  2. Your vblog is absolutely fucking brillant. I first heard about vblogs 2 months ago, I had no idea what a vblog was and a friend suggested I check out rocketboom.com .
    I’ve been hooked ever since.
Today’s edition was the best I’ve seen, which is what finally motivated me to get off my sorry ass and let ya’ll know you are doing a BRILLANT job. Since moving back to the US after living 8 years in europe, your daily reports are a delight, far better than anything on cable….NBC,ABC, FOX….etc.
I am now putting together, or I should say, learning how to put together a vblog of my video’s from traveling across europe, parties in switzerland, a glass factory in Myanmar/Burma, living in London, living in The Netherlands, living in Switzerland, etc., etc., etc.
All because a friend suggested I ‘check out’ your site.
I graduated from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, top of my graduate class. I have been a freelance Illustrator/Graphic Designer for 20 years. Since “Discovering” rocketboom.com I have viewed hundreds of sites. Nothing came close to what you guy’s and gal’s are doing.

I am Learning the technology, getting my video tapes in order, excited as hell and all thanks to viewing your site.

    Thank you, job well done.

  5. “Hate the record number of “F” word used today. Please keep it clean.” I’m totally cool with the language used, but I guess we simply have different opinions on that matter:)

By the way, this is my first visit to Rocketboom, and even though I’m from a Europe, thus not absorbing all the punchlines due to lack of local knowledge and American culture in general, I still found the cast entertaining and even meaningfull (i.e. the comment about photograpy in sub-ways - that’s good news folks!). I’ll check in tomorrow and the day after that and see if my “dayly visits” across the pond will be part of my rutine.

  9. bravo! I love this one! and NOT just because I’m in it… I loved the short quick one liners. I was happy to have my inner question answered about your swearing policy :) I figure, as long as the FCC doesn’t reign over this, our thoughts and ability to produce vocal sounds, might as well go ahead, especially when Rush Limbaugh is involved.
I contacted the scrolling buckle place because they don’t include whether or not it works with Mac or PC… A lot of those things only work with PC unfortunately.
Also, for more stuff like that, check out LightAttack:

And yes, I don’t feel pretty today. Nor look it. But I must push on and vlog the day away…
Thanks! (For everything) My parents got to see me in the New York Times, yay!
kudos and cheers, and a toast to Rocketboom!

  11. Wow. I’m actually upset at the amount of people who CARE about not hearing a swear word. Not the “F” word, oh no! Nobody should be offended at a swear world not even directed at them over the age of 8. That’s so upsetting there were 2 complaints.

  12. I too liked your vblog. It’s the first one I’ve ever seen. Jeff Jarvis’ link sent me here.

As for the use of vulgar language, I find its gratuitous use offensive. Of course, Limbaugh haters might find it fitting for the “pod-cast” portion.

  13. I had been introducing my daughters to vlogging and rocketboom had become a favorite. But today’s episode was a bit embarrassing for me to play for them. I had to stop it because of all the “F” words. Let’s just say that my wife wasn’t impressed with me. LOL

I know some of you enjoy liberal usage of the “F” word, but it is a vulgar term and many people find it offensive, including myself. You can cheekily tell me to go do anatomically inaccurate things with myself, but that won’t make the word any less vulgar. Self-righteous religious bigots aside, many people simply don’t like hearing the “F’ word and will stop tuning in. Because it was used so gratuitously in this episode I am reluctant now to recommend rocketboom to others who are new to vlogs. And now I’m going to have to prescreen this show before letting my daughters watch it. Thanks.

On the positive side, I loved the high five, and that scrolling belt buckle was a riot. ;D As for format, I’m rather used to what you have and like it. However, as long as Structure doesn’t get in the way of your quirky humor and silly video clips, having a more organized broadcast with recurring categories might work to your advantage.
