I simply expressed a little disappointment that they neglected to include what I find to be a very interesting, and intentional, subtext to the Wonder Woman character. We aren’t making this stuff up, His opinions and writings were pretty well documented.
At 9, of course I didn’t know anything about it, but it was there, almost like subliminal advertising. And right now, there is a very large BDSM subculture. Isn’t there a chance that people feel like they can be more free and open about such interests because everyone who grew up watching or reading Wonder Woman was made a little more open to it by his influence?

The difference between all your examples and my own is that yours are all speculation done by outside people. Any fool can read any message into just about anything.
But in the case of Wonder Woman, Marston didn’t hide his interests or his influences. He was pretty open about it.
There is a big difference between random fools claiming something vs. the actual creator of the character confirming it. Here is an actual quote from Marston. “The only hope for peace is to teach people who are full of pep and unbound force to enjoy being bound”
That’s not speculation.
If we stand by wikipedia definition BDSM is consensual sex between adults.

But even if we could agree that Marston had a role in designing and popularizing BDSM I see him more as a crank than as a sort of vicious propagandist of sadism, submission and cruelty. Wonder woman’s undertones aren’t a great deal, frankly.

polygraphs are not 100% foolproof, and i’m not talking about someone that is “trained” to deceive the machine.
polygraphs can determine if someone is lying, but it can also produce false positives(saying that someone is lying when they are telling the truth). In other words, if someone passes the test, there is a very high chance that they are truthful; but if someone fails the test, you can not definitively conclude anything.

Yes, probably there are plenty of them. My comment was an over-generalization. But in addition to the various super-women who deserve the title, there are also a huge number who are just “girl” versions of some pre-existing male character (i.e. Supergirl, Batgirl, etc.)

@83244genesis To get the video to run you must click to a point faather in the video that hasn’t loaded yet and then click to about 4 or 5 second in the video, it works alot faster than turning the hq on and off.
No mention to the S&M undertones of Dr. Marstons’ WW stories which would also be the reason why WW uses bracelets?
