It’s important to note, these suicide attacks are, for the most part, on Iraqi police officers, and Iraqi civilians. That is not to say their lives are any less important then American soldiers, but it does point to a shift in the conflict. The insurgents are trying to destabilize a free independent Iraq, who is trying to govern itself democratically by targeting the authority that’s currently in place.
It is my opinion that Iraqi’s will continue to step up… filling police and government positions, in spite of these attacks, because they want to take an active role in the future of their country. This is how the fight against the insurgency will be won.

This was an excellent edition of Rocketboom. And Disney and Time Warner, as well as the FCC can drown in their own misfortunes for all I care. The way I see it, this world will always have some corp. or political conglomerate watching over our shoulders and breathing down our necks at all times. It is truly sad.

I may be the minority voice here. but I would prefer to drop the political parts of the vlog. Technology reporting is what I come for, the political parts just annoy me. Maybe split that part out into a separte vlog. I might watch that once and awhile, but if I have to continually watch political stuff, I might as well turn on CNN.
Other than that, I love the vlog and I have been returning daily since I found it.

HOMICIDE bombers has only been used by the Bush Admin. and their mouthpiece, Fox News. Nobody else is using the silly term...and it's certainly not mainstream or "correct" by any means. Bombers can kill people, but Suicide Bombers kill themselves as well as other people. That's the distinction. Using HOMICIDE only muddies the meaning...for purely political purposes.
About the Google Video: there is already a patch that allows you to play whatever video-content you fancy, thanks to the (in)famous DVD-Jon. God bless him.

Amanda, I'm generally supportive of the war but not very impressed with this administration's execution of it. I think they're elitist boobs, to be honest. So when Americans like you become upset about the casualties, and the Bush administration is tight lipped about their plans, I can feel your anguish. But it's not all pointless.
There is a blog by an Iraqian doctor and his brother that you might want to check out, especially his blog entry today (http://iraqthemodel.blogspot.com/2005/06/talk-less-think-more-and-do-more.html). We don't get to hear Iraqian voices like this much in America. The media focuses more on the shocking parts of war, namely the casualties, but many Iraqis feel the casualties are worth the cost. Omar describes how many Iraqis feel about the death and casualties going on around them. He doesn't idolize Americans like some clueless lapdog, but neither does he rail against their presence in Iraq either. He strikes me as healthily balanced. I don't know if you'll agree with his point of view, but it's intelligently expressed and you might find it informative. Maybe it will help you feel less stressed about the war. There is some good being done despite the current administration's bumbling.
