  1. Great vlog…and I agree totally with him regarding bush sucking (well lets just say that’s always a given), but I wonder what he means by the Clinton Admin strategy of working with the “reformist.” I think that this approach might have been seen as the US meddling in foreign governments again, and Iranian nationalists using this as further propoganda against the US.

  2. I really liked his view on things. He seems very smart. You have to wonder though, if the previous commenter is right about how well such “attempts to encourage democracy” would be seen by the population on a whole.

  3. What did he sat after the word Pakistan and before the word Saudi Arabia? I noticed a cut.

  4. Unfortunately, the US Iraq policy has convinced many nations that either you have nucs or the US will invade you. In addition, any sort of negotiation with an “axis of evil” country will be very difficult.

  7. I have to agree with Bonnie. I realise the work involved with just getting one show out a day, but it is nice to be able to visit a few times a day and find new material.

Best of luck to you and your new editor.

Well, if Iran really wanted democracy, they’d be building Wal Marts instead of nuclear plants. What the world needs is another nuclear plant, then again, does the world need another Wal Mart?

Maybe Amanda could go to Beijing and interview a blogger over there. But first she’s have to do Tai Chi at 5 in the morning. You could probably find a Wal Mart exec to translate.

  9. Wait, so this government shouldn’t have nuclear weapons, but future governments should? This is the stupidest arguement I’ve ever heard. Who knows what the future holds? I know, let’s give them nuclear capabilities and then take them away when it no longer suits us. I’m sorry, I mean let the people of Iran take them away from their government in times that they feel their elected leaders are no longer responsible.

  10. Drew,

After watching the interview and responding, I went back and read the other comments. You’re thinking of censoring comments that you find offensive? Please tell me this is a joke. I think jimster was right on. Way to serve up the powder-puff questions to this guy.

Great piece, good interview. Interviews dont have to be in your face interrogative, that’s just a news style inherited from the coroporate media. I call it false-adverserial.

Sometimes its good to just let a subject play-out.

    And some off-beam comments…

“Well, if Iran really wanted democracy, they’d be building Wal Marts instead of nuclear plants.”

    C’mon - get a grip.

I oppose nuclear power, but I also support a countrys right to self-determination.

    That’s all the guys saying.
