Twenty-ten is the correct pronunciation. There’s nothing more to discuss than that. I don’t know of this “side” non-sense you’re talking about but “our side” will eventually win.

I’m just saying you can go around correcting people who say “two thousand and ten” and complimenting people who in your mind say it correctly, but it won’t amount to anything.
I haven’t read anything on the correct way to pronounce this year but the majority of people will continue to say “two thousand and X” because that’s what they’ve grown accustomed to, despite of the efforts of people like you who appreciate correctness.
I’m sure some have seen it, and some might even have worked on it. The construction industry is a traditional employer of some tribal groups in NYC.
There’s no “correct way” to say anything when some people say one thing and other people say it a different way, and still other people vary between one and the other. I say that as a linguist. In fact, I’ll use this discussion in my class!!!
