How do you make the thumbnails at the bottom of your webpage only show up 8 at a time? I am using the meefeedia feature, but I only want the 8 to show up. not the entire archive of my vlogs.
Loved the music.
Was it yours, Andrew?
I know you guys dig the half life bit but can we move on to some new topics? I personally like the news features and feild trips but I’m not hating half life just opioning
Also what the obsession with asking how you make money, many internet phenoms dont make money
Hi,
Your Vlog is great, I placed it on my web site directory, under “Interesting”.
Appreciate the effort you put in and
your nice sense of humour.
Rolf
I came to see this from the Second Life Forums! :D
Regarding Secondlife being a browser… that is an apt comparison. No, you do not have to walk/fly around to find things, although that method is very entertaining. There are search facilities built-in to the “browser” to locate things, people, events. They are adding new capabilities every few months. I hope at some point you will be able to transact real world business in SL, for example exchanging documents, and files, actually browsing the Web from within SL.
The idea is that you will work with your computer in a 3D interface, and within that interface you will do 2D things too. This is the concept behind the new 3D interface next version of Windows, although I don’t think Microsoft has taken the concept nearly as far as SL. Hopefully it will be possible to take advantage of the new 3D Windows stuff in SL. On the other hand, one nice thing about SL is that it works equally well on Windows and OS X. They are also working on a Linux version, and some people are already using Linux to run SL, but with the changes they are making, hopefully it will be an easier set-up than it is currently.
Will they find a way to charge us rent for the right to live in virtual houses?
Second Life is a platform, not a browser. We have already seen new users that have come to us via Rocketboom. To fully appreciate our world, you really have to delve in. It is a free download, and the initial character is also free. Please come see us, and tell them Baccara Rhodes sent you. Please find e and I will me more than happy to get you started & answer questions for you.
Welcome to your Second Life !
Hi! Second life looks real fun, it will be interesting to see it fly. I’ve tried a few similar solutions, but none of them stuck, I fiddled a little, drifted around alittle, read up and talked a little about the technical aspekts, about Willam Gison/Neal Stephenson, the economical aspekts and did a blabla session about the coolness of selling virtual objects, but after that I usually never log on again, maybe once or twice after a few months just to give it another chance.
I wish I know what it is about virtual worlds that just doesn’t work. Perhaps second life is better, if you can easily build things, but then again it seems like you have to kiss ass to get land, or buy, which means I have to invest alot before even trying it out in a way that will let me know if it is worth the investment in time and money. In other words a chicken or the egg situation, even before I download and test. Not promising.
I belive a virtual world must be as open as the web itself, giving the users unlimited freedom to create and build and interconnect. Every topdriven model will fail.
