“God is a concept by which we measure our pain.”
John Lennon
Born John Winston Lennon, October 9, 1940.
Died John Ono Lennon, December 8, 1980.
Interesting feature, that chapter marking. Seems to work okay for me. Won’t be long before everyone’s doin’ it!
You trendsetter!
So is this the 1st commercial with more to come?
The Creative Player may support more video codecs and have a longer battery life, but it does not have “much more” storage capacity. It actually has a capacity of 30GB, which if you remember, the smaller one of the two ipod models has. The bigger one even has 60GB. Also the Creative Player is about twice as thick as the ipod, besides of being butt-ugly.
Is the beating heart pillow similar to the audio pillow they’re developing in the military to help soliders in combat sleep better?
Amanda artist, Amanda model … Amanda journalist … euh, no, no,no not this one …
The new feature is interesting … but in fact, I love watching ALL the video, and my favorites topics are accessible through the links below or by scrolling.
Have a good day everyone.
Life is good. Enjoy the piloow experience.
Rocketboom sucks.
I personally find a certain irony with the Whirlpool commercial.
Someone I know was telling me that their Maytag washer (7-8 years old) needed repairs and they inquired at a local store about possibly buying a new one. The sales clerk informed them that it would be better to get the old one repaired as the newer Maytag products are of a lower quality (to increase the frequency of buying new products??). He told them the old one would probably outlast any of the newer ones.
I guess ‘Ole Lonely’ won’t be so lonely anymore.
To top it off, Whirlpool is looking to buy Maytag.
Things that make you go hmmmm..
Amanda, everything about you is completely and totally alluring. From the bubbly personality to the voice to the slight crook in the nose, (hoe did you break you rnose anyway) I am captivated everyday. If i forget to watch your blog, I will realize it on the way home and have to log in as soon as I step through the door. Anyway, keep up the good work. Have a great Holiday.
Brett - quite a typo you’ve got there
This linking thing is pretty good. I like it. I don’t know what it’s good for, but hey that’s what they said about cars. Of course they were right. Speaking of right, it’s hard being from South Dakota and seeing the tallest building in the state - a feed mill - NOT falling down. Oh well….despite that, it’s still a very nice place to live, especially if you have kids. There are many lessons to be learned about blowing up buildings - I’m sure.

That chaptering thing seems to work great, guys. Even more impressive is the link within quicktime.
Your chapers even worked in iTunes, but the links didn’t seem too. That’s why i haven’t used them yet. i find itunes is the video player for the few folks who have subscribed to me.
i like the chapters feature for jumping back to review a segment. and the “whirlpool experiment” was interesting…
perchance were you wearing Rocketdogs to compliment the plunging neckline? and to facilitate the “exit stage right?” or is that stage left?
inquiring minds want to know…

I liked the old school whirlpool add. Too bad that there headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI would have “outsourced” had not the city given this industrial giant huge tax breaks to stay in town.
ps
you looked wonderful today ;)
endangered species……lol
What’s up with the Whirlpool commercial? It’s conservative, Americana rhetoric doesn’t match the Rocketboom demographic. Or, does it???
great show amanda, great show. Can you do me a favor though, and include the X3 trailer at the end of your next show, my quicktime’s screwed up. Thanks a ton amanda!
Shut up Slateman. Filthy n00b.
… Anyways, the show was great, as always. Though that Whirlpool ad was kinda out of place. & I don’t really think I’d like to see banner ads & pop-ups on Rocketboom. The layout’s clean; maybe you should keep it like that.
TeraLink Was Here! ;-)
I can’t understand why people keep compaining about the ads, even old RB’s viewers like TeraLink.
Guys, you will have plenty of time to discuss and complain when Amanda and Drew will do paid advertising (if they do it one day), and will let you know it.
So now, keep it easy, relax and enjoy the show.
This ad was intersting and funny (or scary if you have invested in the company ;)
Hi, I like the chapter option on the player very nice.
I haven’t seen the movie Space Cowboys for a while, but didn’t they have a hula girl? They could be using it as a accelerometer or for gyroscopic feedback :D
The ad was included for the sake of the style, get it! It’s interesting to see ads like that, people usually remember the ad and not what it is for :)
i really dont get the ad…… what does it mean? why is it there?
and try clicking the hyperlinkquicktime thing, holding down mouse button, and moving up and down between real mystery and create zen. Make Amanda dance!(and look funny)
Excellent what you found there Eklen: now I appreciate a lot more this new feature: we can see Amanda dancing, jeje :)
The ad is here because they liked it and wanted to share it with us … the ad, not the products sold by the company.
Amanda, sure you didn’t thought viewers could make you dance with the new ‘hyperlinkquicktime thing’ :) one is always suprised how people can find unexpected ways to use things :)
I love the new chapter menu. Reallly really cool.
my internet explorer version 6.0.2900.2180.xcpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 crashes 50% of the time i launch rocketboom. this started happening the day after you dedicated one of your episodes to something called firefox. coincidence? hardly… conspiracy? absolutely!. I don’t want to have to figure out whether you or microsoft is the culprit. can you think of any other way to resolve this problem?
Dear Amanda and Drew,
I love the vintage commercials. And it’s always strange to look back to when Leslie Nielson was still a ’serious’ actor. Rocketboom ruleth!
ps
can I hold out any hope for black RB tees?
Another hair-up sighting (in the beating heart ad)! This avid fan loves to see The CongBabe with hair up or pulled back. I’ve got the recent ponytail episode preserved as a bookmark-in-stone. Amanda, I beseech thee, I’m begging, pleading, imploring, and praying, please put the hair up once a week. yore frend, jb
“Today we are “ALPHA” running a new feature with chapter markers and hyperlinking.”
