+ Alive in Baghdad correspondent Ali Shafeya killed in raid.

Alive in Baghdad correspondent Ali Shafeya was killed on December 14th.

According to Alive in Baghdad founder Brian Conley, Ali was found shot 31 times to the head and chest after a raid of his neighborhood by the Iraqi National Guard in the Habibya neighborhood of Baghdad.

While details are still coming in, this is a heartbreaking loss for Ali's family. Ali is survived by his mother and sister.

As you know, we here at Rocketboom are huge devotees of Alive in Baghdad and are proud to run their work on our show. We wish Brian, Omar, and the rest of the AIB staff the strength to live through this.

Brian is currently accepting donations to help Ali's mother and sister pay for Ali's funeral. If you're in a position to make a donation, we encourage you to help out.
