@ThatBoyWithaGuitar I’m pretty sure it’s Afrikaans, like TalesOfWar put before me. Afrikaans was derived from Dutch, so they should very familiar.

  2. masticina says:

In many areas dogs are not that well accepted. Something with religion

But rats are well not written anywhere ;)

  3. red00devil says:

this is what i subscribed for… not molly… not some other crap drama episodes… but this…. real reporting….

  4. pinkblackwitch says:

This is adorable, useful, and i find it funny the rats have their own space for “romantic moments” X3 Hero Rats are always something i like to hear about.

  5. eph5121 says:

such a pity theyre not trained to sniff out the rats who begin wars in the first place,.. it would end a lot of suffering man… fi real. :(

  6. JackalHarrier says:

    @TheWhiteDreamsOfLife
Afrikaans isn’t evolved Dutch. Afrikaans is kinda what Dutch sounded like hundreds of years ago, exept they got new words for stuff like computers and stuff. And, Dutch myself, I can tell you this is Dutch.

  7. deogrou says:

Hm, why are almost all these informative videos in Dutch? :) Because it’s in Afrika? I’m Dutch myself and it surprises me everytime to hear my own language :d

  8. gulllars says:

Wait… Haven’t we seen this video before? Or just another variation of it.
It’s fun to listen to the dutch guy spreaking, i can understand about 70-80% of what he’s saying without the text :)
I found the dutch word for rodent fun, knaagdier. gnaw animal.

  9. peon17 says:

@ThatBoyWithaGuitar Ah, then I apologize. I’m no expert in either language, so I can’t tell the difference just from listening. It just seemed that it would be Afrikaans instead of Dutch since they’re in Africa. I guess I was wrong.

  10. bigred2989 says:

Ironic that an animal usually seen as something that carries disease is now hunting down a disease to get rid of it.

  11. unorthodoxJ says:

“Hero rats hero rats fighting for mankind
Hero rats hero rats sniffing out land mines

Hero rats hero rats armed with tiny claws
Hero rats hero rats working for our cause

They are small, but they are mighty
    Marching bravely into hell

    Into the fields
    Straight into danger

    Saving the humans from themselves
    From ourselves…”

    -Parry Gripp, Hero Rats

  12. johnnytastetest says:

It’d be funnier if the way these rats detected mines simply by landing on them and having them detonate after being thrown by their “trainers.”

“This rat has endured nine months of extensive training.”

    *Toss* *KABLAM!*

“He’s done his job. Bring me another rat!”

  13. johnnytastetest says:

Kangaroos would make good mine locators. Just let ‘em loose on a mine field and let ‘em hop around.

  14. DJRC420 says:

Buttercup: Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.’s?
Westley: Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don’t think they exist.

  15. joen0411 says:

This is the first time I have given Rocketboom a thumbs down. I’m sorry. I’m just really afraid of rats.

  16. Carrie says:

They took over a week off to get the AMAZING episodes on Japan done? They they translate the headings on a video about a rat?

    LOL!!!

Give me a break. If you wanted to go smoke ganja for a week just say so!

  17. derekcolman says:

@abramokids . It’s a Dutch reporter making a documentary for Dutch consumption in a country where English is the first language. They probably add Dutch subtitles for home consumption, but most Dutch people speak fluent English anyway. If you want to ask a local for directions in Amsterdam, don’t start by asking if they speak English, they prefer you to assume they do.

  18. GigantGatlingGun says:

@joen0411 dumb sht.. then why did u click on the video in the 1st place it clearly has rats in the title…FOOL
trying to get some attention on the internet.. well get happy i just gave you some by commenting on ur comment

  19. AuspTheAwesome says:

@dominic508 Because, it was meant for a Dutch audience. The original composers of this video would have Dutch subtitles where English is spoken for such audience’s doing viewing.

  20. dubldeka says:

These African rats should stay in Africa.
Imagine if they bread with our sewer rats, there would be rats as big as dogs running around.

  21. Callanishername says:

rats are my nightmare. that was terrifying. the big ones are HUGE! i can now see why people say rats can get as big as cats.

  22. eveningniteshade says:

If this dutch creep won’t redo the voice-over track in english then dont’ use his videos. What a horrible language.

  23. GruntKing503 says:

I’m unsubscribing from you guys for selling know your meme and than posting dumb videos on bomb sniffing rats!

  24. stickmanbrains says:

@johnnyreb73 Yea I think we all have… I don’t see what the big fuss is lol. It’s not like she’s smoking hot.

  25. SuperSonicLollies says:

I love rats. We used to have them as pets. Hy praat Afrikaans!! YAY! I used to learn it in South Africa =D

  26. Leadman1989 says:

    @GruntKing503

Rocketboom hurry post more informative intellectually stimulating videos the IDIOTS can’t take it.

  27. ikbenbeterinclubpeng says:

I always love to see dutch videos here! I also recognize the accent of the belgian guy, we hear that accent a lot in the Netherlands :P

Keep the informative vids coming, Rocketboom!

  28. ikbenbeterinclubpeng says:

@starfoxx Because we are awesome :P I think it was an original informative recording mend for the Netherlands, but Rocketboom decided to use it in their video. But how does Dutch sound for a non-dutch person?

  29. EllOEllproductions says:

That’s so cool! I especially love that they treat them so well and a priest is running the whole thing. Awesome!

  30. Goldenwind says:

@wwickeddogg They need to be trained to find specific things. If you trained one to find bombs, what if someone brings a knife?

  31. starfoxx says:

@ikbenbeterinclubpeng Oh I love it, I just don’t get why it’s the same dutch guy every time, I speak German and so I can catch a few words but it does sound so unknown to my ears :P

  32. BenedictWolfe says:

@thisFACTORYofYOUTH Dutch is like a mix of German, English and various Scandinavian words. People who speak those languages can usually understand quite a bit of Dutch.

  33. yerk3 says:

@tsetsoooo We must distance ourselves from your ignorance. Also, your profile says you’re 27, but you claim to be 16. Do you think that by pretending to be a teenager, you’re going to get a free pass for talking out of your ass?

  34. Cel3ry says:

@LukieRawr they carry disease, they’re filthy creatures who live in the sewer where people shit in. they’re pest, they’re responsible for the plague that killed many people. idk, i guess ur not scared cuz u don’t have basic hygine.

  35. TheUniversalMonkey says:

@Cel3ry They dont carry disease. They are pretty clean. Just because a lot of people have AIDS i dont go around saying all humans have aids. Rats a beautiful creatures and with your ignorant reply they are probably worth more on this earth than you with your rate of intelligence.

  36. d0pesick says:

I foster for a private domestic rat rescue in Ontario, Canada and I just LOVE positive PR for them, even if it is their Gambian cousins. Rats are intelligent, affectionate, clean, and have absolutely stolen my heart.

  37. d0pesick says:

@Cel3ry The fleas that lived on the rats were responsible for the plague. Rats are intelligent and clean animals who spend much of their day grooming and can be trained to use a litter box. Rats actively seek out human attention and are less likely to bite than a hamster, making them better pets for children. Rats are widely chosen for experiments because most of their diseases are species specific, making them less likely to transmit things to humans. Please insert your foot into your mouth.

  38. Sara3346 says:

African pouched rats I belive and (for all the ignorant/forgetfull people)they couldent breed with our rats well I’m pretty shure…..depends wether or not it’s a brown*sigh* oh don’t bother I’m just succumming to there ignorance

  39. d0pesick says:

@Sara3346 Yup, it’s the Gambian Pouched Rat and they can’t breed with the rats we know, they are a different species but same family.

  40. tsetsoooo says:

@yerk3 wut ? i am 18 so your wrong on all accounts xD and at all i bet you dont know where my country even is hahaha

  41. pikachu48 says:

    Marching Braveley into HELL,
    For ourselves! For oooouuurrrselves…
    oooouuurrrseeeeeeeeeeelvesssss!

    Parry Gripp FTW!

  42. yerk3 says:

@tsetsoooo Dude, it says it all right on your profile. It lists your age as 27, then you claim in the same profile, not 2 inches down from that, to be 16. Either your lying here or there, both can’t be true.

  43. yerk3 says:

@tsetsoooo Oh, and your profile says you’re from Bulgaria, so it’s pretty likely that that’s the answer to that last question. Seriously, who do you think you’re jiving with this cosmic debris?

  44. tsetsoooo says:

@yerk3 nooooooob i mean to tell me right now where my country is ? i mean geographically little noob. withouth opening google and stuff. Oh noobs these days so stupid. also i dont understand noob jiving with this cosmic debris? translate it for me , will ya noob

  45. raykiller545 says:

    @thisFACTORYofYOUTH

i was born in the netherlands, and yeah we talk dutch here.

  47. mantas1111000 says:

    @raykiller545 Dutch.

You’re a dutchman. Teach me dutch.

Because your frisians appearently traveled to prussia, and then traveled to south africa. And now they’re going to Georgia.

    So teach me.

  48. yerk3 says:

@tsetsoooo It says that the country you’re in is Bulgaria. Again, who do you think you’re fooling? The irony of you calling me a noob while failing to understand a figure of speech that should be fairly obvious to anyone is golden. I could parse it all out in kindergarten terms, but I don’t feel the need. You’ve pretty much demonstrated that you are the noob in this situation.

  49. tsetsoooo says:

@yerk3 you still haven’t said where my country is little noob. do you even know how to geographically state where something is ? Oh whatever you silly Americans and your cheeseburgers.

  50. PrinceofCats999 says:

    @yerk3

Lol man, is that a Frank Zappa reference? Also, the troll you pwned is the n00b. Too bad he doesn’t realize how stupid he looks.

  51. mantas1111000 says:

@raykiller545 You’re european, you should atleast try.

Or don’t you have the stubborness of a Samogitian?

  52. raykiller545 says:

    @mantas1111000
huh? stobborness of a samogitian??? what do you mean? ooh well ofcourse i can try=) pm me:)

  53. 777neotamakachi777 says:

I live in south africa, the language sounds a lot like afrikaans.
Afrikaans being a language made up of many european languages.
Strangely I can understand this language.

It is most likely bulgarian or finnish. Sounds a bit like dutch but the accent is far from dutch.

  54. Borstian says:

@777neotamakachi777 It is rather certainly not bulgarian or finnish. I can`t tell what it really is, but it is a language that roots in middle high german, but is not german, leaving something that derives from dutch or flanderish, or possibly switzerish, although it doesn`t sound like switzerdeutsch.

  55. minodragon says:

WHAT LANGUAGE IS THIS AND WHY DO I UNDERSTAND IT O__O oh right! that right I live in the Netherlands and I do understand dutch! Almost forgot!

  56. FrizzyMedia says:

I’m dutch and this sounds fucking awfull. I think this is for foreign people learning dutch, it’s extremely simplified.

  57. goodyfun says:

I teach my rats to find and bring to me lost things from under the couch. :D

Otherwise they just snuggle with me. :)

  58. 1acroyear1 says:

Great. Now we just need to train teams of dolphins to locate schools of fish and catch then in nets for us.

  59. iridium27 says:

@derekcolman I’m sorry but Dutch people think they can speak fluent English, the accent is just way too strong and use alot of half English/ half dutch phrases imo. As for me, I’m Belgian, Dutch/Flemish part, I’m not claiming to speak English fluent but the term fluent is just too over used by people in the wrong context.

  60. derekcolman says:

@iridium27 . I should have said all the Dutch people I have met speak fluent English, and that includes a 4 day holiday break in Amsterdam. Of course that is only anecdotal, and maybe I just did not meet the thousands who cannot.
