    @NoGufff Only in the early 20th century Australia gained independence from the British empire, pretty much everyone born there since is officially of British descent. Accents form from any region where a language is spoken, here in the Netherlands there are areas where they speak Dutch strongly resembling German, and in other areas such as Friesland they have a Norse sounding dialect. Though it doesn’t sound much like dutch, it is officially Dutch. Australian English is not an official language.

    @NoGufff I’m not trying to insult you, I’m just saying what I hold to be true, the Wikipedia on Australian diaspora Says that 31.65% of the people claim to be English, 9.08% are Scottish, 7.56% are Irish and 0.57% Welsh. 37.13% claims to be Australian, but as a fact the Indigenous Australian people hold only 2.7% of the current population so you could say with great certainty that 2/3 of the Australian population is of British descent. However you are right about Molly’s accent being Aussie :)

    @RayKalmNiam Most people know that, but the ‘…In America!’ thing is a running gag on the YuGiOh abridged series, and he was simply referring to that in a sort-of clever way :]

    Either way, even one of the first memes ‘ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US!’ is from a japanese game, so it’s clear it’s not bound to America :D

    @KingdomOfGeorge you cannot translate japanese literally. if you write a sentence in a translator and translate the translation that it gives you is wrong, yes a fluent japanese speaker would have an idea of what you are talking about but it is wrong. we write in english: I went to the zoo (subject-I, verb-went and object-zoo). japanese to translate correctly is written like: I zoo went (subject, object and verb), which with the wa, adn ga stuff would translate to I went to the zoo .

    @mokaibaNEW And I’m sorry to disappoint you, since I very well know Japanese. I CLEARLY hear her say 「アイの中の蛙（かわず）、大海を知らず」 instead of 「井の中の蛙、大海を知らず」, since she instinctively pronounced the letter ( i ) as an English/American person would, instead of how Japanese pronounce い
    Seeing as you describe yourself as an ‘otaku’ on your profile, and also didn’t hear her misprounciation, you would probably make the same mistake and your pronounciation is probably lacking as well!

    I do watch A LOT of anime, and I think I’m very familiar with Japanese, but I promise you I could not recognize a single Japanese word out of that sentence with her heavy accent no matter how many times I tried :P

    @NiDeCo she pronounced how it looked (which is normal for those who do not know the vowels sound different). my post was for her and you to show she was wrong, adn you were wrong; just because she pronounced it wrong doesnt mean it means another thing. she put (badly written) in english what she was trying to say therefore you should have disregarded the mispronunciation just like you would if a japanese person was screwing up english words.

Just as the land that makes up England is a subset of the land that makes up Britain, the group of english accents is a subset of the british accents. You see, if you say that an accent can’t be british because Britain is made up of four diferent countries with diferent accents, then you must also say that an accent can’t be english either! After all, there is no single english accent, or even a main one.

    @Nibor7301 Instead, you have a very large and varied set of regional accents. All those accents, Cockney, Geordie, etc, are english accents, and thus, also british accents.
    You see what I’m saying? I identify my accent as british, english, and… er… actually, I’m not sure what region my accent would be associated with. : / It’s probably some kind of hybrid.

    @doggybag71 I know, but we must at times ignore the little things. she subtitle what she was trying to say and we should just overlook the incorrectness of what she said. I talk to people for 8hrs a day at work who are from (on average) 30 different countries throughout my day. they screw shit up all the time and I just ignore it…I know what they are trying to say and I shouldnt point out that they were wrong, its a bit impolite and rude.
