normally I would say ‘i’m going to shoot myself in the face’ but no…. now I want to call upon my fellow youtube haters and someone please… please.. shoot me in the fucking face.

  2. ElGrandeBanana says:

@MrGreenbaypackersfan Ik denk dat ze een hele stapel van die filmpjes hebben liggen. (als je Nederlands spreekt xD) If not, tja, bummer. :P

  3. zdepapepa says:

    @ald0sco
Congratulations, you can truthfully say first, as in first comment actually related to the content of the video. :)

  4. chill579 says:

These are brilliant, anyone who comments saying something retareded like “OMG WHERES MOLLY SHE IS SO FIT OMG” is a close-minded fool. DO YOU HEAR ME, FOOL!!

  5. unorthodoxJ says:

This isn’t just a problem in Africa

Children growing up in situations like this, raised by unintelligent television and not being taught the value of education, is scarily close to home

  6. Kezzybob says:

This is great, I’m really glad they’re doing this. Developing spacial ability and learning colors and shapes, and even just having something to interact with, is great for early learning… it’s good to see they’re managing to help some kids out.

  7. lemonsyay1 says:

@ald0sco that’s not LEGO, that’s MEGABLOCKS BOOO YEAH, in all seriousness give the children your megablocks.

  8. McBlemmen says:

@ElGrandeBanana why would someone who understands dutch whine about it beiing a dutch commentary , fucking retard

  9. TrueSoreThumb says:

I’m glad that you guys have put this content up here. I normally find such educational and interesting videos from TED.

  10. deltatux says:

Nice incite about lives in other places THAN the US or other developed countries. Keep up the great work Rocketboom!

  11. heymrk says:

I wish early education was required in my state. But then, our legislators don’t even fund K-12 education and suck up the losses the federal government offers by purposely not meeting the requirements.

  12. puretroubleman says:

0:34 is pretty disturbing. cant they teach children even basic stuff like 1,2,3

or build them toys from wood?

  13. johnnytastetest says:

@chill579 – I wouldn’t go so far as to call them “brilliant.” More like self-righteous. I don’t know where Rocketboom gets these videos, but have you not noticed that they all have a similar theme? They all involve white people boasting about the stuff they’ve given to African countries.

“I gave a bunch of day care centers some wooden blocks.”
    “That’s…neat. I guess.”
“Did I mention all the kids could do was stare at the CEILING before I came along?”
    “Really? You’re a genius, then!”

  14. Metroidzard says:

Start a daycare with one pop-up pirate and one crocodile dentist. BAM! You are now the best daycare outside of Durban.

  15. gulllars says:

@johnnytastetest brilliant in the sense of shining a light on a dark situation, not the amount of intellect required.
The next step up is perhaps to get some simple logic based games in there, like chess, and language games. I learned to play chess at 4,5 years old, and started playing NES and computer games unsuprovised at 6 years old. I had a significant advantage in knowledge adaptation rate and logic reasoning over my classmates in grades 1-7 but the school was too slow paced so i got bored.

  16. JDNiasukdbgas says:

This is so nice and brilliant, when they’re old enough they will kill and rape farmers and their families and also know colours and stuff!

    Just great!

  17. IHaveAGenericName says:

I really like that rocketboom has been bringing light to situations within underdeveloped countries. Keep them coming.

  18. johnnytastetest says:

@gulllars – A “dark” situation, huh? Good one. I’m of the opinion that these people shouldn’t need outside help with this kind of stuff. If their creativity and motivation is lacking to the point where they can’t create their own cheap wooden blocks or come up with their own rudimentary chess set, then that’s just pathetic. Of course, they DO have this ability, which reinforces my original contention that these are self-righteous videos.

  19. OkNowImWatching says:

These people make more than one baby, regardless if they can or can not provide for it.
Work your way out of the slums, and then plan on making children, so that they will not have the same tragic fate that you had while growing up.
A general tendency for bettering one’s self is needed here. School is the best way to achieve that. No schools -> No hope.
Disadvantage a child at this critical step in his development and you doom him for life.

  20. gulllars says:

@johnnytastetest self-righteous depends on the person helping. If you look down on the people you help as pityfull and less worthy, you are self-righteous. If you want to help people in a tough situation out of goodness and compassion, you’re not.
I don’t see any clear signs of self-righteousness in this video.
I have little patience for self-righteous people, but even less for proud willfully ignorant people (not that you are one).

  21. utopianheaven says:

Instead of running half way across the world for a cause, Molly could walk 10 miles and find this in outer-NYC… though that would require leaving Manhattan, so we know it won’t happen.

  22. da1ved says:

People with down syndrome and other mental disabilities can lead relatively normal lives if they have alot of mental stimulation when they are kids.

  23. johnnytastetest says:

@gulllars – You’re right, I’m not ignorant. I’m just playing devil’s advocate here. I don’t think someone necessarily has to have a low opinion of someone else to consider themself righteous, do you? Those kids should definitely have the basic building blocks of a solid education (so to speak), but they’re naturally inquisitive and tactile anyway, and the video tries to make the argument that because they may not have the funds to buy bits of wood to stack, they’ll just “stare at the ceiling.”

  24. WOWJBEOWULF says:

I saw lots of education value, they are learning social skills. Not sure when education starts for them, in the United States the age 5-years is kindergarten that is 1/2-day of education preparation, as 1st Grade is when formal education begins. We see the wealthy have pre-schools for everything, but they are not the normal, most people have the same problems. Cultural problems are into law, heritage, religion, and language and that is what needs to be remedied.

  25. Mamsecks says:

I’ve got nothing against Molly (she’s really attractive, nice and makes nice reports), but these are much better in content than most of the stuff you have. Keep’em comming, por favor!

  26. nathpollen says:

One thing that bugs me is that I want to follow up on these interesting stories, but in the information bar there aren’t any links. I don’t mind going to google and searching unlimited child, but it would be nice if you provided links straight to their website. :)

  27. frankylovesyall says:

“They just sit and eat. There’s nothing they can do other than to sleep, stare at the roof, and eventually go back home.” – African Day Care Lady

This is not much different than the blacks we have here in America. Same shit, different nation. We’ve tried domesticating them, but had poor results. We taught them English and grammar, but they’d rather use Ebonics to remain as different as possible. We even stopped calling them niggers… and then… they started calling each other nigger. /sigh

  28. DeRealUno says:

@chill579 Thank you. Molly should really make a video addressing those perverts, to shut them up and put them in their place.

  29. t1mTV says:

the only reason people watch these videos is because of molly. she should be in every video. people are not tuning in for your informative content.

  30. ThaisBlackXboxLive says:

@sincityfire Undereducated? Say what nigga? They are the fucking undereducated fucks here.. And how can I be flushed? I’m no shit… Niggers are shit..

  31. EpicFknBrutality says:

What’s up with Rocketboom and uploading videos of niggers? And why isn’t the commentating in fucking English?

I’m about to unsubscribe if they keep up this shit. Rocketboom keeps getting worse and worse. It’s rare they upload anything worth watching anymore, 9/10 times their videos are just a waste of time.

  32. ThaisBlackXboxLive says:

@v1tusphoenix If I were born as a nigger I’d probably commited suicide, and I would agree with the whites that we niggers should be exterminated.

  33. Unit06JAW says:

Ouch theres some hate in this vid.
I would actually reccomend using less molly despite the fact that I only watch this shit because of her. Shes funny and cute so why not. I did origionally subscribe because of know your meme however.
Molly is adorable and sexy lots of people see this and get a bit.. fussy over rocketboom videos.
From what ive seen in the comments the type of people slobbering over molly are just.. asswipe douchebags.
    I mean really…

  34. chaos850 says:

Why was the “Or Not” portion not addressed?

Here in the more developed parts of Asia, this has been pulled to the extreme, where children are going through preparatory classes before they even reach kindergarten. Do we take away the joys of childhood and fill it with tuition and studying just so a child may have a slight advantage over his/her peers in the future?

  35. ANBUsander says:

    @ThaisBlackXboxLive

If you hate niggers that much, why don’t you commit suicide, it’s obviously you who has a problem with other people, and not the other way around…
maybe you should stop being so frustrated?

  36. woody500z says:

Maybe its because African’s have an average IQ of 80…

inb4 “RACIST”….It is a fact, even poor whites outscore rich blacks in the US. Facts don’t lie, facts are racist.

  37. maksphoto78 says:

Why, out of all other parts of the world, does Africa require our constant involvement just to give them normal lives? Can they not feed themselves, create their own jobs, have their own health care? If they can, we shouldn’t be spoon-feeding them. If they can’t, we shouldn’tbe doing it either.

Seriously, Africa, sort yourself out and stop looking to us for constant help.

  38. Fex13 says:

@maksphoto78 Great… Now take into account that we, the white guys, screwed Africa to begin with. You know, colonization, decolonization, slavery and all that. Besides, I think it is a moral obligation to educate all. Sharing knowledge so that they can generate their own. We took away a lotand got way to much for ourselves now. Let us share our knowledge, our technology and our or modern ways with the world so that they too can benefit from it. In return, lets learn a bit of humility from them

  39. DSQueenie says:

@maksphoto78 Africa was doing fine untill we came over and fucked it up. The reason we need to help africa is because if we had not come in and: Introduced new diseases; destoryed comunitys but shipping all the young men away to america to be slaves; Claimed the natual resourses as our own ect… then Africa WOULDN’T HAVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS TO BEGIN WITH!!

  40. CrazyLazySnazzyJazzy says:

@ThaisBlackXboxLive Your comment makes me sad. Why can’t we all just accept each other for the way we are? There is always going to be something you don’t like about someone else, whether it be religion, ethnicity, or gender among a whole spectrum of things. How about if you were killed, along with everyone else of your faith (being atheism), ethnicity (being white, not exactly sure on country of origin), or gender (being male)? Everyone deserves to live and that’s why your comment makes me sad.

  41. Stripdancer100 says:

@Fex13 I think that this education program is great yet I daresay that if white colonists hadn’t come, it would have taken African tribes thousands of years to make some progress and become civilized.
Europeans didn’t make all those people any happier, they just tried to pushed them into contemporary civilization of that time but they failed, For the most part, tribes are at the same point where they had been before the arrival, excepr for the fact they use computers and all

  42. TasarlaSkaara says:

Is there a link for this organization? As an educator, I would like to get involved in a charity like the one mentioned in this video.

  43. maksphoto78 says:

@DSQueenie It’s very easy to blame the colonialists and slavery, but that was a long time ago. Slavery was a common practice in Africa even before we came there, we simply made use of it. And I’m sorry, but diseases like AIDS and malaria come here from Africa, not the other way around.

The needs of Africans are the same as the needs in any other part of the world, yet somehow other parts of the world don’t have to rely on our constant help.

  44. DSQueenie says:

@maksphoto78 Yes slavery was practiced among african countrys however it was done more or less sustainably. We came in and wiped out entire vilages which destroyed the social sturcture of those reagions witch is only begining to repear itself now. It takes hundres of year to create effictive social and economical links in counrtys and slavely has only been stopped for 100 which isn’t that long historicly speaking. Also, there is guilt among countrys that had abused the region.

  45. DSQueenie says:

@maksphoto78 lastly africa is poorer than other regions because mony of its natural resorses are stilled owned by forgin companys. But you are right there are many other places in the world that need our help. So i think we should help them too :)

  46. L3mm0n2 says:

I don’t understand how you can dislike this vid… unless your reason is Molly isn’t in it because your a sad troll.

  47. wwickeddogg says:

@cx420ns Who is they? Are you talking about the ignorant uneducated woman who stays with the kids because she cannot get a job? She probably does not do anything with the kids because she is busy trying to make some food or something and she does not know any better.

  48. dkallisti says:

    @nathpollen link’s in the description.

i’m not trolling or anything.. just trying to be helpful :) perhaps it was added after your comment. have a wonderful day/night/etc

  49. Sizomu says:

@KarlaQat the language = Dutch (Dutch news report) and Please use your brain next time. No Offence but “Afrikaans”??? is Asia or America or Europe a Language? Africa is a continent (remember) which is build up bij Countries which have there languages.

  50. Sizomu says:

Good Job rocketboom. but….yes But, please cover more of basic truth. Why does this situation arise? why isn’t this already done? why is it that a white person came to do it? its obvious there is no need for funding or outside help to do this. So what is the real story. I think that would be a good follow up. Start with IMF and UN. you will then come across Aids and on the way something about religion. But Keep you mind open, because the truth is stranger than fiction! cheers

  51. Sizomu says:

@pjmcnally I know its a sister Language of Dutch. but calling it “Afrikaans” will and may confuse alot. because it has nothing to do with Africa and Africans. even calling it “native” is a big lie, like Wiki will suggest. It is a product of the colonies. Like American is just a slightly different version of English. hope this show what I meant.

  52. SimonGriffindor says:

@Sizomu Yes but clearly on your first comment, you had never heard of the language, when you made the comments about Europe and Asia and stated Africa was a continent. Clearly if you knew it was a language you would not say that.

  53. djmaxxl says:

@Sizomu I Disagree, it is not a small difference between Afrikaans and dutch. The grammar has some MAJOR difference’s.You cannot compare it with American english.

  54. Sizomu says:

@djmaxxl U r right, is used a bad example. its origin is Dutch. so calling that language “afrikaans” is misleading. in dutch it is like saying people in America speak Americans. it won’t even make sense when there are more countries in America which have there own language.

  55. Sizomu says:

@SimonGriffindor but its not…. I didn’t know its refer d to as “Afrikaans”. I didn’t think long enough to see that. but I still want to press on with: its a bad presentation/name for a language. and to be honest I felt a bit disappointed as an African. I feel like too many people think Africa is a country, and that “easy” thinking was the reason this language is now known as “Afrikaans”. Ask a Dutch person what: Afrikaan & Afrikaans mean.

  56. httprover says:

Playgrounds are important too. Swings, teeter totters, slides, merrygorounds, etc. do more than just stimulate young minds.

  57. johnnyfnhollywoods says:

At least they don’t bring guns to school or end up with blood alcohol level of 2.72 like here. Yeah the worls is a happy place.

  58. roidroid says:

@Sizomu you don’t get to say “use your brain next time” if you’ve never heard of “Afrikaans”.

    no.

    bad hypocrite. BAD
