some do, and Bill Nye has a new show called “Stuff Happens” and in an episode he discussed e-waste and how if your recylcling company doesn’t know where their e-waste ends up, thats where. What you were talking about, but some company properly discard their e-waste and lots of valuables are in there, such as gold and silver, also bad stuff such as mercury and other poisoness* elements. SOME ACTUALLY DO THE RIGHT THING thats why its more valuable that way.

To make way for a new Windows 3.1 PC (or whatever version it was. That’s what they were using at work. And the C64 was more than a year old. It was no longer useful for my needs. Might have put it in a garage sale, I just don’t remember.

recycling is not as clean as they say in most cases they ship the e-waste to 3rd world contries where people use crude methods to extract the little vaulable parts and discard the rest often leaving a massive toxic dump on the land and leaving the residents to deal with the harmful side effects of the pollution
