I liked very much the part when you asked him about being in his bedroom - the eyes said it all. If I was on a couch with you and heard you say “bedroom” I would have imediately hid under the cushion and wept.

It is funny that this video is being compared to what is wrong with the music industry. I was going through and moving many of my old CD’s to my iPod when I discovered what was missing from current music and that would be the art and inspiration.
Granted, this is merely a lipsync, but considering that it is a song that was not common to the US proves that the talent is still here. Now if we can get record execs at the major labels to take a risk and sign new artist that actually produce music and not the crappy noise. Now that will be a challenge

I must say I was completely delighted to see the interview. I loved the video (the original…not the one with all the radom clips of other people inserted) and always wondered what Gary thought of all his Internet fame. Gary…way to capitalize on that hype and make your own website. There’s so much on the internet about this Numa Numa video as well as O-Zone’s own music video and many other remakes.
It just goes to show how amazing the Internet is and how closely connected we all can get when the right media comes along.
Way to go Rocketboom! Joanne, keep seeking out those random, off-site interviews…they make the show more interesting.

Generally I enjoy RB comments but there are a few things about the section that annoy me:
1. The clowns who brag about being first to post every day. What skill does that take? Who cares?
2. The wolves who comment on Joanne’s hair or looks, positively or negatively. She’s a beautiful woman. She’s not going to do herself up to please you. Get over it.
3. The self-appointed critics who complain the show is boring, stupid, too liberal (*gasp*) or otherwise not up to their lofty standards. So where is your vlog where you show your superior creativity?

Yes, they’re annoying, but then you have to understand they’re probably 12 years old (more or less), and just wade thru their posts.

Okay, I’ve seen a whole lot of people asking what the name of that song is and who it’s by. The band is O-Zone, and the song is Dragostea din Tei. It’s on their album Discozone. They’re actually surprisingly good; I bought the album after I saw the Numa Numa video just for the purpose of getting that song, but the whole CD is great. It’s all really upbeat. =D

I do think that the song and it’s imitators is signifcant, however the guy wasn’t very charismatic in his interview.
This story is old. There are thousands of Numa numa videos out there, from Brookers to others, in different languages and more. Too bad there wasn’t any information at all on the band o-zone and the song dragostea din tel or the album discozone to see the impact of this viral marketing campaign.
