Well actually cultures have been interacting way before the vikings and the Spanish came. The sweet potato, which originated in the Andes (Peru) was found in Papua New Guinea when the Europeans discovered it. Some Mayan head statues resemble African features, etc.

Similar advances in technology/etcetera can be linked to evolution. I’m serious. What succeeded got in the next generation. So it’s not a surprise that people created similar things, worshipped similar things, etcetera, without any “physical links”. But the link is still there, common ancestors. They are still the same species.

It was never implied that we don’t know about the Mayans. It’s just that we do not know much about them. We know a bit, bit it’s no where near the amount to be able to arrive at any specific conclusions. And your last analogy… while at face-value seems deep and philosophical, is utterly stupid. With that in mind, would it not be better to not try to learn at all? After all, only 5% of the things we know is right. Including that statement, creating a loop; 5% of that statement is right.

Actually, they’re very similar. All triangular. The step-like appearance in the temples are much more noticeable than the ones in Egypt. The pyramid of Giza has steps, but are single blocks, so that it looks perfectly smooth from a distance whereas the Mayan/Aztec pyramids, are like large steps leading up to a flat surface at the top. They aren’t the same, yes. But they share the same characteristics, thus they are similar. ;D

also, I put to you this, the when looked at a certain angle (0:30, that of a person standing below it, such as when you might worship it) the pyramids appear to go to the skies by the process of foreshortening.

    perhaps both examinations are true.

What’s interesting is a map was found in one of these temples showing ship routes from one land mass to another. This was made in a very intricate manner to where you have needed some sort of aviation aircraft to get the outer edges of land outlined so well. How would they do this in Ancient Egyptian times?

The really surprising thing was, when this map was put up to one of our modern maps of the world, it outlines land area all the way through Antartica where all our glaciers are now.

There’s no mystery here at all. It’s just a common finding that the strongest way to stack something is to build a wide base and narrow it as you go up. Pour out a bunch of sand on the ground and it would have a wide base, small top form. Just look at the shape of the highest forms in nature, hills and mountains.

A pyramid is the most stable design for a tall building, especially if you want it to remain standing for a long time. Given the purpose of these buildings, it should not be too surprising that unrelated cultures arrived at similar solutions on how to build one. Perhaps more perplexing is why unrelated cultures chose to build these monuments (considering how much time, money and effort were involved) to their dead rulers in the first place.

And as for your previous comment, it still reprimands people for being ignorant and not knowing, and then states that all knowledge is virtually useless. Further seeking of knowledge is the only way to know if we are right or not, and we shouldn’t ever stop, because that’s the only way we can advance ourselves.

The need for more precise astronomical information motivated by efforts to improve calendars could conceivably lead to the creation of pyramids especially in jungle areas. To get a good view of the horizon one would have to build an elevated platform for making observations of the motions of the Sun, Moon and planets. Also map makers would be motivated to fill in unknown regions of the globe. I agree that progress does not always proceed at a steady pace. Reformers often discount past efforts.

Cultures all over the world used to worship celestial objects….in most cases the Sun was at the top of the list so I think it is possible that pyramids all over the world are structured in a way that is a symbolic representation of the Suns rays shining down to Earth /\

It is possible that ancient people sailed all over the place, but why don’t they write/talk about it and yet they do write/talk about being “shown” planets and being “from and amongst the stars” and being “given” things seemingly out of nowhere, like written language and astronomy.

  141. Pyramid building is part of human nature. I bet if you independently gave cube shaped blocks to a bunch of kids, a large number of them would build pyramids at some point. They’d probably also figure out that you need to make human sacrifices to make your crops grow. It’s just basic common sense.

These structures are also not randomly placed. Astronomical procession had to do with precise alignments with varying star systems, specifically the Orion star system and others related to what was described as the stars the Anunnaki supposedly came from. Procession needs to be addressed rather than the “seeming randomness” of it all. These were built in specific geographic locations for a reason.

If you give a child some blocks and tell him to build a tall structure, within relatively few iterations, he or she will build something that is roughly pyramidal in shape. This is simple because it is the most stable way to build a tall structure. Seeing as these varying cultures were trying to create buildings that would stand indefinitely (either as after-life homes for their rulers or as places of sacrifice to their gods), it is no surprise that these cultures all came to this design.

That the sphinx lines up with the constellation of leo the lion… 10,500 years ago and Angkor Wat and Angkor Tom - on the OTHERside of the world and built much later match the constellation of draco… 10,500 years ago. Some people think of the color of a sky or the color of the ocean. Those are two different shades of color but they both express the world we’ve given it and even then we might perceive the ocean and sky differently.

Or maybe an explanation to pyramid building could be something as simple and primitive to stacking up large carved rocks into the shape of mountains. If that were the case, it would only be a matter of time for that discovery and there wouldn’t be a need to share that from the opposite side of the world.

Pyramids are the only logical things to build back in their time. Because they did not have access to modern building materials, but rather only chunks of rocks, the only way to build something massive and tall is with a pyramid structure.

Try building a tall monument using only rocks and you’ll find out that your building is much more stable if you use rectangular rocks (They fit together nicely). Stable designs with other than rectangular rocks are possible, but need a lot more engineering.

Try building something with rectangular rocks and you’ll end up with something looking either like a tower or a four sided pyramid.
Both constructions are seen in lots of cultures. I see no mystery there, just common sense.

When one pours sand into a particular spot, it naturally takes the shape of a pyramid (or a cone, but humans like right-angles). Stability demands that the base of a constant-density structure under gravity be broader than its top. Note that the pyramid shape does waste a lot of space above the floor vertices. As architecture and civil engg. tech advanced, our sky-scrapers became more and more steep and cuboidal.

Get an hour glass invert it and notice that the sand piles in such a way that it’s profile looks like a pyramid’s. It is natural to tapper at the top when you build with heavy materials like stone because that is how gravity works. Same holds true in melee combat. Renaissance era European ARMA grappling techniques look almost identical to Japanese Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu only because the kinesiology of the human body is the same irregardless of the cultural origin if the martial art.

Why are pyramids popular. The same reason mounds are conical. If you want to prove how mighty your empire is by building tall monuments that last longer than 2 days it helps stability if the top is smaller than the bottom if you do it the other way round it will quickly collapse unless it is made out of high tensile steel. If these civilizations had a common origin I would expect them to use the same crops as domesticating a wild plant is much harder than introducing an existing crop.

    Reply
  251. MrMonkeybat

Also Egyptian, Mayan, and Chinese Hieroglyphs are completely different and and follow totally different rules, style, and structure, showing no signs of common origin. There are thousand year gaps between these pyramid building civilizations so such theories would also have to explain where the pyramid builder were in the between times. The unusually stable climate of the current glacial minimum allow farmers to develop with rich kings who like to show off by stacking a big pile of stones.

Pyramids are only similar because it’s the easiest way to EXCELL (which was done by Hight or Size!)
    - you either try to display our Status (most likely in death) OR especially in massive agglomeraions of Humans, make your cult place visible!

    - the stepped pyramid is the easiest way, which starts off as a small block (like a mastaba in egypt)
And to EXCELL from your ancestor you just INCREAS the height or overbuilt it (like Sakarra or the Yukatan Pyramids)

So how u achieve massive height in a culture without cement and Steel or Iron - by building platforms on each other, every next one smaller than the first –> heaping up earth, brick, stone; Why stepped? because it is simpler in means of building and probably the first thing that comes to your mind. …and what do u do with a huge ass piece of brick, earth and stone? u adorne it in some way according to your cultural beliefs and fashion…

    simple - no connections!

i really can’t understand why ppl are so hyped about that pyramid Idea.
Now if u show me a egyptian Relief in Guatemala, or a Maya stele in Kambodgia - THATS a thing to investigate!

And just cuz people build Boats is not a argument for Highsea-faring and Navigation by the stars … evidently early civilisations had to use some coastal view to navigate …

sometimes i really despair on the intelligence of Mankind …

They are similar because they were both controlled by Goa’uld.

In reality, the Mayans and Aztecs did not build their pyramids all at once. Each ruler added his own level above those who came before, thus instead of building strait up, which is infinately more difficult even when building all at once, they built slightly smaller, but taller structures.

but how did they move these huge stones and form them into pyramids? It is possible that the people of the past have had technology that was greater then what we have or at the very least a bit different.

The water did not go away in 40 days–they increased over 40 days and then subsided over a long period of time: Genesis/Bereshit 7:24

Yeah, I was wrong about that. It was 150 days not 40. Now, that’s much better. =))

You can’t actually be serious about this story, right? Where did all the water come from, and where did it all go to after that?

In order for the whole landmass of Earth to be covered in water you would need an additional 4.6 billion Km^3 of water. (See next post for math.)

    Earth radius = 6,378 Km

    Highest mountain = 9 Km

    Earth radius with flood = 6,378 + 9 = 6,387 Km

    Volume of sphere = 4/3 * PI * r^3

    Volume earth = Ve = 4/3 * PI * 6,378^3 =~ 1,086.78129 * 10^9

    Volume earth with flood = Vf =~ 1,091.38846 * 10^9

    Vf - Ve =~ 4.6 * 10^9

That is a whole damn lot of water!

I don’t want to turn a rocketboom video comment section into a religious argument. I don’t even know how or where Noah was first brought up in the comments. :)
I am a student of the Bible, so for better answers you should ask a Christian or Messianic.
I will mention that Genesis says it never rained before the flood, there was a lot of water in the atmosphere that was finally let loose and the “fountains of the deep” broke open. So water came from underground and the sky.

u retard - the difference is your thinking!
today everyone thinks like “whooo u cannot use thousands of people” ……..fuckingy es you can

    - btw there are more misterious things in world than moving large blocks of stone (which is only a matter of energy you put into)

    - turn yourself to stuff like Roman gemms! those things are carved with tools less than 1mm in needle width! …god damn it; the Pyramids and the stone moving is just something that shows how Simple minded people today are!

yes it was Possible …. it is also possible to sit on a piece of Wood and float for 3 days past a massive way.

but 1. the pyramids are NOT SIMILAR!
    2. even if u can sail across a large amount of Water you need NAVIGATION! and a SYSTEM on which this works - and there are documents and notes that people used the COAST for navigation

EDUCTAE YOURSELF another way than bland simple books in a local bookstore! - go to a scientific library!

Why are fires often built in the shape of a pyramid? High structural integrity. Any moderately society moderately proficient in architecture pompous enough to want to make a massive building would probably use a pyramid shape. Which begs the question whether the Tower of Babel would have been a pyramid.

The Mayans and many other ancient peoples were proficient at mathematics. We know that triangles are one of the strongest shapes. So even the ancient civilizations could have figured out that pyramids were the most stable and strong structures.

Pyramids look like mountains that people saw on the horizon. You know the same mountains that are still there today? If you were to build a small mountain in your backyard, what shape would you end up with? Next, when the pile you create falls, try again stacking the slope at different angles, and you too will arrive at the same shape. Amazing how this works!!!
