  3. Amanda, you should be pledging membership for the Ts like we do for ours in public radio…

Can we expect coffee mugs, mouse pads and all the other crap we give you in return for your 50 bux?

  12. Amanda et al,

As usual, a fine broadcast. RB is something I always look forward to, which brings me to this …

Amanda, thank you for wearing the jacket. I don’t mean this in a negative way at all, because you’re cerebrally stimulating as well as physically so. It’s just that, so often when I watch RB, this war between the primal and the cerebral goes on with me. “Wow, that’s a really insightful interview / commentary about what it means to be of Iranian descent in these times” is so often interspersed with “Wow, this is one of the most beautiful girls i’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing.” In other words, Amanda is as visually captivating as she is intellectually, and sometimes it’s difficult to keep a balanced perspective. When the balance starts to shift towards the more primal part of me, little things like a jacket help keep me in check :-)

I’m hopeful that i’m not painted with unflattering colors as a result of this posting, but when a person is open and honest with themselves as well as others, they’re more comfortable expressing themselves as well as dealing with the repercussions of said expression. Like the rest of us, I am a student of life as much as I am a teacher.

    Regards,

    John

  19. Amanda, you should probably do a story about all the guys that ask you out, because you’re really HOT. Especially in that T-shirt.

  20. Great website you have here! This will be the future of video blogging I tell ya.

Just my opinion about your Oct 6 take on online video tools - while I feel Quicktime is good for streaming video, it’s not such a suitable application for the average home user.

The average home user who just wants to transfer video from his or her camcorder to a DVD would do better to explore stuff like Ulead VideoStudio or Adobe Premiere Elements.

  21. To Adan:

Funny you should mention the Maryland Renaissance Fair. I used to go to that one every year, but never shot video at any of them. I shot the footage at a Fair just south of Boston. The jousting was better there than MD, not that I’m an expert or anything.

Anyway, thanks for including the footage….

Andrew… thanks for sharing your setup; I wish others would as well. Would you also let us know what you’re using for mic’s , mixer, etc.?

BTW, for my own video work (PC-Based) I used to use Premiere but never found it intuitive. So for the last few years, I’ve been a Vegas convert. Check it out, it’s great! The UI reflects more of an engineer’s point of view so is clearer. It does everything. You mentioned Avid.. I’ve never used it always thought it was very high end w/special hardware. ??

At any rate, thanks for the great shows,

    -JR

  30. Hi I looked at your suggestions for video compression they look absolutely fascinating. I would like to know more about setting to produce great quality .mov files using Quicktime. What settings do I need to have. You had advertized that you will be putting out the setting later.

    Thanks
