Rocketboom needs to employ an equally charming lady to do this for another city. London in the UK? San Francisco? Paris? Anywhere. Nice to get a sense of the broader lives of a city I’ve never been to. As a tourist, I always want to experience a city as itself, not as it wants to portray itself to tourists, and Ella does a good job of finding those charms in NYC.

Oh FYI, just to correct Rocket Boom, Washington Heights is not the tip top part of Manhattan… well, island wise, it is the top part. But the actual top part of Manhattan is Marble Hill, which is actually located within a portion of the Bronx. So technically speaking, Marble Hill is the highest part of Manhattan geographically speaking.

I went to The Cloisters when I was in New York City! It was for a high school art trip some years ago now. Of all the museums we went to, I think I liked it the best. It was so peaceful up that hill amongst the trees. I remember there was a beautiful courtyard on the grounds too.

I live in Singapore. There’s an interesting project going on over here. All the national parks across the country are being connected through “park connectors”. These are walkways and suspension bridges that cross over busy highways and roads from one park to another. The idea being that when all of the connectors are up, you should be able to cross the entire country by walking through the parks. A rather nice concept I think.
