mind blowing eye popping knockout.
thumbs up.
get the genius girl who nailed the reflection on the sword to spend an afternoon teaching you how to light and adjust white balance at the rocketboom dorm.
Hey everyone!
Great episode huh! Gotta love it, those kids look pretty inteligent for their age!
If you wanna see some other young film makers, click on my name to link to my site, Divet Productions, and check out some of our exciting stuff…
While I love the Casual Friday RB music, can we lift some music from “Boogie Nights” and get Joanne to ask more guys about “moving your monkee”? It sounds so deliciously naughty.
Yeah, baby!
A song from the Simpsons got stuck in my mind while watching this:
“Children…Children…Future…Future”
Great story — the kids were cool!
As a computer teacher in Denver Public Schools I intend to utilize today’s film and show my kids how technology surrounds them. Thanks for making it usable for young children, and for all that you do!
Could the mention of imac have anything to do with the fact that Amanda just got a new Mac?
Great show today, thanks RB.
Another great casual friday. Amazing stuff! A great week, for that matter. Thanks RB!
Great spot! Just last night… I watched “The Work of Director Michel Dondry” (Bjork videos) which inspired me to start teaching my nephews photography. After watching this I’m fully jazzed. Any further info on the software setup used in the animations would be way helpful.
Opps…. that should be “Michel Gondry” not “Michel “Dondry”…. he makes totally mindblowing videos using stop-motion, motion control and loop techniques. A total kid at heart. Highly Recommended.
I’d love to hear Michel’s opinion on how the internet has affected the world of music video. (hint hint)
I guess you’re doing really well if each new show becomes my favorite. Bring on the kids, I LOVE it!!!!

Hey, I know those guys! Ian, you’re a star, baby!
Great story on a very cool place.
Cheers

Go arts!
Great report! And speaking as a grown-up animating nerd–I loved seeing the kiddies getting into to it so early. Maybe stop-motion isn’t a dying craft after all!
Very brave - and you touched the right
kind of nerve. It speaks volumes of both the viewers and the scope of
the RBR …..
……………….RocketBoomRemit.
You are to be congratulated.
………….sssSSSSSOOOOoooooo….
… congratulations !
Very cute and the kids are cute too. Too cute for rocketboom. Just kidding, interesting stuff.
A very interesting edition, and none of the kids wanted you to change your accent either! :)
Very enjoyable. Those kids are amazing.
s.
Did she really ask if he just moves his monkey a bit? *pulls head out of gutter*
This is a great one!
holy crap did that suck no wonder anyone watches rb anymore
I really enjoyed this story a lot. I would have LOVED participating in a program like that when I was a kid! I’m very glad to see programs like this that encourage creativity AND computer skills in children. Very clever!
Am I the only one that caught the three-legged monkey joke? Now that’s comedy!

Do you think the kids did this one?
Hey this episode is great!!!
Whoa, what fun! I was finger painting in class in third grade in Los Angeles many years ago. Things have moved on a bit. Great to see kids get the Rocketboom attention they deserve.
Whoa, this is totally not working. Bring back Amanda before the audience leaves… or is it already too late?
So, so cool.
The music is what REALLY makes it though.
I’m thinking … maybe I should animate my website. I got a million hits in less than a month, and give away the secret of how I did it. But maybe if I animate my story I will get 2 million? :-)

Happy animation guys - see you in the traffic!
Jonathan
Very interesting!
Your show is only donwloading if I hit play, and then it stops, then I hit play again and 2 seconds plays then stops. What is the problem?
