  22. I have updated many articles on WikiP only to have them removed. I simply don’t believe his system works properly at all and have long since given up writing or editing anything on there.
He certainly didn’t address this and I feel Mr Wales site is more a case of information by his design and his design alone.
Sorry, while WikiP is a useful tool (there is no denying that), it’s simply the way his site has left me feeling about it and I refuse to even try to update or edit anything on there any more.

  23. Wikipedia could be a great idea, but I never rely on it when it comes to controversial issues. The keyboard warriors are always on the look out to enhance their agenda, while I never made an article or an editing on hot subjects just out of my respect for objectivity, not trusting my own impartiality myself.

PS. The initial pic of the Youtube video is generally very well chosen, but today Ella is horrible (in the pic, I mean). What happened?

    Mikipedia Founder Mickey Mouse

I started Mikipedia as a source for mice to discuss the whereabouts of cats and cheese. They are our mortal enemies and Jimmy doesn’t have any info in Mousian which is the language we speak. We are planning to team up with Google House View & Google Room View so we can know where it’s safe to hang. Of course DisneyWorld is the safest place on earth for us meeses, but everyone else hates us to pieces.

Most wikipedia articles have many references that can be tracked down, not to mention further research sections. It isn’t always complete, but wikipedia is a good way to get info together quickly, due to how much gets compiled right away.

Should I even mention how easy it is to get a publisher to let you publish a book? Some publishers check their content less than wikipedia does, which is pretty insane. Any information that is incorrect can be double checked by cross-reference.

Wikipedia is certain one of the most impressive ideas to pop out of the internet. I love that it promotes the interest in the concept of verifiability. It is sad when one utilizes a single source claiming ‘it must be true, it’s written’. Citation is provided in Wikipedia offsite to point other sources and therefore more complete and separate sources; its a link page of interest by interested parties bringing unconfirmed but dynamically verifiable focus to a modern age of information overload.

Wikipedia is a great source of information and the only reason teachers don’t want us to use it is because we would have all the information we need in just one place and we wouldn’t have to do any other research. Wikipedia can be edited by people but the information is accurate.

  77. It is very disturbing to see how much people have been taken in by this cult of Wikipedia. It is an inherently destructive resource (as it drowns out better-researched sources), mismanaged by a devious Foundation. But, looking at the comments here, it would seem that its supporters are too juvenile in thought to imagine anything adverse about this train wreck of knowledge.

Go look up “Human economy” on Wikipedia right now, then tell me it’s the best resource on the planet.

But you must check the sources of info in the footnotes. Sometimes the cited sources can be totally unreliable. Don’t take it for granted that the editor has good references.
