I found Adobe Breeze to be more stable than Team Viewer, but Team Viewer was always ‘way’ faster than Breeze. While Team Viewer would regularly lose connection, there was no lag between what I did and what I saw, as opposed to Breeze.

O geez, Songbird used to be so good. I got it when that shit was still on the Alpha and I loved it. But then it got ‘updated’ and it takes sooo much RAM to run and it just refuses to work when you have over 1000 songs imported. And this is seriously a problem for a guy like me with 4000+… lol. But it was good when it lasted. It just needs to slim down and I’d get it again. WinAMP really is the best though. :]]
I know more companies that use Windows and Linux together then either Windows or Mac alone or together. Plus linux users are on the rise, I converted not too long ago and I love linux. Maybe you should start doing linux apps.
Also, I’ve been using Songbird for a while, never even touched iTunes. Macs are over-priced and under-powered.

Teamviewer is EXTREMELY scary. As a security professional, I would beat any employees to death who installed that. If you need to share files, put them on the company file server. If you need to get in remotely, use the VPN. If you don’t have them, you need better tech staff.

Songbird is an awesome app for many reasons… but it also takes like 10 seconds to load when starting up which is ridiculous for a music player.

I use Things, and it’s really great. I’m done looking for software to manage stuff I need to remember, tasks of various kinds etc.. And the iPhone sync is genius. I normally look for freeware/opensource software, but I am very happy to have paid for this. … And no - I am also not paid to sell this :-)

I suggest you do two more things
One, a video file player. So many people use VLC, but I personally find Zoom Player one of the best ever, and it is so much less RAM consuming. It’s also more compatible, and has a larger selection of codecs than almost any other player I’ve ever experienced. Definitely my favorite.
Two, Maybe the best kind of anti-virus software? Maybe you could do a free and paid one, and just make good suggestions.
The only other thing I would suggest is maybe something artsy? Something that is more casual and capable than photoshop(and legally free!)

Gotta say the one about the passwords I don’t like. I have a few passwords and usernames that I use and I just vary them by 1 or 2 letters each go around. No need to let some software company see what my bank password is.

I guess how people now are desperately racking their brains to find out some suggestions for Mrs Rountree, pretending they care a lot about the helpful applications. I don’t need to feign any interest in the subject in order to freely bow down at Milady’s behest.
ReminderFox for Firefox. It has a great to do list and a reminder (where you set a time/date). And it has repeats for birthdays (every year) or Salsa class (every week).
The “Gmail Notifier” is also a must have for me as well as ForeCastFox.
AdBlock plus is also a must. Some pages are alsmost unviewable without blocking the flash-ads.
Chrome 4 has recently been released and it has also already a big library of plugins. Maybe a future rocketboom looking into this also.
Seriously, is there anyone sexier than that rocketboom gals?

I strongly recommend ‘crossover’ for osx ;D
It allows you to install windows apps through osx and run them in osx natively. it removes the need for bootcamp, doesn’t take up much space and runs pretty fast. its faster then rebooting your computer in boot camp just to quickly run one app (for example a keygen, not that i’d ever do that ;p)

FIREFOX???? HA! I use Opera and its password wand words wonders. I need not use an extra program that I need to add on to Foxes better looking sister that is whole and not needing extras when ever I need something more. Firefox used to have the greasemonkey addition to record youtube videos first but that is way in the past now. Not sure about songbird Ill try it out, as I am sick of Windows media player but have yet to find something that fully replaces it.

I’ve used TeamViewer, I like it a lot. A friend of mine once asked me my opinion on a picture which was still work in progress, and this allowed me to view it without her saving it and sending it to me.

I’d like to comment on the whole Macintosh vs. Every Other PC Manufacturer debate. Macs have their own unique applications, such as HD video editing and casual browsing, while Microsoft-licensed computers are usually geared more towards gaming and the development thereof.
I personally use Windows because I grew up using it and am used to the way things are laid out. Mac OS X just doesn’t have that familiarity for me.
But I do intend to get a Mac Pro soon, just for the hardware.

The person who buys mac just for the hardware is a moron. Build a custom pc. You will save hundreds and get better hardware. Tak a gander at which video cards macs come with. Total weaksauce. I think you are mistaken about what macs can do. A pc can do anything a mac can do and whole lot more.
