Way to go America… :/
not to mention the golf belongs to mexico(mainly) but who knows how conveniently the oil in it only is what belongs to the U.S. and not only that u fuk up and are spilling it all over mexico and poor you?? GO FUCK YOURSELF SIR! AND HAVE A GOOD DAY! P.S. IM 100% American myself so dont go judging without knowing this fact
hey im just wondering dose crude oil seperate from the water like cooking oil or dose it mix in with the water please reply if u know what i mean
@fockya no joke, i actually saw an interview with him [that occurred very near to before this happened] saying “well, you know….drilling is safe enough these days” BULLSHIT, man.
@xXfrownyguyXx zzz wtf is obama gona do man? ps not from america
@SciMethodFTW fuking fuckheads!! geez they piss me off really!
@WeightTransfer isnt there still oil found between rocks and stuff from that?
I’m sorry she’s cute. :3
thanks for sharing this.. I hope we use this to learn from and pray that we can minimize the damage. It is sad that it takes a disaster to wake us up..
WE NEED CAPTAIN PLANET
“we have to have fuel and gasoline”
Really? do we? we really do? ror.
It’s so terrible, I mean we left this unattended for 5 days. What the fuck. We need to shut off the well somehow because it’s just getting worse and worse.
I honestly almost deleted this from my subscription box, because Molly’s face wasn’t on the thumbnail. Hey, I listen to NPR. Anyway, I’m glad I clicked it and if anyone reading this feels badly about their role in this (basically all of us) you can consider becoming vegetarian/vegan since factory farming plays the biggest role in the pollution of the Earth (more than all transportation combined), and you can support urban cycling. Thank you.
@murrymurrymurrymurry oil’s oil. it floats on the surface.
fucking pre-rolls
Disgusting
0:56 GIGGITY!!!
@murrymurrymurrymurry oil does not mix with water
Ramirez, clean up that oil spill.
@FossilEntertainment ummm yes. or i guess you could go out and live at waldens pond and see how long you last.
@FossilEntertainment - Yes, we do. The majority of the world’s vehicles (not to mention all of the non-vehicular machinery out there - generators, etc) run on gasoline, and while gradually shifting towards the use of alternative fuel sources is a smart idea to explore, the notion that we could do so immediately simply isn’t feasible. So yes, we really have to have gasoline. Really.
@yusefdoodie - Yes! Captain Planet - he’s my HERO. He’s going to take polution down to zero.
You know, technically speak you can burn the whole oil with napalm… just need a spark and boom, no more oil. It will be nice and clear in 2days. The problem is that… if the oil drill is still functioning… it may blow up. But people want to preserve that oil and recycle it to make fuel. Thats why they aren’t burning it. And at this stage, burning it would do not good because the damage has already been done and all living creatures that req light are now dead. Only the ones that dont live.
@murrymurrymurrymurry ROCKETBOOM Loves to tell everyone Obama is great, if he is why wont he help?
@ieatnuggetswithafork - I had a look at your channel page. Is that you dancing to that Umbrella song?
@cjbackintime - I know. If this raises the cost of filling my car’s gas tank by even a few pennies, I am going to be very upset.
HOLY SHIT! I didn’t even notice the size of those ships compare to the oil drill, but damn that spill look MASSIVE! he’s right though there is no fucking way to prevent this not by a long shot.
And I just love how Obama making this problem sound like the talk of yesterday.
@johnnytastetest seriously me too.. I drive a lot and right now the gas situation in nyc is insane. If this fucks it up(probably will), i’m gonna be fucking pissed as hell.. Fucking irresponsible people and government. Probably cost the cvountry millions and millions of dollars for thsi fuckign oil spill.
this is so sad its disgusting…. the amount of money being lost, the money that will be written off for tax purposes by BP.. And they’re pushing the blame down?!?? Come ON!
@TarikuKunn Fuckign ridiculous man. This is insane. its already way too high and this incident wasted millions of dollars. its fucking OIL not coal or anything. Its fucking almost equal to gold. I mean its fucking expensive. jesus.
@edgarae1 Because vegies aren’t ‘factory farmed’
@murrymurrymurrymurry
Crude Oil don’t mix with water, they just floats on the surface, just like any other oil
go electric! petrol is soooo old and boring
@johnnytastetest PT1 RE: i give 2 fucks of what they think! spelling isn’t the point.. but thanks for making it. maybe ill consider changing for you.. NOT. they are no too displeased, yet they will be when i tell them that i still deal with ignorents on a daily, with arguments and subjects they think is fun to ignore as such i have informed you of,
@johnnytastetest PT2 RE:like that hispanics are the majority and consist of up to 40% of our countries economy. And this, i say informed b/c this is true and you have yet knowledge of it… good day sir!
Wait until the next hurricane blows in, then you’re really going to see a mess.
@LulzGun i disagree with you
@cjbackintime - I have a theory that the oil companies monitor all headline news very carefully for anything to do with spills, drilling perceived shortages, etc, etc. Once they’re sure these stories have become common knowledge, they hike the prices on ooil across the board, so people will justify the hike while making small talk at the pumps. “Hmmph. A 50% increase since last week,” people will say. “Must be that spill on the Gulf coast.” “…must be.”
there goes those gas prices…. ffffffuck
Just what this earth needs. God people fuck up so badly.
The only thing some of you can think about is how this will effect the cost of gas? Oh how did you survive the summer where gas was twice as expensive as it is now? You blame others when it is your fault that this happened. As long as we need oil there are going to be spills.
Oh man, quit spilling the oil! What do you expect me to use on my diesel truck if you kept on spilling the soon-to-be gasoline!
@PnutButterNbicheZ - Your spelling is still horrible, and you have still not provided a source for these statistics you are citing. Pathetic.
@pixelr0 I’ll tell you what’s old and boring, saving the environment. “Going Green” is for directors and writers who are out of ideas and businessmen who can’t think of good products.
cant wait for the gas prices to skyrocket.
@johnnytastetest PT1 RE: thats the point idiot jeez i cant belive i have to tell you!! i will spell who the shit i want.. and also this is youtube dumbass im not writting an essay to you “citings?’ lmao if you want to know so much, do some research god!! u want theese YT coments handed to you like a fuckin report..
@johnnytastetest PT2 RE: and here im pathetic! go fuck yourself.. and i take your next comment isnt gona agree much further so dont bother writting it b/c i wont bother reading it.. so instead do yourself a favor and get informed;)
@johnnytastetest yeah probably man it makes sense, but it still doesnt fucking excuse the oil spill you know. its insane.
Aha, right right. So USA need Iran’s oil now? Yeah! Quit the oil platforms and go for Iran! This is not a mistake.
This isn’t a US oil disaster. It’s a British oil disaster affecting the US. Also don’t worry, BP’s CEO will still make his bonus this year, and the year after. Everything is going OK.
@PnutButterNbicheZ - What’s this “PT2RE” nonsense you keep typing? I asked you specifically to reference the claims you’re making and you have failed to do so. This makes you a moron. How’s the weather today, moron? Ah, why even bother asking — the moron ignores direct questions. See you later, moron.
This spill is so depressing… The fact that it could have been prevented makes it worse.
It’s terrible how this happened. It’s terrible how the lacking judgements of a few can have such a devastating impact on us all.
@johnnytastetest AAH! i see now how you decided to get out of this one that was good man you almost had me amused there for a sec. enough to give you this reply i prepared specifically for you;).. enjoy oh and im not your dog to fetch you information you dont yet have “moron” do some research, get informed. it doesnt hurt promise:)
@AvengerXP
I dunno if you’re a troll or just plain stupid.
@johnnytastetest ah and heres PT2 as promised my repy to you.. think of it as an extended absence greeting better yet known as a answering machine for it will do the answering for me to you from now on!:) “Dear johnnytastetest.. This is a message from your buddy PnutButterNbichez telling you to go fuck yourself, for i disagree and decided to no longer read coments/reply’s and waste my time on your level of pathetic… you have a good day now!;)”
@WeatherManToBe There are enough veggies grown for everyone in the world to eat, but most of it is used to feed animals that are harmful to eat anyway, and they poop more than humans. The poop isn’t handled so it seeps into our waterways and results in deadzones, bodies of water where all life has been killed. Sort of like this oil spill. And the majority of sea life caught and killed to catch a particular fish is bycatch. That destroys the ocean’s ecosystem, sort of like this oil spill.
think about the environmental damage it had caused people, not oil price!!! Gosh
Am I allowed to spill my oil everywhere without any consequences just to save some money on safety gear? No? Only the corporations can? oh ok…
@PnutButterNbicheZ - I’m a PhD candidate, you fool. I’m probably the most educated and informed person you’ll ever encounter on YouTube. I’ll remind you once again: you made a claim, stating a specific percentage; I asked you to back up this cliam by sourcing where you heard it, and you have yet to do so. If you weren’t lying or simply a moron, you’d be eager to provide your source. Unfortunately, it has become clear that you ARE a moron.
there’s one thing about our government IT’S FILLED WITH RETARDED FUCKS.
Does BP stand for “Beyond Punishment” now?
Why do so many people assume only the government can fix the oil spill problem? Aren’t those usually the same people calling them incompetent as well? Lord, it’s easy to be a critic.
@johnnytastetest PhD hmm.. that would be impressive if i wasnt well on my way for one myself.. so again bla bla bla is all i understand from you and here my answring maching for you johny!:) Dear johnnytastetest.. This is a message from your buddy PnutButterNbichez telling you to go fuck yourself, for i disagree and decided to no longer read coments/reply’s and waste my time on your level of pathetic… you have a good day now!;)”
why dont they burn it???
@njb444 BP stand for Bull Shit
@hdzsound
No, it stands for British Prats
@amibbdos
They are. But it will only burn at a certain concentration, even with the mail leak torched some of it is still making it out.
Thumbs up if you skiped pass smokey moralising.
@StaticID
I hate to tell you, but I don’t think they’re getting off the hook on this one…
@sk8goat316 complain when we do something and complain when we don’t. funny how that works…
@AvengerXP
“This isn’t a US oil disaster”
Haliburton made the parts that exploded ^^. (really though, im not kidding.)
@amibbdos That just causes air pollution, which is no better than water pollution.
@amibbdos that would be catastrophic lol
that was an accident
hmmm, dose this remind anything of the last video?… also with the recent oil spill…. plus that still emptying out until they get the rig up and running again.
Sigh, well we shall see what happens form here
This is an excellent report. It’s amazing how little is being/can be done. I lived in Santa Barbara and you still get oil on your feet when you go paddling, and the spill there was when? The late 70s? That will no doubt be the case in the gulf, too. Shocking.
Good Video. Thanks Rocketboom
So what happened to “DRILL BABY DRILL!” ?
Shit happens, all they can do now is try to contain it.
this is john connor we are alive and we will fight back!!!! :)
it happened on 4/20? lmao, i know the reason this happened. they were all blazed off their ass, rofl
HOLY SHIT!!! Play “Thank You” by Dido in the background while watching this. It syncs almost perfectly!!!
@Izwat lol
This is what you get for being greedy…
this is horrible. absolutely devastating. we are going to ruin the earth, and noone seems to care.
@krypekeeper how is that remotely funny? this oil slick could be one of the worst things to happen in man kind… the ocean provides most of the earths oxygen accidents happen but something that could of been prevented is just stupid
“we need oil”
deeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
@Option788 let them nuke it to clean it up, that will be good for te ocean
there is no way this will kill the earth the world is very big,but this will kill alot of america’s economy
@krypekeeper ye are you mental?
i honestly believe the humans are nothing more than a plague to the earth. whats the use of having the most evolved brains if we don’t use them. for the cost of whats just happened we could have switched to a different energy source and not destroyed the earth :(
The tar sand projects in Alberta don’t look so bad any more, do they?
thats the punishment for using equipment from the 1960’s.
Oil platforms in Norway have much more modern oil platforms.
i just noticed that you’re always covering Oceania on the world map. RACISM!
@cheddar07 It’s not destroying the earth, the earth is not a fragile thing. The earth will live on when we’re long gone. We are like the bacteria on your skin, sure, they can make the surface dirty, but ultimately, they aren’t gonna do much at all in their lifespan.
@supertrinko @cheddar07 well, it’s not destroying the ‘earth’, but humanity will and is currently destroying the world as we know and appreaciate it.
Why don’t they just burn the oil as they said right after that happened?
@iHateToRegister Because the gulf will still be on fire. It’s still pouring out.
thats saddening
It is interesting to see the politicians change their tune pretty quickly after this disaster.
To think there was a possibility they wouldn’t be able to cap the well at all and the hole in the sea bed would continue emptying itself of its oil for the next 60 years.
An absolute fucking tragedy.
I’m sorry, but I don’t what what this guys “environmental career ” is but of course the fish will recover, and so will the beaches. it will just take time. BP did take measures to prevent this, how ever they all failed. it is horribly saddening.
I don’t mean to be mean, but I think that they finally got what they deserved for destroying Kuwait and the world environment by blowing up our oil fields.
Thanks
@iHateToRegister crude oil is quite hard to light, but could you imagine how large the fire would be if it did ignite, they where hoping to cordon if off and the light it, but its just far to large an area to do that know.
IT has to be cleaned up..!!!!
@supertrinko true, but the bacteria on your skin don’t build many enormous boats, and drag nets that would engulf the statue of liberty island with room to spare behind them taking everthing from underneath them. then throughing 90%of it back because they think they can get larger ones. the 90% are dead btw when brought on deck.
@cheddar07 no we couldn’t, the cost of this clean up ATM is only just reaching the billions. It would cost a dam sight more than that to switch off from oil. just in lost tax revenue alone. let alone all the development and infer structure needed to make a new fuel source such has hydrogen viable and available.
Learn from our mistakes? We’ll never learn…
@M1995C i would hardly say no one seems to care, considering that this is constantly on the new’s and the number of people and organisations that are involved in cleaning it up
@cjbackintime Why aren’t you doing anything?
@ripley4O77 we would, if we would get paid for it, dont you think? …. its sad.
Good clip. Thanks for passing that on, Rocketboom.
@ripley4O77 i Would learn :)
@WeatherManToBe Um this could have been prevented and should have been prevented. His comments about the boats were just passing on the magnitude of the situation and the sense of futility that overwhelmed them at the sight.
You hardly need a qualification to react to what he experienced, and he’s got a long history of seeing the worst of what we’ve done to the planet. I’m sure you can find your scientific data somewhere else, don’t worry.
wonder what impack the thousands of gallons of chemical dispersant will have on the ecosphere
government is not responsible for its people (like most people believe) but it is the people that are responsible for their government.
I dont get it? Whats the problem? Bitta oil never hurt anyone.
light the bitch on fire, screw the non human environment, who needs bugs and elephants and crap, all they do is smell and poop, HAHAHAHA take that non human nature, take that
Well at least this will bring the 50 year oil reserve down by loads and hopefully force governments and corporations to look for alternatives.
@gordon1201 too bad the ppl in this world are retards -.- I hope they do something i want my kids to live in a better world
@brennanww you sir,are an ass hole
@frilink well that makes me feel better :)
@brennanww ur a dick
@GrittyMcCheese Sticks to everything, hard to clean.
Animals get stuck in it, many die. Google, “oil animals” or something related.
@brennanww obvious troll is obvious
@H34d5h0t000 Animals shmanimals….
@GrittyMcCheese yeah fuck the gulf fishing industry
@GrittyMcCheese This is pure crude oil - it has a huge impact on sealife and local fishing businesses
I saw the huge impact made by the 30 tonnes of oil spilt from a ship in Moreton Bay, what you are showing me there is mind numbingly sad, what we can see on the surface is just the tip of the iceberg, I am shocked.
I love the new reply system, it lets me easily pick out the reply messages so I can easily ignore 12 year old arguments! thank you youtube!
“Compared to the horison, compared to the horison blablablalbla”
@brennanww
is that funny at all?
OMFG!!!, This is the most disturbing environmental mishap i have ever seen in my life time!! :(
Hahaha this video made me laugh so hard! best skit rocketboom have made in ages!!!!!1111!!1111!!!
@Corinth12821 How do you do that? share the secret, please.
Thanks for the report. The accompanying commentary was pretty unfortunate though. I’d rather hear some hard data rather than the soft babbling.
FUCKERS,
Did anyone actually think that what if the whole thing exploded and the hole was left open? Did anyone think that an oil spill like this could happen? Why didn’t anyone build a safety mechanism for shutting the hole?
@Jontman42 they did but the leak is at the very beggining
i wonder how long it will take for this comment to be answerd…
Sad :’(
@mrljthedj about 4 min
what has the government done to help? that is if the US could afford it. The next best form of energy is nuclear. The nuclear plants of today are so much safer then those of the past.
to use the new feature, #OMG / #LOL / #FAIL etc etc..
without spaces # OMG / # LOL / # FAIL
hey u can make a BBQ w/ fish
#OMG
#Molly
USA #FAIL
This isn’t the government’s fault nor responsibility. Of course they’re going to be blamed and they’re going to have to pay the bill, but initially, it was up to the oil company to ensure that the proper security measures were in place.
there sayinit could get in the gulf stream and reach the east side of florida and thats wher i live =[
# test
@moyade1 tehre’s also # FTW #FTW
#WIN
thats just sad. Not only the video, but the insensitive comments people make. It isn’t even the right time to joke. WHat would you do when your country’s economy goes down again? What would you do without the fishing industry? eat more beef which releases large amts of greenhouse gases?
#FAIL
our earth may not be able to recover from this.
#WTF
@chitlinray to say the earth wont recover from anything man made is highly arrogant. the earth will shake us off like fleas
#lol
good job america….
#Fail
I am concerned by the narrator’s doom and gloom attitude. Giving up and saying nothing will be effective is a poor way to face a challenge. Yes, there is damage, and more to come. But, woe is me fixes nothing. Get active, design,invent,and utilize new ideas to clean up, and prevent a similar situation from happening. BP will pay.
Prevention of this is labeled as #FAIL if we prevented it we would just #ROFL
#fail
Hopefully this will give the US a wake up call and to stop consuming over 30% of the worlds fossil fuels! Only wake up when its right on your door step! Get onto renewable energy and stop your dependence on this crap! 200mil population and you consume so much fossil fuel! Wake up!!
Aww people out of work, yea environment isn’t important hey? Dumbasses!
American orchestrated fishing industries in Brasil and their Oil diggin’ policies are gonna bring them down, eventually, Europe too…
@darkelivrio aww poor ur fucking economy! How about the environment you fucked up for the rest of us?!?!?!
I can’t belive that I watched this till the end just that I see molly again…
call me conspiracy theorist but i think this was all a cover up. for what you ask? my alternative news sources tell me that it was really a north korean sub attack. OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE TRUTH!!!
@nafativedec Thats because your a horny brat.
There is nothing left to say…
The audio quality on the voice-over man hurts my ears.
@enthusia492
get a brain,moron.
#OMG !!
@enthusia492 what
@angeltroea try googling the keywords “sub attack oil spill” and see how much chatter there is on it!
we”ll see.
@nafativedec I heard the word “sheen” probably 94 times waiting to see her again. Much disappointment at how little she was in this. But the hope that we’ll see her again makes a person see it through…
=< this is horrible….
@enthusia492
lol.
We need to train a team of scuba-engineers or something to actually fix the piping ASAP. Worry about cleanup *after* the leak is closed. There’s no use in treating the symptoms when the illness is getting worse.
I’m not an enviro hippy or anything, but just look what’s happening to our planet. How many times do we need to hear the word change but yet nothing seems to happen. It’s just big corporations that rule this world not government.

#FAIL Blog.
open your shirt…
Who was the guy narrating? Didn’t really sound like he knew what he was on about, just spectating and spewing out subjective info
Holy shit.
65 000 square kilometers ??? thats like the whole Lithuania covered in oil !!!
DAMN
#LOL
Sad as it is, unfortunately this will be remembered as only one of many such to come. After years of watching politicians and environmentalists lobby ineffectually to mitigate human impact on the planet, I realize now that our desire for the luxury of cheap energy will always trump ecological responsibility. In the end we will use up Earth and leave only a smoldering ball of charcoal.
Fuck you BP!
OMG this is really bad
Your video is screwed up - it jumps right to the suggestions, and dims the main video.
@nokia1110 John L. Wathen. At least, that’s what it says in the credits.
#MOLLY’SBOOBS
@stickmanbrains Oh, i didn’t see that. “Waterkeeper” doesn’t sound like a position held by someone smart and objective…
She looks like a really kind, and sweet person. Lovely, eyes too =) I would love to cum in her =)
@nokia1110 he sounded like he knew exactly what was going on to me, he may have stated opinions about the future but what about what he said was wrong? His opinion about is going to happen to marine life and marine based economy is the same as every environmental expert i have heard so far.
@mocasvaldo so you want poeple to know about Lithuania don’t you? :D
@heavenlyheathen What he said about the wildlife aspect was true, but “boats just sailing around” and him calling the precautionary measures faulty sounded subjective. I doubt he knows what the boats are doing, or what exactly happened to the rig, and what was done to prevent it. I am very sure that the oil company didn’t just let it happen, and i am sure they did everything possible to stop it
@urbanV8 no thats the only thing i know that measures 65 000 square kilos,
check it on the map and you’ll have a pretty good comparison for the magnitude of the oil slick.
drill baby drill lower gas prices
good job BP
corporations are fucking douche bags
#FAIL
@nokia1110 I know right. Should be more like Hydro-Ecologistian.
Yea, that sounds more sophisticated.
#FAIL
“This cannot happen again”
It shouldn’t have happened in the first place. This is horrible. Yet another tragedy for America. Is it just me getting older and remembering lots of shit, or is this just humans at work?

Well this suck
fuck mankind
The amount of oil that seeps out of the Earth naturally over time far exceeds this accident a million times over, but Mother Nature can’t get sued like BP will.
STUPID COMMENT
Hay is key. Why does nobody get it?
His voice made it boring.
@tobiaz1 It should of been David Attenborough
Why is there still a fight over alternative energy sources?
cheers for the feature on oil slick was clamoring for some news about it!
They should have had a better shut off system and a valve closer to the surface.
fuck the money the enviroment is much more important…..
@MultiCustomizer There is no shut off… in US shut off is not required…. thats why this is so bad
@pacloro sadly most Americans don’t think like that. even sadder is that many non-americans want to be like us Americans =/
and just think the bush administration was pushing for more off shore drilling sites, we need a new fuel source and fast
@therogletardrangler Yeah great. Tell that to the idiots that vote against new nuclear power stations.
I say find a way to burn it where stands, because these little “misheps” are just to get people to buy more gas in fear of losing it. But I mean burn it off top of the water. It would be more efficient.
@pacloro Without health money means nothing.
@pacloro agreed
@KirkAwesome I’ve actually worked at a nuke plant and wouldn’t mind seeing more of them, yes there’s the issue of the waste but even as is its way better for the environment. The only thing that comes out of the stacks is steam.
fuck america
this is really depressing.
‘merica FUCK YEAH!
And British Petroleum is making up all kinds of excuses to cover it’s ass about this. Humanity’s fucked.
HER RIGHT ARM IS TANKED !
hey rocketdud don’t have mollie present these articles it is not of her caliper
Too little Molly! We want Molly!!
@3zo911 yes they really screwed up the world and now this…
not enough Molly!!!
@scootosan I think you mean “calibur” and what’s wrong with Molly?
“Silent Island”
http://www.voicesnet.org/displayonepoem.aspx?poemid=173720
No words can explain this its just stupid!

I can’t believe these rich-ass oil interests. They have more money than God and they can’t empty their pockets to cap this shit? What the fuck are they doing with their money? GET A FUCKIN’ HANDLE ON THIS SHIT ALREADY!!!
Please stop complaining about how brief Molly’s appearance was in this video and focus on the actual matters. This is a horrible tragedy.
@rottenspectre This is really really depressing,
A Very Special Rocketboom
Rocketboom, stick to to the interesting trivial things you do best.
Thank you Molly and everyone at Rocketboom for raising global awareness of this tragedy in the making. Let’s hope that the oil companies and the government don’t “go home” after they stop the leak. That’s when the real work has to begin.
@3zo911 America? The rig was run by Transocean (a switzerland company) on behalf of BP (a British company) and BP has accepted the blame for the disaster.
Hi I’m Molly and this is Rocketboom
thats suck
They always have to learn from their mistakes so things like this can never happen again, but it seems like the never learn and the mistakes get bigger, I’m so sick of hearing that frase !
oh, yeah, no, of corse this wil NEVER EVER EVEEEER be bethr…..This wil still be a problem, in 4ooo years….yeah…x_X …emmmm, *not*
every time there is a major disaster it is not far off to wonder whether it might have been purposely engineered by people in the wealthy class. but who knows maybe this was an accident.
That’s what happens when regulation is gambled out of the equation. sad
remember guys the government doesn’t care about you, they care about their rich buddies. it doesn’t matter who’s in office. they just want to trick you into believing that it matters.
This is gonna piss off the Earth even more than she already is.
@joey007007 the statue of liberty? do you know how small that is compared to the rest of the planet?
Bacteria meanwhile, are on every single spot of your body. Humans cover a small percentage of the earth.
Look, I know this is a terrible thing that has happened, but people are overreacting. It will not be the end of the world.
why don’t you show us a video of a dying puppy, i thank that would be less depressing than this video.
Like they care what happens… this people will only try to save the little oil they can gather to make money and then keep on oiling. “Fuck the Environment I have Lawyers and I’ll just pay them with the millions I saved on safety cutbacks.”
We “need” oil so as long as this is true they can do whatever the fuck they want. People need to get angry and fucking do something about this, Go Green or Shut the Fuck up about it. Electric cars aren’t enough, we need ambulances, helicopters etc.
this is horrible
she looks like an innocent schoolgirl xD
“The Gulf seems to be bleeding.”
:C
I love molly!! You too?
Smart, socially responsible, beautiful, funny - seriously, there can’t be more than a handful of Molly’s out there, if that :(
When a hurrican rolls on through all that crap will be washed ashore. Say bye bye to your fresh water lakes and streams! obama declared the swine flu a national emergency, why not this oil spill? Could it be that BP gave obama 3 million in campaign contributions? BP’s assets should be siezed and divided up with those that have suffered damages. BP should be no more!!!

Drill Baby Drill!
@supertrinko your an idiot if you think people are over reacting…..I’d love to see you a few weeks from now trying to clean oil off some poor animal that is most likely going to die or walk along a beach down in that area this summer go swimming. What about hurricane season if they don’t get this capped and cleaned up soon this stuff is going to actually get pushed inland! think before you fucking speak!
well done petrrol… a whole new way to kill the planet..
@therogletardrangler My words.
Learn from mistakes? USA makes so many mistakes It makes me sick. I wonder what will be next disaster… Accidentaly dropping nuke on Antarctica?!
@BritneyAddicted4EVA Technically, it was BP (British Petroleum) so it was Britain’s fault, because they were responsible for care, so don’t blame it on America
@BritneyAddicted4EVA PWND!
My apologies :(. All I wanted to say is that damage caused by this oil slick can never be repaired. I wonder how many more mistakes like this can be made before we kill entire ocean life.
This video sucks change the channel!
@BritneyAddicted4EVA by my calculations, about 12
@adamlyons87 There are, you just have to give girls a chance.
BP is earth friendly… not!
Haha liters, how cute.
@BritneyAddicted4EVA Don’t give them ideas…
@falconpunch10 12 what?
#LOL
oh lol u ment accidents… XD
sorry had a long day :P.
well this sucks #omg
=*(
such a tragedy. it’s hard to think of how many animals must have died and suffered because of the mistakes of a greedy oil company, not to mention the effects that the spill has caused for fishermen and everyone else in the gulf
3:52 holy shit that oil has the shape of the devil lifting up his hand, the devil wins?
I guess CSR isnt that important for BP and for that they FAILED it.
@BritneyAddicted4EVA just because it is a british company, that particular rig suplied exclusively to america so america was responsible for it
lol
@melmac20 Eugh, I just said I knew this was a terrible incident, I know it will have terrible repercussions, but the people I was taling about overacting are the ones who think this is the end of the world. I even said this.
Did you just spot the word “overreacting”, get angry and rage at me?
Hi Molly, If they use different variations of the pipe within a pipe they may be able to siphon the oil to a container ship. If one method doesn’t work, they should try another. They also need to use inflatable plugs around the insertion pipe. Its not a hopeless situation.
@helllox21194 Thank you for the advice :)
This guy is stupid. Who cares about an oil spill?
This has been going on for over a month, and there is still no answer for it? What the hell have BP been up to? Are they like trying to plug the hole with their thumbs? If someone is supposed to be held responsible for this mess it should be them!
@theapollomoonlanding wow… your fucking stupid
That’s horrible!
@theapollomoonlanding how can you not care?
@theapollomoonlanding you’re a fucking idiot
@falconpunch10 sooo if a companies factory explodes the people who buy the products from them are somehow responsible?
like not the company itself for not following safety precautions.. how exactly does that work?
im guessing this will also have devastating effects on the coral reefs in the aria.
@Montork IDK, im tyred i say stupid stuff wen im tyred, its not any contries fault, not americas, not britans, its the companies fault
Motherfucking BP, are they stupid? How could they spill so much oil on the Gulf of Mexico? Don´t they care for the environment at all? That poison will seep on every coral reef of the Caribean Sea.
I hope they recover some of their fucking poison so they can sell it.
FUCKIn’ hot molly!
We dont need Gass or Oil The Deamn owner of oil busness are those who are killing are earth with thi shit we have to get read of it NOW No more Oild we can have free enegiry we can use solar cars or electric Cars we can even run them with wather there are so meany wayse to get ride of Oil and we need to get ride of it NOW Loock at this disaster and Weake UP
what exactly caused the bp oil spill anyway?
BP = BRITISH Petroleum
@UnableToGiveADam
I believe that it was a build up methane gas and it exploded.
I would check wikipedia,or
@Rainingsand Because they definitely did it on purpose.
@UFOHunter1690 you obviously have no clue what you are talking about because we dont just use it for energy… plastics, paint, medicine, dies, makeup, candles, cloths, fertilizers. as well as many other things, to just get rid of oil would be an economic disaster.
@Rainingsand apparently they are…
We already HAD an opportunity to learn from our mistakes. It’s just that we DO NOT learn from our mistakes. We are so confident in “Science” (which should mean “Knowledge”, but seems to mean something closer to “Mad Scientist”) and its ability to satisfy our GREED.
The justice is that England is going to get a good sodding from this, too.
I just wonder what happens if the ENTIRE Gulf is filled to the brim and then it catches fire. Are we looking at Dante’s Inferno, here?
why don’t they evacuate everybody and lite the oil on fire??
@letsrock1994
It will burn the wildlife.
imagine if someone dropped a match…?
His voice sounded so boring, that it hard to hear.
You would think PB would find a fast way to fix this so they don’t loose all that oil/profit. Although, I do find it odd that all their attempts to fix this problem has been trying to get the oil rather than just stop the leak.
@letsrock1994 because the fire would produce toxican gases. And as you propably know, the air streams in this area go to north…
@comics4komix
then first burn the wildlife and the oil has no wildlife to burn! #trollololo
At 3;09 this guy says something about our government………………………
Sorry my fellow American, we have no government, just politicians.
Serious Molly is Serious
Oh look, it’s Reese Witherspoon’s double…with a British accent.
RESPONSIBILTY? THE JOKERS IN THE WHITE HOUSE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THAT MEANS!
JANET NAPOLEONO SHOULD BE FIRED + PUT IN PRISON.
CLUELESS OBAMA SHOULD TAKE A HIKE.
THE AGENCIES WHO RUBBER-STAMPED THIS PROJECT SHOULD BE MADE TO SWIM IN THIS OIL FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS.
WHAT A USELESS GOVERNMENT. FOR 10 DAYS ALL THEY DID WAS GO “DUH…..”
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0510/37355.html
Sad face
@xXfrownyguyXx Too bad you won’t do anything
man, we’ve been screwing the pooch quite a bit lately as a nation.
@tycoon1994 Except it was Americans who spilt it…
@joey007007 Bullshit.
Interesting video - accidents happen, hopefully advances are made as we learn about this disaster. I do have wonder whose idea the dispersant chemicals was, sounded like a brilliant way to spread the problem…
@Jafefewalini Thank you. I’m glad to see that there are other people that know oil is not just used for energy. Without oil and the products derived from it our entire global economy would collapse. More wars would be fought in the absence of oil than have been fought for oil.
omg this is such a travesty.
I dont get it why dont we just send as many oil cleaning things as possible to clean it like right now instead of just standing back and watching?
@vicepresidentfru1tly but also there was an uncontrollable current in the ocean that ripped the rig out of place, technically it was not americas fault for mother nature doing her thing in the ocean theoratically of course
i wonder if this could be tied into some sort of conspiracy thing, probbaly not but i’d like to hear some opinions
@pudgeypigeon
A travesty of… what?
All those messages in school, all those Saturday TV cartoons that try to warn us. All those people who visited our schools to teach us this. All for nothing because we didn’t listen. The Gulf of Mexico will forever be destroyed. All that Marine life is now dead. We failed the world once again, and if I hear a single politician speak about offshore drilling, they’ve lost my vote and respect. Oh human race, you disappoint me, I’m ashamed of being part of this society.
Exxon valdez, Churnoble,How many disasters does it take to change an out of date system?. Windfarms and solarpower,electric cars all designed as to rid the earth from filth yet governments wont change because its not econimicly viable. These Oil companies are making BILLIONS and should take all blame and repay the world for the last 80 years of destruction
@Metroid02099 Nothing but an Epic Fail.
@Metroid02099 “All those people who visited our schools to teach us this. All for nothing because we didn’t listen.” Who are you talking to? Tell this to BP, not everyone on youtube.
@MeijinKino Even sader is that were forced to because America wont sign the Kyoto protacal
It’s too bad that the narrator went from reporting to editorializing. “Will the Gulf ever heal?” Give me a break. This is serious. VERY serious. And we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. However, the Gulf will undoubtedly recover.
@Bucknik I agree Nature has survived and repaired the damage of disasters far worst then the oil slick.
pathetic.. how can they have been so careless ..!!
my video is SO much cooler… search OFFICER PRICK
@cocaaaacolaaaa my video is SO much cooler… search OFFICER PRICK
@pokemon068 my video is SO much cooler… search OFFICER PRICK
@marko308 my video is SO much cooler… search OFFICER PRICK
@amido7 my video is SO much cooler… search OFFICER PRICK
idiots! u better fix this … quickly!
@sofasharky : O
You taken? ; )
@Gerhabio yeah and my guy’s da best!
@sofasharky He must be lucky.
Stop asking the government to bail you out.
@supertrinko firstly i said liberty island, and when you’ve got 1000’s of boats pulling nets that large over quite small areas, as the area’s of the oceans that contain life are actually very patchy, and small, it hads up to far more than you would care to imagine, i know, this was my degree sunject :)
@joey007007 of course, but the whole island does not make much of a difference. It’s hardly a zit on the face of the earth.
And yes, the marine life is patchy, which is a good thing considering this oil. If the marine life is spread out, less will be affected.
The replies i’m getting act like I’m not taking this thing seriously, of course I am, I was only commenting on the person who was acting like this would literally end the world. I know this will affect us for decades to come.
@Silentil yea i know but what do most people care about first? themselves or the environment? Of course the economy will affect them directly first. Just getting the trolls to know that their life is fucked up enough theres no need to spread it on the internet. Of course the oil spill directly affects the environment man.
Things like this are going to keep happening until everyone takes the steps to stop using this gunk to power their cars. Of course stoping the use of oil all together would be stupid, but can you imagine how much less we would hear about disasters like this if we didn’t depend on it so much? I’m not saying it’ll never happen after that but if there was a demand for normal and useful all-electric cars like the nissan leaf, the gov. would have to come up with the funds for the appropriate infostructure. And there are plenty of people willing to take those steps… I know that right now there’s a large group of people (including myself) who, as a reaction to this disaster, have stopped riding or driving cars altogether and refuse to purchase a car that isn’t a zero emmision car.
See? This is why we should just attack foreign countries who overcharge us for oil like both Bush administrations kept TELLING us!
@pokemon068 You must be kidding me. This is not nature made, it’s man made and they have no clue how to fix it.
@Metroid02099 They just reported that the oil goes down almost 600 feet and is now following the slip stream that goes around Florida. Then it’s up the east coast.
@personperson666 Because nothing like this has ever happened before and the oil is not only on the top of the water, it goes down 500 feet and is spreading.
@joen0411 There is no fast way to fix this, That oil goes down under the water for over 800 feet. It’s not just the top of the water. Also, it’s a deep water rig. There is no regulation for going that deep. BP knew that and did it anyway
Thanks Molly for sharing this video! I suppose this video showed the nightmare the disaster is far better than any heaps of stats would do. The narrator sounded as if he tried to suppress his crying when he started speaking about the impossibility to stop the sheen
And President Obama looked really more angry and worried than he used to be in most of his speeches when he articulated his last oil-spill statement.
And apart from all the environmental and social consequences, this catastrophe hit you Molly and left you with no smile. That is because your heart bleeds for the country you live in. You might try not to show such feelings, but you can’t get rid of them because you are all for nature. And this is the quality that unites you, the narrator and all the people who have ecological thinking.
What a waste.
Mount a cannon barrel centered in a tripod base , that would have a cannon shell loaded into it , with an expanding war head - lowered into place over the leaking hole, with the projectile pointed downward [ duh ] then , gradually lower the bullet closer down into the hole, and fire !
If the force of the projectile is greater than the oil pressure , it could possibly be plugged !
It seems that all of the attempts so far , are a joke , and no one’s laughing !
what a mess thanx bp you greedy sons of bitches
@Stripdancer100 what’s your point retard you think this is good or maybe i should ask what oil co. do you represent you cocksucker
It’s like trying to empty a swimmingpool with a thimble :(
all this tells me is that there is plenty of oil under the Earth’s surface and that gas prices shouldn’t spike the way that they do.
Chevron Canada has begun drilling the country’s deepest offshore oil well, as the firm sought to soothe fears over a repeat of the massive oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico. The exploratory well in the North Atlantic, is set to establish a new record in Canada with water depth at 2,600 meters. (8,530 feet)
That’s one kilometer (3,280 feet) deeper than the well that was being drilled by the Deepwater Horizon rig before it ruptured in the Gulf of Mexico. Strange how this story hasn’t surfaced on any national news broadcasts.
@mapleloaf67 i don’t think he even implied it was good but maybe his well structured statement was too complex for you.
FUCKING IDIOTS X(
Looking at Molly’s shirt is like staring at a Magic Eye puzzle. …Not that I stare at Molly’s shirt. …Not that there’s nothing on Molly’s shirt worth staring at. …Not that…….damnit
The shores of the gulf have some of my most fonded memories. I almost cry at the thought that my kids woln’t have the same chances there I had becouse some greedy fucks.
i didn’t get this impression from watching the news, they just made it look like if you could pick up a shovel and poof! :S down with the news!!
fdsgffdfd
@supertrinko no but imagine the island moving back wards and forwards over 1000’s of km2 then imagine that there are 1000’s of islands, it soon adds up.
@joey007007 I’m getting the feeling you’re not getting what I’m saying.
Google “How big is the Deepwater Horizon oil spill?” with the quotes.
The first link ‘paulrademacher’ It has a globe that shows you how the oil spill is like a zit of the face of the earth.
Like I’ve said, yes, it is dangerous, yes it is big compared to our own cities. Yes, this could have lasting effects on humans in america/surrounding countries. But it is ‘not’ the end of the world. I’m not underestimating it.
boring
this kind of disasters makes me sad :(
how is it 65,000 Kilometers SQ if earth is only 40,000 kilometers in circumference
@huntinater6k Square kilometers dumb ass.
“we have to have gasoline” bullshit hydrogen is hundreds of billions times more abundand and easier to produce then gassoline AND only emits water
@huntinater6k She said 6500 sq km. BTW 65000 sq km is possile as surface area of earth is 510,072,000 sq km
BP is infuriating.
wow, we just screwed over the countries nicest coastline. and i was just going to vacation there. :(
@crazygeek777 Yea… i know, but it’ll take time to put that together.
Well… it may be an ecological tragedy but atleast it isnt going into the atmosphere and causing global warming. Maybe god loves us? Maybe he just really hates you guys…
hmmmm…. started on 4/20??? there might b some relation to that hahahah
maybe a year at most if they were trying we already have technology to make and use hydrogen (making it is actuallly easier then gassoline) but the corperations don’t want to spend the billion (at the most) to set up hydrogen plants
Boycott BP
maybe someday society will have enough of this shit.
i wouldn’t doubt if obama used this to declare martial law. i
Obviously, BP was working outside its area of expertise. Special rules should be applied to something that hasn’t been done before. More safeguards need to be set in place. Especially if you are working in the dark!
where is there safety measures???!!!!!!!!!!
@j666cwilburn Thats the most retarded thing I’ve ever heard. We were more at risk of having martial law declared during the Bush administration.
@j666cwilburn Not saying that Obama is the answer to all our problems, but …JESUS!… we’re better off with him than Bush. Might wanna cut back on your Alex Jones intake. :)
@crazygeek777 Not like we need their help, isnt the point of this technology that it is decentralised.
Damn ant, how in the hell did you get back in here! Get off my desk!
sharpie in pooper pl0x molly
Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse. And everything in the sea died.
Revelation 16:3
A third of the sea turned into blood, 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. Revelation 8:8
@djemil4 man have gone to far they have the brain god gave them but yse it for curruption never shall the world experience true peace and harmony with both animals of nature and with each other not with the humans alive today
No thanx 2 Big Oil and the Bankers, 4 destroying Mother Nature v_v
I read somewhere that some French ?scientists? stated that the spill got into the gulfstream and they predicted it will get into the Atlantic. o.o
@soultosqueezeplease you need to open your mind remember the movie the knowing a couple years back!!!!!!!!!
@soultosqueezeplease if we were then why didn’t he maybe you need to pay more attention to the world and what actually happens. oh if its so retarded then why did you comment on my comment if you didn’t think it was possible.
What a powerful message. Rocketboom, you guys are doing an AMAZING job.
if this shit gets into the gulf stream and hits irish soil all i can say is, “Well at least you got rid of all the illegal foreign trawelers in our waters! Oh wait YOU KILLED ALL OUR FISH.” Seriously dude not cool. Mother nature is pissed at you and frankly so am i
i disagree, the government needs to take no responsibility. this is BP’s fault.
@falconpunch10 its ok, right now i think people should stop trying to place blame and find a way to fix this as best they can. im sorry i got all uppity im not even american, i just hate the blame game.
man, this almost made me cry…
Doesn’t really matter whose fault it is anymore. We’re screwed. So somebody steps up and takes the blame? So what? We’re stil ———- screwed.
FUCKING DUMB IDIOTS
Dr. Jacques Cousteau had been predicting these calamties 40 years ago! How many more mistakes will it take!? Alternatives, now!!
Good idea MCcain and Palin! >.>
The way I see it is that somebody wants to raise the oil’s price…
@p0lyamorous
This video sheds some light on the so-called cleanup operation.
Please watch “BP Fails Booming School 101″:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx8kMXufu3w
Warning: Language is very strong.
this is everyones fault, we are all dependet on oil, so it was bound to happen
you raise the price of oil by restricting the supply… not by releasing it into the ocean…
Hehe Butiez.
The people of this world have to realise that catastrophies happen both manmade and natural and all the safegaurds in the world are not going to prevent them. Beating each other up after the event is pointless. The Earth is not a fragile place, she is hugely powerful and will heal herself. If she gets really mad with us little ‘bugs’, she will wipe us out in one fell swoop!
@pvandean nice one. hey how can i get my company logo onto a (few kilometers of) containment boom in the gulf of mexico?
This will sound gross, but, get the humans to collect and sell the oil.
if a south coast american could paddle out and scoop up a few litres of oil then return to shore and sell it, market forces would ignite a rapid cleanup. We need a wealthy environmentalist to be willing to buy the useless stuff and or a LAW-MAKER to force BP to pay for each litre collected by local citizens.
@gattstheblacksword 1. If any, it will raise the oil’s price in form of new taxes and regulations for the companies.
2. That isn’t even the 0,06% of the world oils production.
Sorry about my English (and your catastrophe, of course), I share your indignation (an oil tanker spilled almost 600000 barrels of oil near where i live).
When he says “The government needs to take responsibility”, That’s basically saying “More taxes”.
this is what kills me millions are gonna be without a job,the oil is creepin up to the coasts of america,the fish and wildlife is being destroyed probley for decades and decades to come and the only thing you cocksuckers are worries about is your fuckin taxes
Does BP already own the oil or can anyone drill a well in that same area and take the oil?
Personally I am boycotting BP and will not buy gas from them until the spill is cleaned. I still don’t buy gas from Exxon.
Burn it all
[...] Posted Oil Slick | Rocketboom. [...]
Where’s Captain Planet when you need him? :(
I’m convinced that the oil spill is being handled by the writers of LOST. Each time one of their outlandish methods fails they come up with another idiotic plan to fail NEXT time.
@RivetsAndRain these arnt ‘new’ plans either.. every single one they have tried so far, was originally used in the IXTOC disaster in the mid 70s… and this one is even worse.. the only thing that worked in the IXTOC one.. was drilling relief wells near the spot, to suck up oil from the sides.. to lower pressure enough that it could be sealed. and thats months away from completion.
[...] zeigt beispielsweise Rocketboom in einem recht aufschlussreichen Beitrag vom 16. Mai, welches Ausmaß die Verschmutzung eigentlich [...]
@skel8tor It would be more trouble than it’s worth. In a million years after slushing around the oceans it will eventually setlte on the bottom.
