At least you admit that you “strategically piece together footage”. That cannot ever be avoided. It is like a conversation, if the footage wasn’t placed together to prove a point then it would be boring and viewers would get lost and a mixed message.

it’s all very good to have such opinions after the fact - from the comfort of your own home. but what would anyone be doing that was being shot at?! would a person reallybe thinking - ‘hmm - let me break down this violent situation i’m stuck in the middle of piece by piece’…
the entire video on the 2nd draft site seems intent on basically saying the palestinians faked the entire thing.
its the same as when terrorists use the net to spread their own hate and vitriol -= the 2nd draft website is no better.
i think he’s got a point. i also think that rocketboom is a conspiracy. you would have us believe that amanda is actually a being from space floating high above earth casting her shadow across asia, but if you look carefully you’ll see a desk and if you squint just right… yes.. you’ll see an ARMCHAIR! the truth is out there :P

That ambulance would have literally had to be within line-of-sight to pull up that quickly behind an injury. And with “all that fighting” going on, how could that possibly so? Was there an entire fleet of ambulances in the immediate area? There should have been blood, even on the back of the leg.
I think Amanda’s ultimate point is that all newscasts, including hers, are pieced together to make a point.

With such an entertaining and stimulating video blog, and the obvious time and effort that goes into it, do you ever get discouraged from all the post about your looks: hair, clothes, glasses, makeup, etc.?

Judging if the footage is real or staged is irrelevant. With either answer, we are still left with the same answer- two sides that can not work together to find peace.
If this guy has ever been in a combat zone, he’d know that ambulances run continuously 24/7, only stopping for gas and dropping off wounded. Not a minute goes by that you can’t hear the sirens blaring in these types of areas. It’s just a conspiracy theory, and that should say it all. Real life is always better than fiction, let’s just report on that.
Hey Drew, I have a few questions I was hoping you’d answer:
1. What codec do you use for the default QT rb files? (I forget if you mentioned this on your software page)
2. If a typical rocketboom QT file was converted into flash, about how big would that file be?
3. Approximately how much would it cost to have a server similar to yours with 100mb/s sitting on a 1gb pipe, and unlimited bandwidth (I’m assuming it’s unlimited - I remember you saying that you now average 12tb/month)?

Manipulating footage is a very old trade that news broadcasters all around the world do on a regular basis. Now, on this particular case I can see the shots being fired, and believe me, if I was shot in the leg and people are pulling me up an ambulance, I’m not going to say: “Oh plese, stop because you’re hurting me…”
It’s good to quetions material like this, but i think that in this shot, Mr. Landes is wrong.

I watch often but rarely comment. Just wanted to say this was a good one. It’s somewhat easy to see propaganda in mainstream news, but a lot of people don’t seem to notice the propaganda in anti-propaganda messages.
