Yeah, we’d do well to get rid of gashogs like the Tahoe. But before demonizing everyone who owns one, ask yourself this: how do *you* get to work? Or the grocery store? Or your vacation to Aspen? I’ve been a big fan of Rocketboom for some time. I enjoy your interesting and irreverent look at Net News. I try to watch you every morning when I get into work.
However, 4 instances of the F-word in one episode are unnecessary and troubling to me. I found it interesting that you used the term “a-holes” earlier, as if just saying what you really meant was a bit over the line. I’m used to that from you and that didn’t really bother me. But later dousing us with the F-word over and over doesn’t deserve the same type of restraint?
Well, it’s NOT OK with me. And I’m a big fan who has sung your praises. So in response to the report you were quoting about who it hurts, I’d just like to say that it hurts ME that you can’t hold back from swearing like that.

there is good swearing and bad swearing and you swear really good/well. the old “swearing is for people who have a limited capacity to express themselves, blah, blah, yadda…” that’s bullshit. the thing about your swearing is that it has character, humor and style.
i have to be honest when i first started watching rocketboom i thought you were a little dorky but i now see the genius in your style — love the show and love you even more, way more, tons.
oh, btw this may sound ridiculous but what if we didn’t try to conserve fossil fuels and instead try to use them up as quickly as possible? and when they were gone or near gone, wouldn’t that give the needed economic incentives to move on to something rational?

no, not a nicole look alike. nicole is attractive no question but she is a bone, in my opinion. amanda is smart, funny has, what appears to be, the right curves in the right places. mostly amanda has that intangible thing. i think its a humor about herself that is very appealing. (to me anyway)

This is a story about a young woman about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a liberal Democrat, very much in favor of the distribution of wealth.
She was embarrassed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. She felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish, desire to keep what
he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes for the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the
truth and she indicated so to her father.
He responded by asking how she was doing in school. She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that
it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult
course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go
out and party like other people she knew. She didn’t even have time for
a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she
spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?”
She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by, college for her is a blast.
All she takes are easy classes, never studies, and she barely has a
2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus, she’s always invited to all the
parties, and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because
she’s too hung over.”
The father then asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend
who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have 3.0 GPAs — and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPAs.”
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired
back, “That wouldn’t be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades!
I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done
next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail
off!”
The father smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the Republican Party.”

Rocketboom is a wrapped present you get 5 days a week and you can never anticipate what will emerge from your fertile minds. Let people complain. At least you’ve given them a place to vent.
