@bickandchid9 no, thats the only reason you watch them. and maybe thats why she is wearing a thick jumper.

if you want to see tits go watch porn.

  2. faceplantcharlie says:

think if consoles never made a comeback gaming would sill exist on computers, and we wouldn’t be hampered by people making games for the outdated graphics of the ps3 or 360…

  3. MasterfulXero says:

@moepskie serously. there is a comment like that every RB video. Keep the comments on the subject of the video please.

  4. flibber123 says:

Molly has been looking pretty good lately, then she wears that. Was that look chosen to highlight the depressing tale of videogame collapse?

  5. thunderhayes says:

@denhemligafilmen Yeah, this video would’ve been much better with James Rolfe hosting it.

“This horrible abomination that should never be called a game almost killed the video game industry. I said I’d never review ROB but this history lesson wouldn’t be complete without a peak into one of Nintendo’s worst disasters that actually SAVED video games.” Add in some explicit cussing and you have almost a perfect “Nerd” transition from the Atari into the Nintendo era.

  6. PartianHD says:

@flibber123 What so, because she isn’t showing cleavage then she automatically dresses like a boring woman. Your a little kid, you can tell

  7. cannonfodder4000 says:

Activision was actually founded by some of the people who left Atari because of E.T.’s failure, so that might explain it. =D

  8. yurishosan says:

@cannonfodder4000 that was WAY before E.T…test you’r facts! Activision was created because Atari didn’t gave them credit for their work…or for any one else…

  9. Aeonova says:

This is what IrateGamer has been promising with his ‘History of Video games’ series of… what only seems to be under 2 minute trailers and one 3 minute reading of what I can only guess he plagarized off of wikipedia.

  10. MegaTeddy21 says:

nintendo made playstation 1 btw or they did then it was stolen or somthing i dont remember the story but it was somthing along those lines

  11. Aeonova says:

Why is James Rolfe the only youtube partner that can talk about video games from the past? This isn’t 2007 and he’s not still making videos about Hydlyde. . He branched out into a lot more. Just because you saw his ‘history of the zelda timeline’ video, doesn’t mean you’re pro at knowing…. wait… damn it. I’m posting on a youtube comment section. .002 cents for your youtube partner check, rocketboom and well played.

  12. traderboy99 says:

@MegaTeddy21 no. that is crap. the ps1 was originaly a partnership program with sony. nintendo then pulled out of the deal. get your facts straight.

  13. flibber123 says:

    @PartianHD

Your the perv, I said nothing about cleavage, or her looking boring for that matter. But now that you mention it, yeah cleavage would help, but then what doesn’t cleavage improve?

  14. Aeonova says:

@MegaTeddy21 I believe Nintendo was working with Sony to create a disk system. I may be wrong, but who knows what falling out they had and Sony just made their own console off of what they had created so far. Squaresoft changed Final Fantasy VII from a Nintendo console game to a Sony Playstation game giving it a great boost in popularity. That bitterness stuck around until Squaresoft’s old manager person left. (I think).

  15. tomsonuy says:

molly makes her BOOBS bounce cuz she got FAT HUGE TITS and I wanna rocket boom between her TITS and then I wanna lick her asshole

  16. Aeonova says:

@tomsonuy Wow. Get off of youtube and get off somewhere else. I’m sure you can find pr0n on the internet. I heard about it from a friend that wears these weird teddy-bear costumes everywhere.

  17. PartianHD says:

@flibber123 How am I, I pointed out the obvious like most people would. And I have just proven my evidence even more, you did want cleavage, at the end of the day MOST STRAIGHT men want cleavage, it’s a added feature, but if we don’t get it, we carry on. If you really want to see cleavage, go to your nearest town at night time, preferably on a Friday or Saturday – or are you under age?

  18. ipodxdude says:

What about the magnavox odyssey? that was the FIRST home console, given it didn’t have interchangeable cartridges but it was still FIRST

  19. frostare says:

Reminds me SO MUCH of the latest AVGN. Super Mario Bros. helped end the videogame crash.

BUT I WANTED TO PLAY ROCKETBOOM WAAAAH!

  20. evsystem says:

wow, I learned a lot of new things from this. All I knew before was that the videogames crash was a thing and the ET game really sucked

  21. coolstream1 says:

Over estimating the consumers desire to buy shit video games?

ET would have sold like hot cakes these days :P

  22. irishfinger says:

@coolstream1 I would doubt it, especially if it were priced like one of todays normal video games is, ’cause ET was priced like the top sellers of its time. People wouldn’t pay $60+ for a game EVERYBODY knows is shit, even if they wanted to see just how crap it is.

  23. ipodxdude says:

@hugoestr it was still first and apart of that specific timeline theres no changing that it adleast deserves an honorable mention

  24. Emogeta says:

If you guys want to learn more on the History of Video Games check out Irategamer’s History Of Video games.

  25. PurifierUnitBreakman says:

Everybody loves to put the blame squarely on just the ET game for the Crash. While in actuality, there where many factors that lead to it…

  26. xxBlacksundayxx says:

The Atari wasn’t the first, The Brown Box/The Odyessey was actually the first game console. Granted they said “commercially successful”, credit should still go to Ralph Baer. And wasn’t so much a butterfly wing flap, more so the spark that ignited the gunpowder pile that was the video game industry. They made many, many awful games, ET was just the final brick in the wall.

  27. vivelecorn says:

ET wasn’t the only reason for the “downfall” of gaming at the time… unofficial games released for Atari (“porn” games), Pac Man’s dramatic introduction to home consoles, and Atari’s upgraded consoles which overall were crap quality lead to people’s discouragement of video games back then.

  28. Ranos17 says:

I had the Gameboy Micro… It was good. Of all the variants of the GBA, it was by far the best, I don’t see why people bash it…

  29. Myka138 says:

I want to finger your shirt pocket. Also, the NES was successful because the games were awesome (Super Mario), not because it looked like a VCR.

  30. KumaOso16 says:

    @Myka138
But you had the stigma surrounding videogames at the time.Quality videogames insured that videogames were here to stay, but it took the Trojan Horse effort from R.O.B. and the NES’s design that got people interested.

Basically, they came for the robot, but stayed for the videogames.

  31. misterbearbe says:

@Myka138 watch the video again.. she clearly said that they made it look like a VCR so that the STOREOWNERS would stock and sell the NES. If it would have looked like the Japanese version a lot of storeowners might not have stocked up on the NES and its games.

  32. OMIGHTYGUY says:

Nintendo really needs to put a quality assurance chip back in their systems, so that we don’t have quite as much shovelware on their systems. Let’s hope there’s less crap on the 3DS. >_<

  33. deaditefuckgirl says:

The gameboy micro didn’t suck, it was released at a very sucky time. It was released after the DS came out. If that doesn’t scream stupid, I don’t know what does.

  34. mini14tx1 says:

Atari blew dog. Thats why they got shitcanned after E.T. Its like the owner woke up one day and said “I don’t even give a shit about my own company anymore so I guess I’m just going to be a fuck up and single handedly bring down video games with my beyond shitty games.” Its a good thing Nintendo came along when it did to save the day or we would be living in a world where more people would have lost their virginity and be living in their own houses and not in their parents basements.

  35. Vdeogamer says:

@deaditefuckgirl Well the only reason the micro was released was just in case the DS flopped. And since it didn’t, Nintendo thought there was no use for it anymore. I think it’d be great if they brought it back though, being as you can’t play gameboy advance games on the new dsi and 3ds models.

  36. CassesVultus says:

Last week Dungeons & Dragons. This week video games. I’m guessing next week will be….collectible trading card games? (Magic, Pokemon).

  37. Mexican87 says:

The video game market crashed in America. America is no the only country in the world, videos games were still really popular in Japan. If the NES never gained popularity video games would probably be like soccer in America.

  38. FabulousLakeTahoe says:

I had more fun playing my NES games back in the day than I ever do with these flashy modern games.

  39. leapoffaith20 says:

I heard that Atari made more ET games than there were consoles. I never did business studies at school but I’m pretty sure that’s a fail right there.

  40. luckykingjordan says:

Lol she must get fed up with people telling her they want o fuck her in the mouth and that there’s a hard thing in their pants….

  41. Montork says:

at fist she was like et sucked and i was like… it wasn’t that bad and then she was like micro sucked and i was like HELL YEAH!

  42. sth128 says:

A world where video games do not exist?! Where every kid must go outside and play?!

Oh god the horror… THE HORROR!!!

  43. sleazybtd says:

My father traded my Atari Tennis cartridge for the ET cartridge without my knowledge or consent (I bought it with my own money). I still have not forgiven him.

  44. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming I was just listing consoles that were major innovators. Microsoft hasn’t really innovated anything. They just took the ideas of battle.net and sega.net and expanded on them

  45. brtshstel says:

the Game Boy Micro didn’t suck. It just wasn’t marketed well and it was launched at the end of the GBA’s lifespan.

  46. errorzinvalid says:

Oh yeah, the micro. I still want one of those, even though I didn’t and don’t need one to play games I already have on a system that already plays them… still want one, and I don’t even know why.

  47. JDBlimegreen says:

Eh, gameboy micro didn’t suck, just poorly marketed. The screen was bright, it had a pretty good battery life, interchangeable faceplate, and it’s just so darn small and cute.

  48. ArachonidMembrain says:

@3diot and you think she wants you its even more disturbing we all know she wants me, well duh ,i’ll just keep jumping up and down flashing my relay impressive Maasai make up

(note any similarity with me and the Maasai disappeared with my thyroid dysfunction : )

  49. zillasenetai says:

I have a gameboy micro, bought it off some guy I know for five bucks, works fine….. It’s a disappointment.

  50. joerush25 says:

Alright… we see the history of video game consoles like the NES and Atari, then all of the sudden we’ll just skip 20 years and go to the ds?

  51. semysane says:

Now they should talk about the dark time known as the Console Wars. I still have flashbacks. So many terrible mascot characters trying to be as popular as Mario and Sonic… Damn you Bubsy!

  52. Mexican87 says:

@WellIcantthinkofone Yes, that’s right I managed to miss a ‘t’ in my comment. I hope that didn’t make the entire sentence lose its meaning, luckily you made it decipherable because of your clarity filled reply. Now people can understand me.

  53. SereneIceDragon says:

@semysane Aw, I like Bubsy! The first game at least I still play regularly with my sis. The second one isn’t as good, but I love the original. Of course, I love the old Mario games as well.

  54. frank0127 says:

Let it be known that you can say what you will about Nintendo, and they get a LOT of flak… but you wouldn’t be playing Black Ops today if it weren’t for the Big N.

  55. BradOFarrell says:

@Spintown7 how so? The over saturation of the market and competing consoles was mentioned before mentioning ET. There’s “over simplification” and there’s “brevity”

  56. frankylovesyall says:

I got an Atari 2600 for my 5th birthday in 1983. Damn I’m old, but all of this at least makes sense to me… and E.T. did suck immensely.

  57. Nice theory but probably not right. The E-T game may have hurt some, but this is not what really happened.

The Atari 2600 was a big success. A lot of people wanted that game because that is what everyone had. Who wants a high score in a game that no one else plays. Furthermore, you can trade games.

At almost the same time Mattel came out with a more expensive, sophisticated game, but it could not overcome the popularity of the Atari.

The point is that when you come out with a new system it has to be a lot better to replace the previous system that has become super popular.

Eventually Nintendo came out with a system that so improved on the old 2600 that people were willing to trade up.

Another factor was that the Atari 2600 was being replaced not by other video game machines, but by cheap personal computers, which also acted a video game machines. Click on name to go to better machine.

There robot tricks may have helped to speed the inevitable to a small degree, but video games were going to rise either way.

  58. schmoab says:

Read the book Game Over for details on why the video game market turned out like it did after Nintendo entered.

  59. Gabbapinhead21 says:

i have a gameboy micro and its soo awesome. everyone i know or dont know always asks me just wtf im playing and i say the game boy micro… and they are like they WHAT? im like the gameboy…. micro? smallest version of the game boy advance. then they get jealous and i win.

  60. pigman2222 says:

    @truongcan89
It’d just be 30mins of her reading stuff she doesn’t understand another 30mins of her sucking old man cock to get advancement.

  61. LiteralGaming says:

@fsmetal Yeah but Microsoft did it better. and i know this is debatable but Xbox live is the best online video game service out there.

  62. traderboy99 says:

@MegaTeddy21 look, it’s obvious you’re very sensitive about the ps1. maybe you hooked up with a ps1. now who’s the gypsy…

  63. cboehm24 says:

It’s funny. I remember EVERYONE wanting a copy of that ET game. I mean, keep in mind the level that MOST video games were on. Wizard of Wor was a blockbuster, and that was just a souped up version of Pac Man.

  64. traderboy99 says:

@MegaTeddy21 im sorry to hear your dad is a jigalo. it does explain why you are so messed up. a jigalo for a dad and a troll for a mom….

  65. seriouslyWeird says:

if it were a middle age and anybody knew about what kind of things i thought about while watching molly in this video, i would probably get prosecuted for dirtymindness

  66. wwickeddogg says:

After playing ET I threw my atari in the garbage and never played a video game again.

until Super Mario Brothers came out for nintendo

  67. BenwaysWorld says:

Really only applies to the USA. Things were very different here in the UK and many other countries. When the Console manufacturers went out of business, we didn’t even notice, coz we were too busy playing cheap games on cheap computers.
Then by the time the NES arrived here in ’87, it was fairly irrelevant to all but young kids.
Curiously, I like the Micro more than the DS. Something to do with the games on it being more my cup of tea.

  68. jsmith224455 says:

I bought a micro. I liked it. It’s small enough to actually fit in your pocket. All they need to do is throw an mp3 player on it and I’d buy another one.

  69. mauriciohavok says:

If anyone is interested in the history of games i recommend watching play value, it’s a good start.

  70. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming They sitll did nothing innovative where the 3 companies I mentioned did do innovative things with their consoles.

I would hardly say a service you pay monthly for is the best. When I get cross platform games, I base my decision on what console to get it for on one thing: Do I care about the multiplayer? If the answer is yes, I get it for the PS3

  71. ShmigyProductions says:

To the Robotic Operating Buddy, ROB, we award the medal of awesome. His bravery in a combat zone filled with crappy video games will never be forgotten, and his valor was commendable, even as many doubted that video games would ever be seen again. ROB single-handedly saved the video gaming industry by introducing thousands of children to the NES. By doing so, he has changed the world forever.

Thank you, ROB. We salute you.

  72. HighKingTurgon says:

@Spintown7 But an excellent primer for those like me who had never heard of it before today. Time for research!

  73. Tupster says:

I see the video game crash as the failure of a single product, not of “video games” themselves. Also, it was localized to the US. Also, computer games were not effected.

  74. Spintown7 says:

@HighKingTurgon I suggest Phoenix: The Rise & Fall Of Videogames by Lenard Herman or the Ultimate History Of Videogames by Steven Kent. There are other good books on the topic, but those are great starting places to give people a great overview.

  75. calistman222 says:

Read Youtube translate audio caption at 2:40 “Hot lady gains if the american indians remarked more kinesiology and luckily his chemo”

  76. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming Don’t get me wrong. I do not hate the 360. The only reason I do not currently own one is because mine was stolen. I do question the intelligence of paying monthly for something when another option gives you the same thing free of charge, though.

  77. fsmetal says:

@fandanstan The short answer is “armed robbery.” The long answer? Something I would prefer to NOT relive

  78. alyssaishness says:

But you didn’t even mention all the other factors like the crappy unlicensed games and the large number of consoles!

  79. LiteralGaming says:

@fsmetal Well again ill just say that in my opinion xbl is better than psn and for me that justifys paying £40 a year for it. also i love halo games so obviously i would rather have a 360.

  80. Septemberl4d says:

OH molly meant the death of CONSOLE games not computer. I was going to say, i never remember anything like that happening. Other then whats happening now to trip A games becoming the worst and indie showing more quality…

  81. spiderobert says:

yes, the NES did look like a VCR, so much so that people would actually come into our store and refer to the cartridges as tapes x_x

  82. devourerofbabies says:

@Karimsama And unwittingly Atari has planted the seed for the greatest WTF moment in the future of archaeology.

  83. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming That makes no sense. Liking Halo does not mean that the 360 has to be your favorite. There is no logic in that

  84. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming There is still no logic to it. So you like Halo. That does not mean you are not allowed to like Killzone, Resistance, MAG, Infamous, Uncharted or God of War

  85. LiteralGaming says:

@fsmetal What? that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying i like Xbox because i like halo. simple OK.

  86. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming You said “I love Halo, so I would rather have a 360″ That makes no sense. You could love Halo and still prefer the PS3.

  87. LiteralGaming says:

@fsmetal i cba to continue this because i don’t think you understand what im saying and your just repeating the same thing

  88. fsmetal says:

@LiteralGaming You are not getting what I am saying at all, “I like Halo” is NOT a reason to prefer the 360 over the PS3.

  89. Puku655 says:

N.e.s is a nice design and all. but, why make it so much more blunt looking than the famicom? Common, the famicom has brighter colors, more interesting shape, and holds your controllers. I sure do like that red on white. N.e.s to me is more nostalgic though…

  90. LiteralGaming says:

@fsmetal yeah but i can’t play halo on ps3 and i used to play halo more than any other game. also i prefer the controllers of xbox, the online on xbox and generally everthing BAM

  91. cherrybunny6 says:

I hated that ET game! I always felt so unaccomplished because there wasn’t anything to do after you fell in the hole…
