1. How comes that the most brilliant intellects — and I mean biologists, physicians, chemists, physicists — never give a damn about cognitive training, mind sharpening and things of this sort? Has it anything to do with the exploration of a new market of wannabes?
2. I don’t know how and if the stress on the growing older in this video relates with the more general topic of antiaging medicine. But antiaging medicine is to a large extent business driven quackery.
3. I admit I laughed a bit at the transcranial magnetic stimulation. Well, a bit more than a bit. I’m still laughing.
Ellie, the Kindle as post-gutemberghian tool for knowledge transmission may be a great subject for a future episode.

I’ll be happy if anyone can prove me wrong on this. I think these guys have great writers and nice actors, but an ad is an ad. Ultimately it doesn’t even make any difference if they were payed or not, it still sound like copy.

It is a strange accent indeed! He can’t say “sh” sounds. He says “Sar Brains”. Listen 0:17 . He says it again at the end when he mentions their website 4:01 . He also says “deh-sihz-ee-uhns” 0:47 for “decisions” and “funk-see-uhns” 1:40 for “functions”.
Since I focus on the Tech show, I try and get mentions of things everyone would find interesting- from applications, ideas, to yes, even products. That doesn’t mean I’m paid to say any of them. If I was, you would know. :)

A lot of us have that accent, I like it. I think it gives us a unique regional identity, and that’s something that a lot of people don’t have. If someone doesn’t like it then maybe there’s a bit of jealousy there, but that’s just my opinion.
I’ve known for years that video games are good for you, so long as you play them in moderation.

I refute that. I’d say the majority of individuals, or a large number of people in all nations, have an accent which allows them to be associated with their specific country.
I should have been more specific, you’re right that a lot of people do have accents that are associated with their specific country. I was however talking about regional dialects within my own country. Not everyone has a dialect that can be associated with a specific region, whereas some of us do. A Texan drawl’s just as cool an accent as any other. Anyone who would make you feel less cool or intelligent for having one, may just be jealous because they don’t have one.
