Where high rollers, lower roller and hair rollers all hang out together

So VLOG SANTA is now wearing Amanda’s glasses. Interesting, I wonder how that exchange went down?

That kid looks cracked out to me. Maybe he should also get a pair of Amanda glasses to hide the glaze…

  4. I think it an appropriate metaphor: in the vlog santa peice, Amanda loomed over santa in the background, just like Rocketboom seems to loom over the vlogspehere with it’s size and coolness.

So, Drew, don;t you hate haing to recompress the movie because you forget to hit the fast start check box? Happens more than i care to admit.

  5. >note: in addition to chapter markers, rocketboom quicktime versions now contain embedded hyperlinks; at any time, click on the video to launch the related story link

Bravo to that. Now i gotta figure out how to do it, too. I’ve been wishing for clickable video for a couple years now. Luckily, there’s people smarter than me who can actually implement it.

  6. It’s a minor point, I admit, but the anal retentive side of me couldn’t resist.

The term “biker” generally refers to people who ride motorcycles, while the term “cyclist” is normally used to refer to those who ride bicycles. Granted, I do both, so does that make me a bi-cyclist?

  7. Some more information on that Latte Art!
This is a competition held every year by “Cappuccino” fans and “espresso” drinkers to compete you got to train yourself with the most perfect cafe latte, wich means making coffie for about 15 minutes and then ruining it making a drawing in it. well, i think they should just drink it! making competitions about making drawing in special sorts of coffee.

weirdo’s…. and there from my country :(

well, as for christtypher kringles… man… he’s one sick santa helper!

  9. Down here in sunny Puerto Rico, we sip Starbucks and read the NY Times cover-to-cover every Sunday. This Sunday was special. Congrats, you two. You do nice work!

  10. It’s funny that both Santa and Coke were featured today, since in the 1930s Coke decided to use Santa’s image to spur consumption of their product through the winter months. The artwork of the Coca Cola illustrator Haddon Sundblom has become iconic, and helped transition Christmas from a religious observance to a largely commercial one. That said, I can’t stop drinking Diet Coke.

  11. Hmmm, Coke and Santa in one Rocketboom episode. Before Coke started to use Santa in their ads, Santa had a Dutch background related to the “Sinterklaas” celebrations of old Dutch settlers. And the Dutch are from the Netherlands, where they have this Latte Art thing. And Latte Art is performed with Espresso, witch has the same abundance of caffeine like regular Coke! You see, there’s more behind a Rocketboom episode than most people think…

    Go Rocketboom!

  12. All I want for Christmas is for vlog Santa to stick to one accent during his bits. I can’t tell if he is from Jersey, Hispaniola, or Sesame Street.

I have to agree that the Coca-cola corporation is a huge mass of evil. When I drown my kittens, I use Pepsi products instead.

    Congrats on the Tivo thing.

    To Jimster and his numbers:

“Just a little news about greenhouse emissions [...] realize even though the US did not sign off on Kyoto, our emissions have gone up 13.6% since The Kyoto base line(1990.)Canada is up 24.2%, Ireland 40.3%,The Netherlands, 13.2%”

Well, if I agree that increases in those countries is a bad thing, I think here Jimster should put some perspective: the USA are one of the biggest polluter … increasing 13% of, say 100 for the USA, is certainly worse and should not be compared with an increase of 40% of, say 10 for Ireland or Netherlands, very small countries in size, activity and population.

So don’t try to say indirectly that the USA are bad but less than the others: they are worse than almost anyone … they are part of the biggest polluters (let’s not forget countries like China, which btw does not publish true data and underestimate the reality), they don’t want to make any significant effort (need another New Orleans ?), and as Tanya pointed out with Coca Cola, the American companies pollute also other countries.

ps: doesn’t mean other countries like France, Germany and Co are saints, unfortunately. So instead of searching who pollutes or waste more, let’s stop that… fast.

  14. Hi,

    Way to Go!!!!
    Embeded Hyperlinks…
    Perfect! Cool! Usefull! Practical!!!

I think this technology is SO NEW, that you might have to keep that “Note: in addition to…” up in the site a long time, as people are used to “watch” but not click on the video. And if you haden’t that “Note” I would have never clicked on it. Pretty awesome.

I hope you guys teach us how to do that. Cause its very useful… for example Steve’s Vlog Soup, that would be very cool.

  17. Hi,

    Love the show.
But please can you try and preserve the fantasy of christmas. Kids do look at rocketboom. It just seems these days that the fantasy is ruined by the media, and not by a child growing up.

    Happy Christmas

  19. that skit doesn’t ruin any fantasy of christmas…..it never says anything about real or not. in fact, it clearly displays confusion and uncertainty, not denial.
