I really like this bit with Laura Ling- she seems very down to earth and articulate. I also love the model for the new network which is why I am having such a difficult time with the choices made regarding the majority of the Current TV hosts. People like Amaya Brecher and Max Silva give the network a slick, superficial look that doesn’t help attract people that want to create sincere, intelligent content. I hope that people aren’t dissuaded by these images because I the network really is a wonderful opportunity for viewers to take bake TV.

I completely agree. This host choices were very poor and didn’t take into consideration the independent mission of the network. This is still a ridiculously new network that has lots of room to grow. The potential is overwhelming.
interesting article and thanks to this interesting site
thanks for your daily work
Hey Drew:
I think I can help the audio. Give me a day or so to get to it. If it’s too late, let me know.
I appreciate the effort, eggzakt. The audio is clearer, but i don’t think that is better.
I don’t like the ’swirl’ of low bandwidth digitized audio (I want my analog bag phone back!), and I think the ambiance is important for an interview on the street - if you want a quiet background, do it in the studio.
for example, when I heard the siren, I made a guess that it was the big apple.
The best way to handle this is to capture the audio properly, not process it. The microphone mounted on the camera is designed to pickup everything. A mic with a little more directionality doesn’t have to be terribly expensive.
on the other hand, I could understand the message the way it was, so leaving it alone would be fine w/ me.
I am going now to check out current tv. I’ll be back.
