    Bad story.

On the other hand, here’s Amy Goodman’s show of about ten days ago on a case of five Palestinians in Dallas who have received prison terms up to 65 (I mean, sixty-five!) years for collecting money for needy Palestinians in the occupied territories, despite NO LINKS TO VIOLENCE:

    http://www.democracynow.org/2009/5/29/holy_land

On a weekly basis I watch and read a gargantuan lot of US news and I can’t remember me coming across an infinitesimal subatomic particle of the outrage raised by this North Korean case.

Both of these journalists will eventually be released through negotiations with the US, won’t last more than a few months. All North Korea wants is attention, this is what all their missile testing the last few years has been about. They know they will soon be toppled militarily or diplomatically, they will eventually be just another trade partner. It is shameful what this government has done to it’s own people, but we shouldn’t be over there in the first place. Who made us world police?

As for these few dummies saying we should go to war and invade North Korea, think about the hundreds of thousands of South Korean and American troops that would die in the first 24 hours, and ask yourself this question again.

War is not the answer to everything

Yea but how long will those negotiations take before they even make any ground really? I’ve never been to North Korea so I can’t say what it is really like, I only know what I’ve been told or shown, and from what I’ve seen and heard I don’t think I’d want to even be close to that country from fear of what could happen.

The US gov’t has all kinds of motivation to infiltrate North Korea with spies. 1. Maybe you haven’t heard about the nuclear program? Too much xBox. 2. Long-range ballistic missile technology. 3. Its independence from western ways is inspiring to those who understand the farce that is representative democracy. Better coined as a “de facto aristocracy.” The people of North Korea have achieved in spite the fear mongering of the west. Those “journalists” are taking it up the ass as we write.

Hard pick. On one hand the double standard to decide the human cases where the hearth is allowed to bleed and those bound to oblivion. On the other hand the utter lack of compassion for two women that are kept from their families in such a dire situation.

The two were obviously doing what their relatives and their colleagues are saying they were, that is reporting work, and they deserve respect and support for it.

Spying? The CIA collects intelligence via satellite surveillance and radio signals eavesdropping, and in the rare cases it uses humint (human intelligence), its recourse are highly trained operatives that can settle in the country behind an official cover up and develop a network of local informants in a work that generally takes years.

Never mind the quaint assumption that the CIA recruits its agents in Al Gore’s turf, first hand reporting abroad is a very demanding task, and to think that the two women had the spare time to work as operatives collecting information that isn’t already available to CIA analysts is just baloney.

I wish Laura and Euna to be back home as soon as possible.

It’s sad to see so many people who believe what their gov’ts tell them without question. That’s exactly what all religions teach. Trust without challenging authority. American democracy is an illusion. The candidates are chosen for the people. It’s a 2-party system. People don’t vote for the issues. They vote for the people.. The people who are in charge are unelected officials. Many aren’t even visible and their actions are certainly not transparent. The US gov’t systematically continues to test its citizens with biological agents. Most victims are unaware of the atrocities. Also, debt is a scheme developed by the US to oppress the stupid.

i hope the US government, which had nothing to do with the work of Laura Ling & Euna Lee, will not make any deal to get them back. The issues between US and DPRK are much larger than two journalists who took a chance and lost.

Actually Lisa Ling did in fact did a documentary pertaining to North Korea about a year ago. In a way it was a covert project but she did have North Korea aware of her actions ans she was not harmed at all. I believe that NK are using these two reporters and their crew as a outlet to exhort their power to the world.

I have a cat but I can’t support an ideology that I don’t know anything about. All I know is the system I grew up in. So shut the fuck up about your stupid stats. What the fuck is a cat fetish? Just because you love your cat it suddenly becomes a fetish? I guess everybody has a friend fetish. Except you that is. dumb fuck.
