    check your pronunciation of the “Si” of “Li Si”… It’s not “see” but rather “soo” , that is, an “oo” as in “good” but swallow the vowel sound with a curled back tongue. Pinyin pronunciations of “i” are “ee” only in the following contexts: bi, di, li, mi, ni, pi, qi, ti, xi. Pinyin pronunciation resulting in the swallowed “oo” occur in the following contexts: ci, chi, ri, si, shi, zhi. Really not too hard. There are only 413 possible syllables in Mandarin apart from the tonal changes.
