Now that’s what makes Rocketboom Rocketboom. Highlighting the uniqueness of New York. But what about some poppin’ and lockin’ from Joanne? The caterpillar? At least a little robot?
Hi,
is it really friday, august 8? today
thanx for thr show!
Great show! I agree with Bubba. And I think the girls aren’t trying to ‘be boys’, they’re dancing and showing their strength in a previously male-dominated dance form. That’s yummy.
Bonjour,
following the today video, I wish to introduce a basic reflexion on RB 2.0.
Writing to you from France (cf old Europe), I knew RB. by the means of the Wired magazine.
With Amanda and now Joanne, I always had with the spirit that the discussion thread of this vlog could be the echo of the Net and overall of all that touches with new technologies and associated.
For approximately two weeks, the comments have also made of it share, we started to find this RB. spirit. Today, I personally do not find any link with the evoked one.
To follow,
S.
I want to learn how to do that! That takes some skill! Go girls!
Val Tone’
OH NO YOU DI-AN’T!
6535KB /sec! absolutely crystal clear. i like that!
in the event of things being too colorful in the future, wmp9 users can adjust saturation by clicking on now playing options. Enhancements> Video Settings> adjust saturation to -25 more or less and Joanne looks perfect! Hmm, not one blade of grass today.
With so much negativity, bravo for pointing up positive things. Not tekkie, not faux nouveaux, but kinda cool nonetheless.
I loved that. Joanne is 1000x better when she’s not behind that desk.
Ahhh, Friday. Great report from my old neighborhood…Lincoln Center will always have a special place in my heart.
I agree that Joanne is at her best when not behind the desk. She’s so good when dealing one-on-one with people. Keep up the great work, Joanne.
I wanna dance like that. Got rugburns trying it behind my computer chair. Ouch - my sausage is burning!
I saw the video, but he music kept saying to me “Wanna Fanta.” And I kept seeing the 4 Fanta girls in my head. I too was expecting to see JC Busta move.
Great show! Those dancers are amazing!
I would’ve loved to see Joanne break out the moves!
Whether you’re out in the field or behind the desk, Joanne, you’re always delightful and always up to the task at hand.
Anyone who says otherwise is missing something or simply wallowing in a narcissistic fit of adolescent contrarianism.
Hola!
I’ve made my travel Vlog, http://www.ivebeenplaces.com, inspired by rocket booom. It is a great inspiration.
Let me know what you think! I’m editing and adding new material daily.
Thanks,
Nick
I think I’ve been insulted.
These girls should spend more time in school learning english and how to express themselves clearly.
Obviously, I hate hip-hop.
Great acrobats though.
When will they dance to real music? hehe
Those are my girlz
B*man
Joanne is always a good thing. She shines brightest out in the field.
Enjoyed that. Thanks Joanne
aaaawwww*girlz
Nice one.
Hi, Joanne
Nice field report, your always very entertaining.
Cool - BUT - would’ve been cooler if you’d introduced Krumping and given us all the low down on the next gen’ of BREAK styles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krumping
How about a sequel ?
Wow. Great stuff. This has whet me with eager anticipation of my trip to NYC in a couple of weeks.
cool! I bet both black viewers of Rocketboom really enjoyed this show.
Women are, always have been, and always will be, first and foremost, judged primarily based on the size of their breasts ,slimness of waste, and cuteness of face (see RB hosts)
anything else is nice, but everyone only pretends its important, and it doesnt really count for much. Sorta just like this episode.
Good, but it’s no, “The 9″ on Yahoo!, just kidding, can someone say “rip off”
wow Paul, I thought my comment was right up to the line of racism yet with a hint of humor.
you managed to go way beyond, without the humor.
a quick news search indicates that the event proceeded without incident (of course, it was Lincoln Center ya prick).
like many events, there were a majority of talented black people on stage performing and a lot of pasty, untalented white people admiring.
that this observational demographic might extend to cyberspace was the basis of my previous comment.
Say what you may about Amanda, her animated personality was unique to the point that she could make the banal seem fun and interesting.
Joanne is exceedingly charming, and when allowed to “perform” in skits and such, is both hilarious and entertaining.
But this insistence in reducing her to a B-stringer reporter in the field comes off more like some NYC public access channel.
*yawn* Really.
Furthermore, as with yesterday’s program, by covering topics like the brat-eating contest and the Lieberman web crash, RB is not only covering matter reported by MSM outlets like MSNBC’s “The Most” with Alison Stewart, it is not doing it nearly as well and is not being flattered by the comparison.
Here’s hoping RB can again find a unique voice, and make better use of Joanne’s obvious talents.
Wonderful. All we needed was to see Joanne bust a move, and it would have been perfect.
> At least a little robot?
the british got to be careful about that, since peter crouch did his thing :p
Wow, racist and sexist comments are allowed but my comment is deleted? Thought police your new role model, Drew?

Once more with feeling:

My girlfriend Victoria once said: “Feminists just want the human race to be a tie.”
Great show.
That’s why I admire US citizens, they can find from anything a sexist and racist meaning.
Keep up the good work.
Joanne bears a striking resemblance to Jane Goodall in her salad days. Something about that accent… The only thing missing from this report is a peaked hat.
Pretty good. Gee there’s some tiresome comments here, though. I’d be tempted to delete ALL sexist and racist comments. Maybe I just gotta stop reading the damn things. Thanks Jo and Drew (and nameless others).
To demonstrate the power of joanne colan use this for a backdrop.

Drew was kind enough to write me and explain my previous critical post had been accidentally deleted while attempting to delete a pornographic post.
I was initially taken aback with the thought that Drew, who usually exhibits admirable courage in weathering criticism, was perhaps changing his approach.
Happily, that is not the case.
So allow me to change my snarky prologue from rather than observing Drew is now using the thought police as a model, he continues to use the thoughtful police model. :-)
Please, no more personal, sexist comments about Joanne or what women are like or such. Also let’s celebrate diversity–we are all in this together, in this country and in the world. Rocketboom tries to extend itself to locations far and near. Drew is to be congratulated for that.
Pretty good dancers.
Nice acrobatics. But really, aren’t at least some of these ladies going to regret time spinning on their heads that should have been spent filling it with some knowledge. And, yes, proper english would be a great place to start.
ok. here’s a sexist comment for you. what are women going to be accomplishing 25 years from now? whatever men create and dominate right now.
just watched yesterdays show after a while of not watching any episode at all. got to say it was bad. where is the spirit?
Dry, I just saw your blog and I notice that you found a much better show for yourself:
Entourage
Ruthless, backstabbing Hollywood life to the extreme makeover. Spirit?

Just watched cas-fri and have to agree with filmex. This is not the unique reporting I grew to know and love on Rocketboom. I hope it comes back. Soon.
even though I’m not really a hip hop fan I can still enjoy the politics of dancing. i’m still listening to neil innes(Ruttles)http://www.neilinnes.org/audio/audio.htm. when i saw the file size was 118meg i thought it was going to be longer but was happy to have something to watch!
Goodness! That report brings back memories from High School. Cool stuff.
Love the stories! Only thing better would be to watch the girls in something more feminine! Those clothes have got to GO!
It’s good post. But technical problem with my video iPod. It looks smaller in LCD. 4:3 aspect ratio is same but smaller. Keep doing great. Please!
Knowing that all these girls are about to wrap up their engineering PhD is even more impressive. The future of our country is reassuring.
“Can’t wait to pop that baby out” - wow. So much depth
From my computer at work I can’t see any video clips. Baaaaad. I have only one question (serieously, no joking): who is Joanne colan? Who is Amanda Congdon? Same person? Please explain.
There is something so cool about girls and breakdancing. I don’t know what, but it rocks. I could watch hours of the stuff.
