Well, at least they were all smiling, laughing and seemingly having fun. Not much we can do there except send them B-man\’s giant rubber ducky from a few days back!

What about the polluted water?! Those kids floating around are obviously at risk. But, heck, I used to get infatigo (sp?) every summer playing in the street rain downpour puddles when I was a kid here in the good ol’ USA … what fun! -s

Spelling: Impetigo: a bacterial skin infection characterized by blisters that may itch… most common in children, particularly children in unhealthy living conditions. -s

  5. The residents of Mumbai seem to have a better sense of humor in times of disaster than residents of the USA would have. I didn\’t see them trying to blame anyone for natural disasters. They just rolled with it. Which goes to explain why we outsource jobs to people who seem to have a better attitude than our own \”blame\” everyone crowd.

Yes, it was the rain drainage water flowing in the streets…where I played with my self-made torpedo boats. I lived in a typical, 50s suburban household (read: clean!) and also used to collect snakes, frogs, turtles in ditches and ponds… and bring them home (to the disgust of my folks)… if THAT\’S what you\’re referring to ;-) -s

My man B, please explain your rating system. Is that an 8 out of a possible 10, or eight tenths? which would be four fifths, which is almost a 1, which is pretty low for todays ep, wet as it may be.

      1. Kam baby, if you had put that humongous joint down once in a while, you would recall that it is out of TEN…I guess I’ll clarify my rating once more:

Today’s Rocketboom Episode rates an 8.00123 out 10

My daily rating of Rocketboom is a personal protest against RB rating our comments with a +/- which I think is totally ridiculous.

      2. see what I mean!

to the 2 people who added their minus, why do you believe rating comments with a simple click of your mouse is a good idea? I’d like to hear your thoughts.

<sarcasm>Huh? Thoughts? On what? I just liked watching the numbers change when I clicked on the + & -. </sarcasm>

OK… I confess… I did one. But it’s not because I don’t like your posts — I think you’re one of the BEST posters on this blog-o-sphere(?} — it’s because you seem to take it too seriously. Come-oooon… it IS ridiculous! You must be a ‘young’ fella. (Feel free to ‘negate’ all of my comments… checking in here is a brief entertainment moment for me… not a seeking of validity). It’s interesting… I’m very political (Liberal!!!), and could go to many-a political comment area to rant and rage, but RB is the only place I choose to visit daily… why? Who cares ;-) -s

      5. No it’s quite simple actually. If you have something to say, like you just did, then I invite you to say it. “Express yourself” as Aretha said it best. If all one can do is add a + or - what are we in some Roman arena where the audience gave the thumbs up/down before the lions appeared? …There’s this new cool concept floating around out there…it’s called thinking. I feel like I’m in kindergarten here. How about giving out “stars and stickers” too!

        Why even have a comment section: why not just have icons: + /- /* /sticker/ bong/ empty bong/ stones/dagger/ wine / sledgehammer /

Well SB, if you think I’m way too serious, you really haven’t seen many of my posts have you? Kam I think StephBabe needs a hit of that SuperDoobie.

Except, I agree. This + or - thing is silly. The comment (expression) is more important than what someone out there in lalaland might click to \’+ or - one\’s point. I think instead of + or - , that person should express their point of view.

I guess I might suggest it be eliminated (gasp!)

        Uh… No… I don\’t need a hit tonite… I wait for the weekends ;-) -s

      9. There used to be a filter so people could ignore unfavorable comments. Now that the filter is gone, I guess the ratings have no use. (I didn\’t like the filter much because there was a risk that a bad comment could actually be useful.)

    Reconcile this:
Global warming has already changed world’s rainfall patterns: study
    ————————————————–
AFP, 23 July 2007 - A study has yielded the first confirmation
that global warming is already affecting world’s rainfall patterns, bringing
more precipitation to northern Europe, Canada and northern Russia but less to
swathes of sub-Saharan Africa, SOUTHERN INDIA!!, and Southeast Asia.

The only store open is the liquor store, somehow I find that amusing. What I also found funny is people standing in knee deep water, soaked to the skin & they\’re still wielding an open umbrella. (maybe she just had her hair done)
Hopefully the kids will have a dry place to sleeep tonight.
Along with most of southern England, I see my home town of Maidenhead is under water too. Time to bust out the jet ski.

    1. Hey K, I\’ll take 2! Are those bullet holes? I didn\’t know you owned a Kryptonian dog. I too found the liquor store open to be quite amusing. I guess if the flood had taken place in Jamaica the ganja store with a lineup with the longest dread locks in first positon. I think the umbrellas were to protect against the negative ions emitted by the dark and evil cumulo nympho clouds…

Ever see a dog wearing rubber booties? Up here it is becoming more of a common site in winter due to road salt infecting cuts on their paw pads. You can actually see the shame and embarrassment on a big dog like a Rottweiler or Doberman\’s face as they try to maintain a dignified stance walking down the street! They literally lift their feet right up to their stomachs on every step! I can just see one running along chasing a ball wearing this thing! The cones used to stop them from licking healing wounds are a hoot also! The little foo-foo floormop type dogs seem far less affected by this.

Yes, I am an animal lover and no dogs were harmed or shamelessly laughed at in the research and writing of this post.

Now, please, don\’t start the marijuana debate. It\’s just too good for that. (since 1966 here.. and it helped me survive PTSD after Vietnam). btw: I\’ve NEVER smoked a tobacco cig in my life… or meth, or cocaine (sp?) etc. True! I actually have to work late tonight. See ya\’ll later. -s
