What a great idea…audience participation…I would do it if I had a camera and some editing software. I can’t think of anything more fun than dinner with Amanda. Why not have a contest where Amanda goes to the winners house for dinner?

Dammit, if you’re going to encode the video in widescreen, then make the final video an actual widescreen resolution! You’ve got your video 320 pixels wide, and the actual CONTENT is 180 pixels tall, yet the video is 240 pixels tall, for a whopping 60 vertical pixels of wasted blank space. Just encode the video at 320×180! Then those of us with widescreen displays can actually take advantage of them!

I think this is all fun and well, but, and this is a serious comment so it may seem out of place but…
I wonder, that what with the zeal that corporations now are patenting nearly everything they can including website features, and then suing people and other companies over it…
Might there not be some risk that let’s say George Pacific will try to patent a website feature like the one you’ve copied, and then use that to prevent others from creating similar websites?
You can feel the creative energy flowing from person to person here, from Brawny Man to Amanda and Drew to nixter to Elvis Ripley and OK Computer… Shivers.

Can I recommend something to you guys how about getting Rocketboom out at 7AM EDT each day? I know that would put pressure on you guys to be early but then people could watch on their own home computers before they go to work at 9AM. I would love to watch the program when it first comes out but I am having to wait until I get home at 6 to watch it but sometimes I forget. So I think that change could boost your ratings. Thanks
