The show keeps getting better each episode!
I very much like mixing serious and fun.
As for the map, filosophically, instead of a flat map of the earth, why not move a little further in space and show the earth, the viewer, what he really is, a tiny spot in the universe. And not so important as man like to think about themselves etc. Make us realize how tine we are.

Cute hair. Good that it is braided in back….I was afraid it was cut off. RB without tresses is like traveling at the speed of sound without a boom.
Idea for RB map. Why not do the trade up thing like the guy did with the paper clip? It could be an ongoing gag and who knows in a year from now RB could own its own island and we could all visit . Imagine RB Island….

it seems rb page has been hacked by amanda’s fans, it says daily with amanda congdon.
i’ll gift rb with some background ideas:
1) image of drew reenacting liberty statue, instead of the torche he has the rb logo, and on his left shoulder a tiny joan. like it??
2) the same map but zoomed out, rb 2.0 is a step up rb 1.0 so you are higher and such.
3) rocketboom….rocket boom…a rocket…is like you are transmiting from inside a rocket so why don’t you decorate all like a rocket scenario, with the universe in backgrounds and a rocket console??
4) the rb logo repeated in an andy wharholl fashion.
5) put a climbing plant on the background and so one can see it growing, but first paint the wall with bricks and with graffittis saying rb shit or such.
6)wall with graffittis!!!
7)ask a graphic designer and not this bunch of nerds or nerd pretenders to do the job….please!!…

We at the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation are very excited to be working with Rocketboom. Through our Call2Recycle program we wanted to let all the RB fans know that if you all have rechargeable batteries or cell phones sitting around that don’t hold a charge or are not being used, that you can easily bring them into one of over 30,000 retail stores to recycle them.
I am really excited to be going up to NYC this upcoming week for the production of these ads. Andrew and Ellie have been working with us to come up with some very fun and clever ads that I think you will all enjoy. How many days in a row can we rip down the map? If it’s back up tomorrow and gets ripped down again… i dont even know. give us a little credit. some of us are educated.

I like the walker, that is so cool.
Dont worry packie, they will be at the end of the show…and they won’t really feel like watching advertising. We want you to really enjoy watching them and get a laugh each time. It will kinda feel just like another segment/skit added to the show (with an educational message).
Joanne needs to loosen-up a bit. Too stuffy-British. The fun, free-wheeling loose nature of RB 1.0 was the main thing A.C. brought to the table. Preachy on “meat cake” and “deprogramming”… in a smirky, Euro way. Or maybe my underwear is just too tight. Culturally, in America, a person isn’t “called” something, he’s “named.” Picky? Maybe. But RB isn’t the off-the-cuff enterprise it pretends to be. Want to be great, then pay attention to details.

In light of RB’s newfound ad revenue, and today’s stuffed bear story, may I suggest Joanne start a defense fund for the guard dog who went Medieval on the stuffed animals in the museum near Wells, England which houses one of the world’s largest collection of rare teddy bears.
The 6-year-old Doberman pinscher named Barney understandably went bonkers after deciding the stuffed animals were taunting him with their silent treatment and soulless stares.
“He just went berserk,” said Daniel Medley, general manager of the Wookey Hole Caves.
Barney ripped the head off a brown stuffed bear once owned by a young Elvis Presley during the attack, leaving fluffy stuffing and bits of bears’ limbs and heads on the museum floor. The bear, named Mabel, was made in 1909 by the German manufacturer Steiff.
The collection, valued at close to $1 million, included a red bear made by Farnell in 1910 and a Bobby Bruin made by Merrythought in 1936.
The bear with Elvis connections was owned by English aristocrat Benjamin Slade, who bought it at an Elvis memorabilia auction in Memphis, Tenn., and had loaned it to the museum.
“I’ve spoken to the bear’s owner and he is not very pleased at all,” Medley said.
A security guard at the museum, Greg West, said he spent several minutes chasing Barney before wrestling the dog to the ground.
Is there one amongst us who does not feel Barney’s pain? It could have been clown paintings or ventriloquist dummies. Barney did what he had to do. This is NOT an Onion story, but a painful reality of the world in which we live.
One would hope RB would align itself on the right side of this issue.

When Joanne speaks with the guy that hosts RB’s HD versions, it ends somewhat abruptly, giving the impression that Joanne left that poor guy with the words in his mouth. When Joanne said that ” hear it straight from the horse’s mouth”, I did not think she would leave the horse eating alfalfa.
The meat cake?, not my cup of tea, but as something to leave at the birthday’s party of an enemy…

Can we assume that the map is officially gone? I think the thing that’s been missing most from this transition is some decisiveness. Joanne is great and the production quality is back, but it sometimes feels like you guys are dogpaddling your butts off in the middle of a lake while trying to figure out which beach to head for.
Make some thematic choices. Lock down the visuals. Make decisions and stick to them. You guys are solid on the intuition side…just go with it. The waffling back and forth is just disconcerting.
Also:
+ Fix the homepage redirect so that I don’t get bounced to a random episode.
+ What’s with the download times. I’ll echo a previous post in that 2.0 is a lot slower.
I think the new background should be a looping video of Joanne tearing down the map over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
I could have sworn I had submitted that land walker video back last summer… hmmm.

wow … joanne is really seasoning in nicely … she’s just what a vlog like this needs … a truly intriguing personality (and uniquely attractive face). That organizes the rest of the content around her … she becomes the filter … and my what a filter she is.
It occurs to me that what rocket boom should really be about is a user generated media, commenting on and giving exposure to other user generated media …
joanne offers a truly contemporary (even progressive) perspective wrapped up in a classically aristocratic English package.

All this piddly-assed criticism about set dressing from the masses (myself included) is quite silly…Life is far too short to indulge such anality.
I agree with Les; keep whatever and get rid of whatever else, just keep Joanne and Rocketboom.

whatever background you choose, i hope it is not permanent and stationary. i don’t know about you, but i really dislike seeing a sculpture/building/art work/the background of my favorite vlog/et al., forever in one spot never to change — no matter how ingenious or familiar.
i hope the new non-map background will be some sort of morphing, flowing background that is of interest all itself, but not so much that it takes away from the show (but almost). and how bout having a different background for the friday slots, which is a different type show in its own right.
i know it’s probably not technically feasible, but how bout giving the viewer an option — if so inclined — to make their own background if unhappy with what is eventually chosen. this option could come right after the story links — “blue” “red” “hot dog” godzilla” “martini” “nothing” and so on.

It is always kind of funny to me that you have to explain to Americans that you don’t need to throw everything away and that some things can be recycled! Here in good old Europe where we don’t understand the use of war for solving world problems kids are tought in kindergarten to recycle paper, glass, iron, aluminium, organic trash, and even batteries!
To replace the map, the only thing that makes sense, since there are so many fantastic ideas is to have a different background every day.
Plus it would increase the anticipation/gratification each day seeing what is different.
