@ellamorton Now that I think about it, it seems so obvious! I might have guessed well-off English or something like that. My apologies :)
OH MY GOD THAT WAS GREAT. Pahahahahah
Ella sounds great no matter what accent she speaks with.
Ella you are so cute :-)
Ella, I bet she couldn't teach you to speak like a Brummie if she tried for years!!
@cricketbat08 Brummie is like scouse, pretty damn ugly no offence :P
Before I knew you were from down under, I always thought that you were British. Must be your education. And good for you, because you sound like your heroes. Emma Thompson, Tilda Swinton and Stephen Fry!
Very nice done! Very learnable!
LOL... that was great, Ella :D
lollll cuute
hahhahaloooololol
Let's all sound like a dumbfuck
Very entertaining!
that was super funny
Heheh.. Ella is the new George Louis Costanza! :-)
Haha! That was great!
This music is so annoying!
Who said you were losing your Australian accent? They were so very wrong.
Do you suppose it sounds like that at a confrence in the U.N. ?
lol this reminded me of Seindfeld
LOL Wadda.
Dunno why thats funny. :B
In the case of accents like the Australian one, is it the accent that's sexy, or the uncommonness about it?
@3rkid2 it's not uncommon in australia... :P
i didnt know she had an accent
Before I knew you were from down under I always thought you were British. Must be your education. I'm glad there's still no hint of an American accent though.
And you can always suppress it by drinking a glass of wine (or two) ;-)
I would like to buy a damburguãh
That was great. I asked for little bottles of water along with you and it was better than a year of dialect classes in college.
So funny! I love you, Ella! :)
I didn't know that that was the New York accent. I thought it was the "Italian" accent
@Realbigant Rocketboom NYC: Now with added education.
@gururedux Most people think I'm British. I'll take it!
@AnAngyVillager I was raised on a steady diet of Seinfeld. "The sea was angry that day, my friends. Like an old man trying to return soup at a deli."
@Probewitch I've been to the UN and it is EXACTLY like that.
"g-day, hows it going" awww ur so cute! haha!
@TOstevo I will ensure the composer is beaten with reeds on your behalf.
@cfx3 Okay, you go first!
LOL, great both of them!
<3 <3 <3
that was awesome
@stringer630 I think I will put "Thoroughly weird, yet entertaining" as a tagline on my business card.
@ellamorton I knew I should have patented that. Doh! Btw, don't lose your Aussie Accent :)
Ella, I just gotta say, ur not urself t'day.
Ella , I like you as you are ! Why the worries on the sounds of your voice ? You are refreshing to listen too ! Oh by the way your hair style looks gorgeous ! I love that look on you if I might say (-:
awesome!
I saw water wah dur
I say water wah dur*
To speak New York is more than the accent, you also have to speak Manhattan and World Trade Port as your life experience. I speak Californian, to do such a thing it helps to actually have been to Surf City and see the naked surfer statue, that has been a symbol of California, and then tour Hollywood, such as Universal Studios where they actually part the Red Sea for the tour tram and you pass like Moses, and, also, tour Disneyland. Dialect is also beyond the speech, into your culture.
Too much little vodkas
You New Yorkers be soundin' like gangster talk is all I hear.
So amazing to see two equally endearing accents on a cute redhead xD
Link not working?
Accents are awesome.
the last part you said sounded pretty real. ellamorton = WIN
Poisonally, you will sound much better witt-ah New Joizzy accent, an none of dose New Yohk joiks! Dey kweeps. xD
"Hey Ellaaa!!.. Hey Ellaaa!!,... Hey Ell-Laaaahhh!!!... Don't you ever leave the Internets baby!!!" :oP
You can become as New York as you like, just promise never to go Jersey.
@WOWJBEOWULF Wow, so you're saying if a tourist attempts the accent *and* goes and looks at some cheesy landmarks, it'll work out better for them? Got it!
ella is da boss
@DeRealUno Too much? Not enough!
I love your red hair
She's a fast learner o.O
@ellamorton haha ;)
That was funny :D
ella's so cute when she starts giggling after speaking in the NY accent.
Yo! Ella RocketBoobs! Forgedaboudit!! Capeesh?
Its funny to me how my tristate accent automatically returns as soon as the plane lands. i miss f 'in ''Jersey'' the fringin ''City'' and ''Longisland'' .
loved this.. Thanks Ella...
I found Omid Djalili to be one of the best accent based comedians. It's so hard to actually tell he is a Londoner behind all his accents.
It's great to see a comedian who can float between African, Asian, Middle Eastern, European, Carribean and American accents so fluidly...
His nigerian accents are my favourite. Ella! Do you think you imitate a Nigerian? Or does that go too far?
You sure are a quick learner, Ella. Loved this Rocketboom, keep it up! :)
I love them redheads.
Heh, the first time I flew to New York, I met on the plane a half Australian/American like you, who taught me how to ask for "a bagel with a schmear" in the New York accent. It was quite linguistically educational :D
@ellamorton I get that too overseas. I find if you don't speak with a broad Australian accent, then people (especially Americans) assume you're a Brit.
Next, do a new jersey one :)
psycho b*tch.
It's a blend of the Yiddish and Italish mostly.
Best RBNYC in like ever!
@wackattack180 It's entirely possible that I may have been a little bit kidding about the whole "wanting to speak like a New Yorker from now on" thing.
Amy is great-she knows what she's doing. Ella, good job. I'm from LA but I like the accents of NY. Makes me smile when I visit that area now and again.
@R1DDL3RS I accept there are people who don't like the Brummie accent, but it is still very hard for anyone to imitate convincingly. I would like to see Ella attempt it!! :)
excellent!
nice one
this was fun!
I enjoyed this immensely. Do more like this!! ^_^
this was helpful, all I had was Joey's "how you doin?" from Friends :P
very cool vid :)
loved this
yo ka
I didn't know Kirsten Dunst was Australian.
This is one of the few vids we get to see the real you... less reserved and more spontanious... its a welcome change of pace...
Pretty red hair is so.. pronounced, in this. Intentional or no?
that was excellent! I'm a New Zealander an our accent is mocked continuously :P
Awesome!
Very fun!
Don't lose your Aussie accent Ella!
You caught on really fast. Noice woak!
So what I take from this is that New Yorkers are rude and speak improper English.
Wonderful! Ella, this is fantastic.
@OkNowImWatching: One man'd rude is another man's self-assured (as someone who's English, the "New York" attitude isn't to my taste either, but I don't think New Yorkers mean to be rude - it's just a bit more strident than we're typically accustomed to). Improper English is how English evolved, given the beauty of the result, it's a process that should be allowed to continue.
This was so awesome. Ella, you totally have an Aussie accent! I think maybe because you articulate, people think it isn't Aussie, since most of us are lazy with out speech, and even fewer of us have had voice training.
this dialect lady sounds more jewish than italian. just my opinion. haha
Don't lose your australian accent! Love it ;)
lol, awesome
my gf is australian!
Well done! LOL!
You're still cuter with yer Oz accent than with a NYC accent. :p
yo wazup
Please don't loose your accent.
you wanna learn how to do the accent, spend a week in brooklyn and youll be fine :)
but still her aussie accent is not as strong as mollys
Ok. Now try a Texas accent.
This is amazing!
This was awesome!
LOL! That was an hilarious post! You guys have a terrific on-screen energy together. Actually handy to know before my NYC departure. Props! xx
