After the captain was rescued and the bad guys were eliminated we were told that the POTUS had been keeping track on an hourly basis and was hands on from the start. It was a good PR way to go because if it went bad then he would’ve been blameless, but could claim to be involved in a positive outcome. If you don’t follow the news it would’ve been easy to miss it in our 24 hour news cycle. By the next day we had moved on to the captain’s homecoming et al.
