  4. Brian, you’ve been watching Rocketboom long enough to think that the Cindy Sherman piece was “too mainstream” but are only NOW surprised that it’s whacko-left-wing? Get your head out of your ass, bud. Anyway, I’m an anarchist, and this piece made my bowel movements arrive a little early this morning.

  5. I mean Cindy SHEEHAN. Unless someone can confirm that it’s not, in fact Cindy Sherman.

  6. I’m not sure i follow the opening segment with Amanda asking about flowers for the “client in Texas.” Is it insulting that I have to ask?

You know, Rocketboom, I agree with everything you cover that I agree with but when you do something I don’t agree with I think you totally suck.

You suck for posting stories you think are “cool” instead of tiptoeing around the people who are pro-Bush or anti-Nike. You suck for having correspondents with opinions instead of having a bunch of lawyers and marketers tell you what is P.C. or what gets the highest ratings. You suck for showing me the work of both that liberal Steve Garfield and that Army guy James Keever, or even that SMS guy who’s just so… European.

You suck for “experimenting” evrey once in a while when you could just stick Amanda behind a desk every day and show funny videos. You suck for posting things I don’t always expect out of you. You suck for not capitulating to the loudest voices of the few. You suck for not mirroring my opinions exactly. So what I’m trying to say, Rocketboom, is that you suck at being Me.

  8. Thanks for the footage. I registered to go to our local vigil, but things didn’t work out and I didn’t make it. It’s great to see everyone standing together.

  10. Face it people, like it or not, right or wrong, we are in Iraq. We cannot go back. These people that want to pull out scare me. The sad truth is we can’t because if we do, there’s no telling what kind of madness we’d leave behind. We’re in this mess now, and we have to see it through.

  11. 1. david rovics sounds remarkably like the mountain goats. 2. the qualitative ramification of this and most protests results in “awareness” while the quantitative results in “zilch.” 3. (happy smiley) + (sad smiley) = bigger bar tab.

  14. some of us were recently talking about ‘what can we do?’ and you have just done it. cindy sheehan demonstrates the difference one person can make in the world and rocketbooom has shared that with us. i love you and maybe i’ll see you in crawford.

  17. There is anger in the land on both sides. There are extremists on both sides.

In the middle are real people with different points of view trying to accept a terrible situation.

The easy answers left long ago. This nationwide action was a positive peaceful response to unanswered questions.

Until we re-connect on common ground it is gonna be this way. Divided, we are falling, falling, falling…

  21. My wife and I support Cindy Sheehan’s questioning of the current oval-office occupier’s reasoning (excuses) for invading Iraq. The real enemy, Al-Qaeda , is still loose and operating, practically, unhendered.

My son’s life is worth more than Haliburton’s bottom line. Until I see bush’s daughters driving supply trucks over bomb-infested roadways in Iraq, in addition to the sons and daughters of all of the other chest-thumping desk-warriors, I will oppose the Iraq invasion. The destruction of Al-Qaeda around the world is where we should be focusing our efforts.

    ‘Nuff said.

I hated the signs, America stands with Cindy. I’m an American who fought in the first Gulf War and don’t stand with any of those people. I support the cause of doing away with a Dictator who was doing to his people what Hitler did. Are we to sit and look the other way while millions die each day from a little Hitler? I support the war. If my sons would have to go and they volunteered, I would be sad but I would support the cause. If Ms. Sheehan and those who stand with her is support of letting Micro Hitlers continue killing in the name of peace can’t see that what’s really happening then they have a problem.
There was also a father who went there and demanded that a cross with his sons name be removed from there little protest. He was proud of his son and supported what his son did. His son didn’t deserve to dye but he believed in what he fought for.
That is why I am proud to be an American, proud of having served with the United States Army and as an American DOES NOT stand with Sheehan. I am sorry for her son but if Iraq gets democracy then it was a greater cause.
