  2. RHawkeyed says:

@genetunerz22 Listen to it again, she was talking about the “castle bravo” bomb test, which was in 1954.

  3. Andrewnuva199 says:

2:49 “What will this beast do next?”

I think most movie fans would say “go after Hollywood to prevent more American remakes”

  4. superGWARfan666 says:

did any body notice the american godzilla fought the jap-godzilla in Godzilla: Final Wars and american godzilla got PWND!

  5. ipodxdude says:

time to resurrect an old meme

Yo Godzilla, imma happy for ya and imma let you finish but the cloverfield monster was one of the best monsters of all time, OF ALL TIME

  6. dalekkiller says:

what there is another american remake being done?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this can’t be happening

  7. Glenjamin87 says:

    Another American Godzilla remake? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  8. ModeLTU says:

Remake was atrocious. It’s a good movie by itself, but they might as well have named it “Jurassic Park”.Monster in that movie was NOT godzilla

  9. kovahk says:

Personally, I hated the first American Godzilla remake, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt this time. I won’t get my hopes up, and I expect to be disappointed. This is one time I’d be okay with being wrong.

  10. bakonfreek says:

@ashwinkga i’m not…fucked up…there’s no weed in my backyard…(shit!). where’s my fuckin memory reset flashey thingy!!

  11. Hulkmania316 says:

they are going to make a sequel of that great movie? Is going to be P.Diddy in the soundtrack? OMG!! this is awesome!!!

  12. KrypticKhaos14 says:

Not that I mind these videos from Molly, but honestly… I subscribed to this channel for the “Know your meme” videos… why did they stop?

  13. Hulkmania316 says:

In the western world we have the fallout games. They are the metaphore of the dangers of atomic war. Because war… war never changes.

  14. derekcolman says:

I well remember the first Godzilla movie. It was X rated, which meant you had to be over 16 to get in. As I was 15, and probably looked 12, I had to lie to get in, but after 10 minutes argument they let me in, probably because they were getting earache by then. It amuses me now to see it screened on TV at a time when small children may be watching.

  15. varan619 says:

    1. “Gojira” is the whale gorilla mash-up. 2. Clip at 2:00 is from the 90s. 3. Godzilla returned in 1983 (US version in 1984).

  16. armack2008 says:

You are VERRRY CUTE!! Also your accent, is it British? Love foreign accents!!! Specially in pretty ladies like you cutie!!!!!

  17. juventinorocks says:

@KrypticKhaos14 i agree with you, i think it’s because either A. they are working on more or B. they are “researching” for more memes to work on

  18. stevesusenet says:

I was fortunate enough to see the original Godzilla movie in an artsy theater near where I live. Contrary to popular belief it was not the Americanized black and white movie with Raymond Burr, nor was it a children’s movie. It was a serious film about the anxiety the Japanese felt about radiation, with Godzilla as a thinly veiled metahphor. The same anxieties they are probably feeling now.

  19. frankylovesyall says:

Godzilla lulz aside. The same men in labcoats who told you “nuclear is cool” are the same men in labcoats saying “we’re just going to ram particles together at the speed of light. No worries. Nothing can go wrong here.” LHC anyone? If splitting atoms cause this much destruction, why do we keep trusting these scientists to push the evelope? Will we finally get it when we see the news report some morning, “France and Sweden are destroyed and nothing but a crater in their place” when the LHC fails?

  20. frankylovesyall says:

@frankylovesyall At least we can count on our media heroes to tell us “text 1899 to red cross to donate $10 to the pile of rubble that is France and Sweden to do your part” and you fools will do as told and pat yourselves on the back for doing your part. We’ll all go on with our happy faces and some scientist will say “I’m gonna create some strange matter and just hook a bunch of magnets to it to see what happens” and we’ll all say “HOORAY!” till we get fucked by science gone wrong again. LOL!

  21. islandmornings says:

if you watch godzilla backwards, you’ll see a big monster rebuilding a broken city then moonwalking back to the ocean.

  22. httprover says:

An “IRL meltdown” is evidence that nuclear power is not as failsafe as it is promoted to be. The Fukushima crisis was not just the result of some operator error but rather a cascade of failures resulting in a complete system failure. It’s obvious that we need to “raise the bar” to prevent this from happening again by ensuring that a reactor will shut down in an emergency. The industry has crossed a tipping point.

    • Kam says:

Sup bro, just came here looking for you & to say hi. Too bad about the b-man ey? I miss that bugger.
Well I see the comments haven’t changed, all wanting to boink Molly & almost nothing on the content of the show, too bad or I might think of watching again. NOT! CC says hi & Joanne too.
      later

  23. yoshinibble123 says:

Hollywood doesn’t seem to understand that Godzilla is not T-Rex. It’s an anthropomorphically sized cross between a gorilla and a whale! :D

  24. 1955RodHot says:

I never realized the correlation between Godzilla and Nuclear power/accidents was that close. Thanks again to Rocketboom and Molly for helping me learn something new today!

  25. gulllars says:

Request for next episode, a statistic (pie chart?) on people killed and injured from various energy sources over the years. Coal, oil and gas has killed and especially injured a huge number of people, pluss contributed to climate change and local pollution.
I hope to hear a calming voice of reason from Molly the next episode, telling us compared to the other stuff that’s going on the reactors in japan is not a cataclysmic event :)

  26. MegaRekyyli says:

I’ve never thought that Godzilla would be a symbol for nuclear power. Thanks for this Molly, you made me think about Godzilla in a new way. :)

  27. IncurableAbbe says:

@ImbaNewb Happy 109th Birthday! Our profiles are the same color! …Yes, I creeped your profile. But only to get your age right in my birthday wish.

  28. so4eyo says:

@LulzBat your vapid attempt to accost me only detonates your desperate need for attention, i hope you get helps someday.

  29. RainGlobule says:

I was not aware of any of this at all. I saw Godzilla trending the other day and though people were just making inappropriate jokes.

  30. IncurableAbbe says:

@ImbaNewb No, no. You see, my wish was that you’d have a happy 109th birthday. But are you a genie? If so, I’d like a chia pet.

  31. TheReaperThanatos says:

@MyMMC I’m hopeful that this one won’t be the shit fest the last one was. As a plus, from what I read, the Toho company is apparently overseeing the project and since they’ve been in charge of Godzilla films in Japan, I’m hopeful the new one won’t suck major balls.

  32. Atreyu71 says:

@SonicobbsessedR2 even if they endup making 10bucks out of it, they dont care about the quality or persevering of the legend, THEY WANT FUCKING CASH FOR THEIR PLASTIC FAKE WIFES.

  33. TheSolitaryPoet says:

@SonicobbsessedR2 Things are looking good for once. I’ve seen some of what they are doing this time around and it’s not too shabby…take it or leave it but wait till you see more to decide.

  34. Annnabef9 says:

    @zilvergrafix well,
from what i can tell its just a blog about the new, or what ever she feels like talking about.
but about 70% of people who what do it to look at her….

  35. Splitskirts says:

Great clip and subject from the always beautiful Molly. I think the first Godzilla movie is still the best one; regards.

  36. KrypticKhaos14 says:

@Kaarox ok cool thanks man. they haven’t been making anything new over there, perhaps that’s why I couldn’t find it.

  37. peceahoe says:

    Effect of earthquake
Dead and missing, more than 20,000

    watch?v=Y3IOgIRZrJw?
    Japanese firefighters

    watch?v=K_0Vi0RpIYk
    Family is dead
    Girls cry, Mom. . . Mom…

  38. stiltman92 says:

Love the Big G, thanks for the tribute. Hopefully the next American stab at Godzilla will pan out better than the previous attempt. Can’t see how it couldn’t, but then I always end up surprised by how badly we can screw up something good.

Love the Godzilla dropkick from Godzilla vs. Megalon. Always makes me laugh.

  39. senorfatso says:

@theoriginalKland Well its the british director of ‘monsters’ doing it, it can’t be much worse than the ’98 remake.

  40. LoveThatSceneChannel says:

I love the chronologic correlation between Godzilla and Nuclear power events. – Very good!

Also I loved the spin-off cartoons as a kid!

  41. grendelee says:

3-mile island wasnt really a big deal. And oh man, is the american godzilla gonna suck. Probably gonna be a romantic comedy.

  42. CartoonTeakettle says:

    @XinKotetsu Not necessarily.
It could also be genderless, like the American movie explains. Not really a source you can trust, though.
It’s still possible, though, or is it said to be female in one of the movies?

  43. Docthewrench says:

Err She didnt even mention Godzillas Melt down a godzilla movie that all true godzilla fans watched as He finally died off in a horrific way. Godzilla VS Destroyah is one of the best Godzilla movies just because of how he was finally brought to a end in a way Not by the hand of man but by is own AWESOMENESS. I know few fans who didnt get misty eyed as Godzilla began to melt. I know in Japan this was a HUGE event and there was NOT a dry eye as he died.

  44. Dragzilla66XL says:

@theoriginalKland Yep they already starting to scrap they’re scripts right as we speak and they said that movie will be release in 2012 or 2013.
